Thank you for covering People's Choice Top Games With Two! I've been following you (with my personal account) for years and seeing my work on your channel made my day :) I hope to see you around when the results get published in February. Oh, and happy new year!
If you want to learn more about Vantage, Jamey Stegmaier has released monthly design diary posts on BGG describing the mechanics and design of the game (without spoiling the world itself).
regarding popcorn, reminds of the lite to med weight Sun, Sea and Sand game where u are running a resort and need to attract vacationers of different types
For me it has to be Arydia! I'm not the biggest fan of co-ops, but I love Xia, the components look insane, and I can still see myself having a good time adventuring with friends.
Thank you for the shoutout on Howl! =) - On dice or n o dice: most of my games start with dice and end with a different system that replaces them... So... At this point of the development I can't really confirm or not the dice. I can tell I am studying other possibilities to increase interaction among the pack members.
Happy New Year! Even with only the cover art on BGG, I'm looking forward to 'Ayar: Children of the Sun'. I prefer Merv over Sankoré, but it's still great to see another entry in the series.
i'm anticipating it, just not top25. shea's excellent runthrough has be a bit nervous that it might be a bit too much for us, like more lacerda games these days :)
Year of the coop and year of the 2-player duel version of established games? So many duel versions are coming out in 2025. Abyss duel and Aquatica duel will be the duel of duel games set at the bottom of the sea!
Thanks for this! Some interesting games I wasn't aware of will definitely check out. I can see Coming of Age being a big hit for me; Dani Garcia has been on fire! Windmill Valley was my #2 game of 2024. My most anticipated games of 2025 right now are: Galactic Cruise (backed on KS), Luthier (backed on KS), and Raas: Dance of Love. What I'm most anticipating, though, are the South Tigris trilogy expansions.
raas & luthier are both great. I'll talk about them more in the next video i'm doing. i know galactic cruise is the bee's knees as well from shea's runthrough, but tbh i'm worried it might be a bit too top heavy for us. looking forward to trying it though! :)
@rahdo Awesome! Looking forward to your thoughts on them; especially Raas. I haven't seen any significant coverage on it yet but the theme is super appealing to me as an Indo-Caribbean. I hope you'll touch on the solo mode!
Hi, Richard. Just curious, was it on purpose that you mentioned every designer for every game in your list, but skipped the designer name for Furnace? Anyway, thanks for the list, was interesting and very entertaining.
nope that's a total oversight on my part. i didn't sit down with a list of things to do and as i went on things got a bit 'looser'. but yes, ivan lashin is a great designer (and a great person) and deserves the shout out and i'm embarrassed that i overlooked him!
it's a 3 (like to have) on the list, but i'm hesitant because we almost never like trick taking games, including most co-op ones (only the crew worked for us)
Did you ever hear more about Neo dreams? I recall that being in one of your excited/anticipated lists but heard nothing about it in 2024 so uncertain if it was delayed.
Hello Richard, Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it. I will use this opportunity to teach you how to pronounce Vlaada Chvátil's name, since you like his designs so much. You are pronouncing 'Vláďa' pretty OK, and I don't want to confuse you more. Let's look at the surname: CH - complicated, as there is no English word with that sound, but it's like 'ch' in the German “Bach”. v - English 'v' á - is a long 'aah' as in "father". t - in this word is pronounced as 'ty' in “tune”. i - is a short 'e' in “wit”. l - English 'l' Together: Chvaahtyeel You can hear it best in the 25th second of the UA-cam video called "DOBRÁ SPOLEČNOST (Káča): Vlaada Chvátil".
it was actually a top 39 (plus 15 expansions and another 50 or so games i'm "thinking about"). here's the link to it on patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/119884116 and here it is on youtube: ua-cam.com/video/YJaJZM91BWM/v-deo.html
So was it Finspan your most anticipated? If it's lighter than Wingspan I'm surprised it would make #1. But then again, you liked the heavier Wyrmspan less.
fs is what i was talking about, though when i did, i didn't know it was going to be lighter. i just knew about the more open ended grid card play and activation, which makes it sound more saltfjord-ish to me! i'm hoping to get my hands on it soon!
here's a list of all the co-op dog games on boardgamegeek: boardgamegeek.com/boardgamefamily/7349/animals-dogs/linkeditems/boardgamefamily?pageid=1&mechanicfilter=2023 there aren't many and they're mostly light/party games, but good dog/bad zombie is pretty great, and it's getting a reprint/2nd edition in 2025 :)
its on that other list of 38 games i've played that will be in the next ramble. it would probably have made #10 between unstoppable and citizens of spark on this list! :)
I hope mr Pfister stops revisiting his previous designs, and work on something new. And also I hope he doesn't listen to you and design games with some negative interaction 😂😂 Happy new year Rahdo!
And if that one doesn't work, the next one will be about being a videogame designer that leaves the job to create a UA-cam channel!
you got a genuine LOL out of me there! :)
Your most anticipated games list is my most anticipated video every year, Richard. Thanks once again!

Collaboration in the offing, maybe?
Most of the games you like I wouldn't even try, but your enthusiasm is fantastic! Thank you for doing this after so many years!
Enjoy your trip to Ireland, lots of fans here too 🎉

I'm really fascinated by El Paso. If it can contain an interesting meta within half the time, it could be brilliant.

Sooooo excited for a new year of games! :D
So did we get some insight on what FS today! If you aren’t pumped I sure am. Also excited for Vantage. Could be a huge year for Stonemaier!
yes, you have cracked the code! :)
Happy New Year!

Vantage +1 (and Jamey actually reveals a lot about the game each month, I recommend subscribing Vantage newsletter)
Super stoked to see what you think about Rebuilding Chicago Rahdo!
The most recent you played was Adulthood. Great game.
Ireland- Lucky! I want to go. Have fun.
Serverton reminds me of Tales from the Loop. No idea how close that comparison is though.
Happy New Year Rahdo! What about Galactic Cruise? Played or not interested?

@@laurencesingh3948 I gotta say, there tend to be more solo runthoughs than 2 player ones, so for me, I could do without another solo playthrough.
re: solo runthroughs, i talk about that a bit at faq.rahdo.com #21 if you're curious :)

@@rahdo Still, Hobby World is russian company...
Hi, Richard - Any thoughts / views on Illiad from Dr Knizia which is lined up to be published in March. It looks a solid 2 player game
i looked at both it and ichor and they both look cool, but not our sort of play (the tug of war area majority stuff)
@@rahdo Don't you love Lost Cities though?
Super surprised The Fellowship of the Ring: Trick-Taking Game isn’t on here.
it's a 3 (like to have) on the list, but i'm hesitant because we almost never like trick taking games, including most co-op ones (only the crew worked for us)
are you still taking questions for your podcast? I remember you saying that may be shutting down
i still do a Q&A show but it's now an exclusive for backers of the show on patreon :)
Did you ever hear more about Neo dreams? I recall that being in one of your excited/anticipated lists but heard nothing about it in 2024 so uncertain if it was delayed.
yeah i was very excited for it as it's from the designer of furnace, but in the end i passed on covering it because it uses AI art :(

Your explanation needs an explanation of itself!
Thank you for describing how to pronounce his name! It is very helpful for me
Rebuilding Chicago looks good but I am most looking forward to Luthier by Dave Beck/Paverson Games (the ones that did Distilled).
yup, that'll be on my "games i've already played" list i do later (very hard to rank somethign i've played against something i haven't) :)
Think Everdell Duo will have to be 2024… got my copy at Christmas! Shocker… it’s a good game. Another shocker … I’ve yet to beat Nancy.
curses, we left too soon!
I want to know the top 25 games coming to crowdfunding in 2025

Until Coming of Age comes out, what is your favorite “Life” themed game currently?
it's still pursuit of happiness :)
I'm glad someone else rates Rebuilding Seattle. It was a great game.
Completely off topic. Anyone know of a dog themed cooperative game? Especially one you'd recommend.
here's a list of all the co-op dog games on boardgamegeek:

Baldur's Gate is finally public knowledge? Oh man, I've been having to keep this secret for a LONG time.
You might not be the only youtube media which covered every Stefan feld games : ua-cam.com/video/J3c6xOXzFfI/v-deo.html :)
close, but it looks like he skipped Dribbel Fieber :)
