I like this video of yours, this is the way on how to unbox or showing what you received plus the explanations, stories or how and what you feel about the stamps, great vid.
I agree with you, very nice collection of stamps. Some of those fancy cancels are beautiful. Interesting to learn that cut outs should have ample margins - something to remember! I certainly also learned about different Back of Book stamps. Thanks, Kyle! Always enjoy your videos, and love that one can also learn some new stuff. Best wishes to you! 🙂
I will have a look at that one, Kyle. I am still into everything! 😆 Also, sometimes I get these printed stamps on covers, already removed from the cover, in the large mixes of stamps I buy, and now I will know how to neatly and optimally cut them out. 🙂@@KylesStamps
I always look forward to your videos each week. They are educational and entertaining! Thanks for making videos and keep on stamping... I love your collection.
Great video, as always. In the Philipine section, tha 5 cent brown shows Mt Fuji in Japan. Japan printed those stamps when they occupied the Islands during WWII.
The OB on the Philippine stamps stands for Official Business hence they are Official stamps. The Philippine stamps that say United States of America are American Occupation stamps. Horta is one of the Azores Islands that Portugal issued stamps for a short while . Katanga was a break away republic of the DR Congo but was never internationally recognized. After the Khymer Rouge took over Cambodia they renamed the country the Khymer Republic and then it became Kampuchea. After the Vietnamese incursion the name Cambodia was restored. Haute Volta is Upper Volta which is now known as Burkino Faso. Just an FYI, Danzig is now part of Poland as is known as Gdansk. Douglas City Dispatch is a Local stamp and will be in Scott under "L" numbers. Wow! Great Revenue stamps! You are on the right track as Proprietary stamps are for taxes on commodities like medicine or alcohol. The hole pounch in the Revenue stamps remind me of when you would take a train and the conductor would come by, look at your ticket and put a put punch in it. The "UX" are Postal Cards not Post Cards as there is a difference. "UY" is a reply Postal Card which will originally have had two parts. The City of Philadelphia and State of New York stamps will not be Scott listed as they are local tax stamps. The Federal Government stopped issuing Documentary stamps in the 60's and that is when the States and counties started issuing them so the 1964 stamped date would be appropriate. I love the Philatelic Truck label. I have been looking for one of those since you showed your other one. I loved all of Jukes Verne's books when I was a kid. I would have never thought of collecting the "Please place stamp here" but I suppose that some poeple might consider it stamp related. Lol! I like Tanna Tuva very much. It is now part of Russia. Unfortunately my album does not have pages for Tanna Tuva so I have to keep them in a stock book. The blue stamp that you think is French is actually a very early stamp from Belgium. Cilicia was part of French Syria which is now part of Turkey. OMF stands for French Military Occupation and TEO stands for Enemy Occupied Territory. The initials are in a different order in French. As for the Morocco stamp, any stamp from France or a French Colony that says Chiffre Taxe is also a Postage Due. There is a whole set of Ukrainian stamps that were printed but never officially issued. For Montenegro H1 is the Scott number. Not many countries have issued "H" lettered stamps. The stamps that you think are Russian are also from Montenegro. They also use the Cyrillic alphabet there.
I never been into stamps but here I am trying to figure out 12 totes full stamps from around the world despincers scales even an old mail van with the original logos which would make a cool stamp room we're trying to sale all but these stamps grow on you
Katanga is a province of Zaïre, there was an uprise in the '60s. And Kampuchea is Cambodia. The stamp at 1:32:45 is from Belgium.
Gorgeous covers! Sorry to hear about your family’s business. Good luck with your job search. When one door closes….🍀🤞
