The yard is coming along really very nicely. You have nailed the look of poorly maintained tarmac, spot on. Best I have seen. Not much of a fan of the hill though, as the sides are so steep. Have you considered full height retaining walls next to the curved track and half height on the yard side to allow much shallower slopes?
Thanks Dibs :) I definitely did consider the walls and see what your saying 👍. Have gone this way for two reasons: 1. I want to practice some scenery rather than add more walls and 2. I’ll be going for a more of a “cutting” look as opposed to a field gently sloping down to the track. It’s quite common in Ireland to have a steep slope from the tracks as they are cut into the landscape, especially when coming into urban areas. We’ll see how it turns out, when it’s glued down I might carve it down a bit more - I appreciate the feedback though, thank you!
