absolute brilliant playthrough. I love how you place the cards on the projector so we can see them- also your banter is fun to watch. Thanks so much for helping me undertand this game I just purchased for my wife and I
It turns out the only thing better than watching you two talk about games (and life) is watching you play them. Love how you manage to be nice to each other and try to crush each other at the same time 😆
I’ve watched a couple other playthroughs on other channels and this was the best one. Thank you for displaying each card you drafted! Made it so much easier to follow. In the other videos, people would just take the action and it was hard to follow!
I always appreciate Rahdo's channel for the deeper understanding of how a game plays that it brings: witnessing what's going on in the player's head, and seeing game elements close up really do wonders. I always appreciate the good vibe between you, Amy & Maggie. That was an interesting session of Rahdlands. 😉
Yay! So excited to see Amy and Maggie doing play throughs here! I absolutely love them! You girls did awesome! I love this game and it was a great one for your first play through! Can’t wait to see what is next! ❤️
What a pleasant surprise to see you two on here. Love your sisinct and informative level of explanation. Can't wait to play this with my gf in a couple of days. Such beautiful artwork!
Oh, no! Maggie should have played the Rescue Team, which enters play ready, to immediately recover the Repair Bot. Then play the Repair Bot again for its instant Restore ability to fix her camp. Maybe this could have helped her to hold out until her raiders could destroy Amy's last camp. I so love this game!
Yay! ThinkerThemer on Rahdo’s channel! It is great to see a 2-player team playing together on THE 2-player gaming channel. More please! And congrats on your marriage! :-)
Amy & Maggie on RRT? Fantastic! ThinkerThemer is one of the best new channels to come out over the last couple of years so this collaboration can only be stellar: thanks for the video(s)!
I'd recommend getting the game anyway. It's excellent. I will admit, though, that my friend and I much prefer playing with the playmats. It helps to organize the game quite a bit.
We play without the mats just fine. It'd be awesome to buy the mats from the company but we've decided to wait until our 10th playthrough to make sure it stays in our rotation and worthy of the mats
For what it's worth, you really don't need playmats with this game at all, especially since the cards are printed nearly indestructible. Put down any ol' thing and play. The playmats only REALLY help when you're learning and are a nice little deluxification but really not necessary.
As people have said, the playmats are absolutely not a necessity, and personally, I really do not think their absence is reason not to get the game. They are super nice, they make learning the game a bit easier and they certainly look amazing on the table, but at the end of the day they’re just a luxury item. Plus, you can always get them separately down the line from Roxley’s website if you at some point decide they’re worth the investment. (As I did.) I do want to point out, though, that there are 3 versions of the game: Retail, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe. This last one is the only version that comes with the playmats. The “regular Deluxe” version is the one I initially got, and it’s excellent. Despite not having the playmats, everything else about them feels very nice, especially the thick and satisfying premium water tokens. Since you are going to be using the tokens every single game, I’d say they’re definitely more important than the playmat. As for the regular retail version, it is significantly more affordable, but the cardstock is slightly less premium (regular paper instead of a sort plastic-like paper that’s supposedly way more resistant), and the water tokens are regular cardboard. The game is still the same whatever the version you pick, and it’s a damn good game (in fact, it’s my overall favorite game at the moment), so the retail version is ideal if you’re on the fence and not sure if the game is for you, but if it looks interesting enough to you, I’d definitely advise to either pick up the Deluxe version for the better quality tokens and cards, and down the line get the playmats separately if you really love the game.
I almost switched the video off when I realized that it wasn't actually Richard. I'm not jiving with some of the new folks as they just don't seem to hold my attention. Then I realized it was Maggie and Amy! Welcome! And congrats on your marriage!
Your runthrough MAGNIFICENTLY captured the spirit of this game! Love what you did here, and the tenseness but quick gameplay. You can lose in a landslide, reshuffle, let's go! Loved it!
On a side note, I did want to say that Amy spent a "take-backs" credit there and totally didn't need to... When you spend a water for the water tower you can just change your mind and SPEND the water tower for a water. Whatevs. Until your turn ends the water tower is...well...just a water.
Is this going to be a regular thing? I love watching you two play. Maggie's reactions are priceless. Loved it. I've been so on the fence about this game. I love the art style, but not the art itself. I enjoy the Mad Max theme from a childhood nostalgia point of view (Tina Turner singing thunder dome:) but shy away from most direct fighting games. But it still overall intrigues me.
The price range on the standard game between sellers is wild (then the price jump for the deluxe version). But I paid $25 for the standard and I see the playmats avail separately $25 (for both) (while unnecessary, are great eye candy and makes gameplay nice.) So for me bc there's such few components, I don't think the deluxe version with better tokens/card quality justify the prices since I can buy the component I care about and be in all in for $50.)
Great playthrough! It's such a short and tight game that you're never really that upset when you win, but really want a rematch to get revenge (hopefully). Does this mean more playthroughs in the future?
I was thinking of picking up this game because of the great opinions; but this playthrough just seemed totally random to me. I do not meat the Amy's ang Maggie's performance, just the gameplay, it felt is if the game is 90% luck 10% skill. Thank's to you I will not buy it, and maybe buy something more suitable for my taste. Thanks!

Thanks for mirroring the video to make it easier to follow who's on right and who's on left
yes, that was a very brilliant idea that maggie had i think while she was editing the video together. a&m are the best! :)
@@rahdo And I was so confused and wondered why Amy and Maggie switched sides... :D
Then even wore tops to match their playmats! 🤣
It turns out the only thing better than watching you two talk about games (and life) is watching you play them. Love how you manage to be nice to each other and try to crush each other at the same time 😆
Aww thanks so much Josh!! 😊
Yay! More Maggie and Amy is always a good thing so we are THRILLED to see them doing content for y'all!!
You both are the best. ❤️ Move to Australia please and thank you 🙏

Thank you ever so much for this playthrough. Deeply informative and thorough. Helped us a lot.

The repair bot wouldn't be ready though, so couldnt instantly repair.
@@davidlisteresqrobot can restore a card as soon as it's played. That is it's Trait.
So great to see Amy and Maggie on Rahdo’s channel. Great addition, and looking forward to seeing more ThinkerThemer here.
you really explained this game well. thank you
Wow, what a wonderful discovery of Amy & Maggie on Rahdo's channel!

Comeback of the century 😳
Great run-through guys
What a crossover!!! These two are my favorite boardgame channel out there, such genuine people
Love, love, love this!
Great runthrough Maggie and Amy! I'm really glad that you joined the Rahdo-Team. And also congratulations to your marriage!

Thanks for the kind words Nigel! 💕
ThinkerThemer on Radho! What a quality addition, love it. Looking forward to many great run throughs, Amy and Maggie.
The main thing keeping me from buying this game is that "retail edition" doesn't include any kind of player boards/mats.
I'd recommend getting the game anyway. It's excellent. I will admit, though, that my friend and I much prefer playing with the playmats. It helps to organize the game quite a bit.

One of the drawbacks of kickstarter. Why not just add $10 to the retail price and included them?

Thank you Claire!! 🥰
did Amy forget to draw a card around the 11:00 mark?
Yes... it was already noted on the Klingon subtitles

Great to see you doing a run-through, Amy and Maggie! Radlands is one of my favorite games of the past year, always a great time!
You guys are such a joy to watch. Great playthrough.
Awesome stuff :) Always good to see more of you both.

Well done, ladies!
