Good question. I've flown Ercoupes with and without rudder pedals Mine does not have them. You don't really need rudder pedals unless you wish to build up time in a conventional plane.
@@stevenwestlund1080 Nice video. Maybe a dumb question, but how do you crab the plane in crosswind landings with no rudder pedals? If needing to crab left for example, wouldn't turning the wheel left also bank/roll the plane left? I just don't understand how that works in an Ercoupe. Thanks
eastbend99 you just land in crab (wings level and nose in the wind). The position of the wheels (aft to the strut) will swing the aircraft in the landing direction and as soon as the nosewheel is on the ground you can steer any direction you want or need.
Ansley, My POH is from the Ercoupe 415-E Model. It is close except for the weight and balance information. Here is a link to a site where you can purchase it. Might be the same one Univair sells. www.pilotmall.com/products/ercoupe-415-e-thru-g-flight-manual-er415eg-48-f-c
The 415-D has more restricted elevator travel, which increases the max gross weight to 1400 lbs. As a result, the D-Model does not qualify as an LSA. An STC is available for the 415-C that increases the max gross weight from 1260 to 1320 lbs, which is still within LSA limits. The E-Model incorporates a “split elevator” design that increases the max gross weight while improving the handling and safety at slower speeds.
Love the colors of your panel. I may have to paint mine to match! Love Ercoupes! Always have.
If you don't know what "keeping your head in a swivel" means, watch this pilot. Good job.
Thank you for sharing your video, I really enjoyed it. Love the Ercoupe.
Thanks, Mark. I’m quite fond of them as well.
Perfect! Keep the videos coming your a star in the making! :)
Nice...I can see why people love Ercoupes. Is yours sans rudder pedals?

What POH do you use? I see one from Univair online. I know they never published one specifically from the manufacturer.

What's the difference between a Model C and D?
