The second the CEO said they would announce more information about the Switch successor "within the fiscal year", should have known that it wouldn't be announced until 2025. Otherwise they would have said by the end of the year and left the fiscal part off.
I'd still be optimistic for an earlier launch than that. Last time they had a trailer in October, big Direct in January and release in March. We all understand the hybrid concept so we don't need that October Direct this time. If they do a big Direct in January like in 2017, I feel there could still be a spring release. But who knows!

There were even third party games coming to switch 2 that said theyd be there on launch that were coming in march, which further backs up the march release date. I imagine now its closer to april/may

@@Ur2ez4me81 Its standard marketing practices, why would you stop people from buying the console over Christmas, usually the busiest sales period as they would be afraid they are buying something that would be old in a couple of months. Not knowing if a second console is coming soon, as its been that way for ages, would leave people to purchase a Switch for Christmas, and then potentially buy the new console as well when released as they are now in the eco system. This would be even more effective if they had some new Christmas bundles or price drops for the holiday period.
new 3D Mario and Ocarina of time remake I'd say reastically. Oh and Mario Kart 9. At least as launch titles, then I'd say an animal crossing and donkey kong games are in the making, and probably a splatoon spin off, personally if a 4th game came out now I wouldn't buy it.

Then people have been asking for a new donkey kong (last one was released 10 years ago like said in the video), they came to realise animal crossing is one of their best selling title and it works great to sell consoles, and I think they want to do something else with splatoon, it has a lot of potential. Apart from the splatoon spin off I'm certain we'll get much of these games for the first year.
It seems Nintendo is just being smart and trying to avoid financial losses on their remaining Switch projects before officially unveiling its successor. Sales trends will likely follow a pattern akin to the 3DS/Switch transition period where consumers drastically lost interest in software for obsolete hardware causing a significant decline in sales for the system's final releases. Things made a little more sense back then as Nintendo needed to preserve good will with their consumers considering the monumental marketing failure that was the Wii U. As for the influx of Donkey Kong games, the Donkey Kong Country Theme Park is scheduled to open 12/11. I assume these releases are low hanging fruit to help promote the grand opening and get fans excited.
Considering Switch games will run on the new console. This alone very much cuts the potential for game financial loses... However, we are talking about customer here. You should never make assumption without proper research. In Nintendo cases, they have seen and had to deal with first what happens when you do define a successor to a console clearly enough for the consumer to understand (3DS and Wii U.) They have also seen what happen where a consoles ends up damaging a handheld says. (The Switch damaged a lot of 3Ds games sales.) Frankly, it is for the best that Nintendo holds off on announcing then releasing a console for as long as possible. Because it allows the inform to save up money to buy said consoles and at least one or two new games, the cost of living has risen so trying to save up money will harder, same with the price of the console as well. It's also the case that Nintendo probably wants to have a repeat of the switch first year where they have a new game for said console coming out each month. Since there need to be a reason to buy said console.
I want to hope that they’ve been so dedicated with all their resources on the amazing new future that they’ve got planned for us, and what they’re releasing in the between now and then is the bare minimum of “announcements” to keep their brand active until the big reveal. The not so positive side of me thinks they’ve got bad leadership and are squandering the hard won good feelings brought on by the Switch’s success.
The only upside of how long this is taking is hopefully there are enough consoles that preordering isn’t an issue. But I really would like an announcement in January please

I'm perfectly fine will my Switch as it is. I have a huge library and play it all the time. I think a large group of people eager for Switch 2 are those without a PS5 or PC. The other group are those wanting new first party Nintendo titles in 4K.
I think, the Amusementpark, the GB Games on Switch Online, and the Re-Re-Release of Returns... All of it together could be a campaign, to increase the fame of DK to get a bigger Fanbase. They need this bigger Fanbase, to guarantee, the new Game on Switch 2 will be extremely successful! ;-)
Hopefully making wireless HDMI glasses to go with the switch 2 or Nintendo just restock the Nintendo64 or the GameCube in all the major retailer stores with all your first party games that would be a gift

If you count Jungle Beat as a mainline Donkey Kong game, this is now the longest gap between them. If you don’t, it’s still probably going to be a shorter gap between DK64 and Returns than between Tropical Freeze and whatever comes next.
Guys.. you're smart and know the industry. There is ZERO chance nintendo will announce the Switch 2 before Christmas because that would impact Switch sales. This is the last Switch Christmas push. They wouldn't jeopardize it
It makes very little financial sense to make an announcement for a new system right before a holiday when the current system is still selling well. Granted Switch was announced when Wii U was in its dying days, but that's an exception. Patience is key!

I've been thinking since about a month ago that there's around a 95% chance that the Switch 2 will be officially revealed at The Game Awards, so until then I'm not expecting anything else.
So many gamers are clamoring for a Switch 2. I don’t think that we necessarily need a Switch 2 yet, but there are some things that Nintendo should have given us by now. We need Wind Waker HD for the Switch. We also need the Wii U version of Punchout ported over to the Switch, or a new Punchout game entirely. They pretty much abandoned the Punchout franchise, despite it being one of their popular franchises. And we also need new content for Super Mario Maker 2 (SMB2, Mario Wonder and start allowing for creation of 3D Mario worlds as well. So content from all of the 3D Mario games). Heck, maybe even just release Super Mario Maker 3 with all of this content already in it. (don’t forget the handheld Mario games as well). We also need online voice chat and achievements. For me, if a game is released on multiple consoles, I will typically skip over the Switch version and pick it up on another console, so that way I can have achievements. New peripherals, such as a light gun. And games like Conker’s Bad Fur Day to come to NSO. Finally, we need a proper VR headset.
I believe that after the dismal Switch Christmas sales Nintendo will finally release the Switch 2 release date. I could see a surprise promo in a Super Bowl ad.
Surely there's a new DK Country game coming out. Either for a late release on Switch then ported to Switch 2, or maybe as a Switch 2 launch title. Kind of special hidden alarm that goes off when switch 2 is announced and wake all the Nintendo fans.
I've been thinking since about a month ago that there's around a 95% chance that the Switch 2 will be officially revealed at The Game Awards, so until then I'm not expecting anything else.
All I've been thinking about is i hope they bring back street pass
So many gamers are clamoring for a Switch 2. I don’t think that we necessarily need a Switch 2 yet, but there are some things that Nintendo should have given us by now. We need Wind Waker HD for the Switch. We also need the Wii U version of Punchout ported over to the Switch, or a new Punchout game entirely. They pretty much abandoned the Punchout franchise, despite it being one of their popular franchises. And we also need new content for Super Mario Maker 2 (SMB2, Mario Wonder and start allowing for creation of 3D Mario worlds as well. So content from all of the 3D Mario games). Heck, maybe even just release Super Mario Maker 3 with all of this content already in it. (don’t forget the handheld Mario games as well). We also need online voice chat and achievements. For me, if a game is released on multiple consoles, I will typically skip over the Switch version and pick it up on another console, so that way I can have achievements. New peripherals, such as a light gun. And games like Conker’s Bad Fur Day to come to NSO. Finally, we need a proper VR headset.
I will say how I’m feeling about Nintendo right now, in song. From the movie Tazan (Strangers Like Me) “I WANNA KNOW!! CAN YOU SHOOOW ME??! “

I believe that after the dismal Switch Christmas sales Nintendo will finally release the Switch 2 release date. I could see a surprise promo in a Super Bowl ad.
I didn’t realize there hasn’t been a new Donkey Kong game in a decade
Surely there's a new DK Country game coming out. Either for a late release on Switch then ported to Switch 2, or maybe as a Switch 2 launch title. With them opening up that DK Land at USJ, they've gotta have plans to capitalize on that and promote the franchise.

I suspect they are going to announce the Switch 2 in the VGA

My prediction still stands, switch two announcement either in March for a fall release or summer or early 2026. Nintendo is paranoid that the switch two will be a wili u and they’re just being careful
