Sorting Through A Pile Of Random Stamps!

- I pulled another envelope off of the shelf filled with random mixed up worldwide stamps. We go through the mixture and inspect them while looking for any standouts. I got a decent pile of British stamps from this search along with Hong Kong! Boy, the condition of many of these stamps was starting to annoy me near the end, lol!! I hope you enjoy the casual search!

"expensive, rarer stamps"..... many of which, like most stamp collectors, will never grace my collection.... and besides, most of them are not much to look at.... I'd rather have a bunch of pleasant-to-look-at and study common stamps. Thanks for the video !

Thanks! Man, I swear, mixing up the Euro and Pound is something I have a bad habit of doing. I'm just unfamiliar with them.
I only collect up through 1969 so a lot of the stamps that you show are newer than that. However I enjoy seeing stamps that I usually do not see, so keep up the good work. Unfortunately I was born pretty instead of rich so I understand "So many stamps, so little money". The Mexican stamps are an extensive series called the "Exporta Series and pictures products that Mexico exports. The stamp at 18:08 is actually Netherlands Antilles. The stamps at 20:36 are Government Ration stamps but not postage stamps. Comets are mostly made of rock, ice and dust. I do not collect used stamps so I do not have a curling problem but when I have paper that has a curl I run a quick iron over it for just a second. Maybe that will work for stamps. Just make sure that the bottom of the iron is clean. The Chinese stamp is Peoples Republic of China. I have an amethyst geode and yes they are very pretty. That is funny that I always thought that the Dutch stamp made the quen look like she had an Afro also.
I would probably be scared to use a iron but interesting idea. Funny you have a geode, I love those things!
A lot of those Curley stamps are caused because they were just laid out on a paper towel or similar and not pressed after soaking. I gang up my uneven or stamps or with messy backs then soak them and put them in a drying book with a few Scott Catalogs on top overnight. Works great, nice flat good looking stamps. Many of the stamps you have are worth the effort. Sorry to hear you get negative comments, this is for fun, no reason to get uppity and strike out, just go away. I like this video, nice variety of stamps. Thanks for trying to get that focus adjusted, you'll figure it out I'm sure. Lot's of luck with your new job.

I am so glad for you that you got another work so quickly. Congratulations!!! That must be a relieve. I think, probably one of the important things when creating content for UA-cam is to "stay true to and be yourself", as corny as that may sound. I think viewers will eventually see through you if you are play acting or trying to be something different all the time. Your videos are perfect for you. They are indeed very natural. I must add, though, you are very lucky that you can talk naturally and with your senses in tact when you speak on camera without a script. I for instance am different, I can just not speak in public properly, and neither on camera. So I speak a lot of nonsense, and sometimes I am so anxious that I have no idea what I am saying, during speaking and afterwards! So, I have to edit quite heavily. ... OK, enough rambling. I like your videos. They are a bit long, and one have to make time or look in bits to finish them, but they are very relaxing and mostly informative. Do what you do naturally. It is perfect. Super negative comments - regard them with the disdain and ignorance they deserve and just delete, as it seems you do. ... I enjoyed the stamp variety and just seeing them and see some new (to me) stamps in the process. Best wishes here from New Zealand! 🙂

I like your videos. It is very refreshing to see your excitement when opening your boxes and seeing what is in them for the first time. I've been collection upwards of 60 years and don't buy bulk lots anymore. I just might though as I miss it. Even though I know I'll have nearly everything already. If I may make a suggestion that would really make your videos more enjoyable for your listeners. It would very much appreciated if you could edit out the slurping of your coffee, the belches, coughs, etc. Also, and I know this would be extremely difficult but you smack your lips almost every sentence. Probably don't realize you are doing it. It wouldn't be so bad if it was only once in awhile but almost every sentence. I hate to be so picky but those extraneous sounds are irksome. Again, thanks for your vids. I enjoy watching and seeing your enthusiasm. Keep it up.
All English / British stamps values are in Pounds and Pence, not Euro's.

if a mint stamp has an selvage plain[no writing] is it ok to tear it off, does the same apply with used ones?
Now I could be wrong, but I do believe that is purely a matter of preference. I know with some stamps it can matter and generally the catalog will tell you if they are more coveted with the selvage for a specific reason. I have pulled a few off myself in the past.
Today, I tore off the plain selvage on three Namibia stamps I just received. No big deal.

Britain, being the nation that invented postage stamps, is the only country allowed by the Universal Postal Union to not have to actually state their country's name on its stamps.
I have seen your U.S. collection, and I have a very decently advanced mint collection myself. Yours is very respectable, and when idiots choose to denigrate it is VERY counterproductive to the hobby. I can promise you they are pissed at you for having a better collection than they have and are being children.
Nice of you to say! I don't go around putting others down, it would hurt my own self-image. So when some choose to do that to me I assume it's their character flaws shining through. Misery does love company!
