Literally 99% of Velma's "investigation" is sitting around and waiting for people to explain things to her. And that's genuinely not much of an exaggeration.

Fred's dad William was shown in the first season to be both protective of his son, and actually in love with his wife (even questioning if their marriage was real before she dismissed him)
The fact that without his wife in the picture hes even become a better person and a more attentive father. Which apparently gave him the confidence to push back against his mother and keep his own life.

Remember when Mindy was so confident about not having a talking dog because it wouldn’t work with the story they were telling? They can’t even stick to their guns out of a desperate attempt to get people to watch
The fact that all the episodes where also ordered all at once means they were never confident in this.
Guarantee that was just a lie they told because they were salty they couldn't use the actual Scooby Doo in the show. Like a child being all "You're thing's dumb anyway!"

Doctors: this man needs Zombie Island, three viewings of Witches Ghost, and two Viewings of Mystery Incorporated.
Throw in some What's New as well. Slightly better looking and more modern takes on the classic formula is going to be a nice palette cleanser. Just enjoying a wholesome adventure intended for children that isn't sexual or political is good for mental health, particularly after watching garbage like Velma.

@@DrewsterRooster37 I never had to forgive or pitty scrappy. He was a product of the time, actually helped the scooby doo franchise survive. The company banked on the hatred, but in the end instead of just hating on the character they could re-write him or change the dynamic.

I can explain this. The reason characters like this version of scrappy do work it's because the writer and director don't get in the way of forcing it to be something unlike Velma who is just Mindy.

Scrappy looks like he came out of a Meat Canyon animation but in the worst way possible.

When I saw the thumbnail and the scrappy reveal I was actually slightly hype over how menacing and scary he looked I almost thought the show might be redeemed by a downright scary scrappy and then the puppy power scene happened and I got re depressed

Confirming the supernatural is not a first for the franchise but they usually only do it sparingly, reluctantly.

The idea that Scrappy might come out of this show as best character is shocking. I find him very sympathetic so far. He's a lab experiment gone wrong in a world that would never accept him. He's got a verbal tick that was meaningfully implanted in him by his creators. He just wants to be recognized and understood. He was incredibly patient and kind with Velma, which is incredible because she's the worst thing in this show. I don't know, he seems sweet and I want him to be happy.

he first got thrown in prison for stealing bread for his family and basically the whole book is about redemption, forgiveness, suffering, and justice (and also the Parisian sewer system for some reason but it makes sense in context, i swear)

I don't agree with that take on freds mom, freds mom literally would have killed her son to try and make him a (man/smart). she might have cared about him but not about HIM.
Plus the whole plot of the first season was her trying to replace Fred's brain with that of a teenage girl. Nux is getting a little too desperate to make all Fred's relatives look good at this point.
