I just bought a Mini Cooper S Clubman after having sold my 2017 Subaru. I could not be happier. It's very refined and has zip! Very nice review and I appreciate your enthusiasm for the Mini brand of well built, well developed, fun cars :-)
Hi, I've owned 17 Minis and am just off to buy a Cooper S Clubman to make it 18! My first one was a new Cooper bought in 1965. Ive rallied a 1275 Cooper S. Thanks for your review. 😎🤠
Had my first mini cooper s 45 years ago living in Copenhagen - perfect in the town and on the highway- now I´ve ordered a Clubman Cooper S 2020 - so staying true to the brand....
You are correct! I think she may have been confused, Mini only uses one Turbo and it is the twin scroll. Sadly the clubman has the same HP that I have on my mini Cooper S 2D Hatch, which is adequate for the size and weight. If you're gonna get one of these bad puppies, it would be a good idea to go with the All4 & if you can afford it JCW for that extra HP. This is a heavier car, so you'll need the JCW extra HP.
Getting a mini cooper s exclusive in enigmatic black with 17 inch rail wheels and brown leather seats. Cannot wait until its delivered late Sept. Amazing vid keep up the amazing work xx
I've been driving trucks my entire life. Currently have a crew cab long box, and that makes parking in downtown Orlando quite difficult with my new job. So I have been looking at minis, specifically the clubman as it's the "biggest" mini. Only thing that is stopping me from getting one is that I don't think I'll be able to fit 3 car seats in the back.....
The largest Mini is the Countryman. It will hold three car seats. The Clubman is a little bit smaller and two car seats is probably the max. I suggest taking a countryman for a test drive, I think you’ll see you’re not giving up any of the Mini experience and still meeting your needs. Mini has a great community with fun events. Check out ‘Mini Takes The States”.
I had a 2014 Clubman and drive a 2018 Countryman right now. It's probably the last manual transmission of their's I'll be able to get, and I'm not happy about it. There are more tire companies making the correct size run flat tires now than there used to be and the prices are not too bad.
We are hearing that they are bringing back manuals in 2021. This has been confirmed. I got the best price on run flats for my Mini was at TireRack.com. You’d love Mini Takes The States, great people.
How has your reliability been with your Minis in the past? If I move out of my career in automotive and need to buy a vehicle, I’m extremely interested in the clubman.
Great Job, appreciate quick but complete presentation of details (because folks who go "and,um" "like" or just run on and on, should come with a warning before you watch). I test drove this 2 days ago, loved everything BUT the visibility was absolutely horrid. It was a grey, dreary, rainy day where seeing cars in other lanes was already a bit of a challenge. I was petrified to change lanes unless it was a semi, because of all the blind spots. I was for sure going to purchase this, but am now hesitating. The small mirrors on side don't help the problem either. Larger Coachman doesn't have the issue, BUT can't get it in a manual which puts it out of the running (I mean I am picking this to have fun when I drive!). I didn't see any technological details that would alert you about cars in the blind spots. Are there any? Why do the rear doors have to have that metal beam? Couldn't they put something see through in its place? THANKS.
Great review! I have had a Cooper s and a clubman D. Now I want a Clubman again... but I would like a hybrid! Why are they so slow to get that on the show? 🤹♂️💖🎶
They are just getting hybrids into the marketplace now. I’m not sure what the delay was. But I have a sinking feeling it had to do with government regulations
@@CarCoachReports Yes, but I live in the Arcade area and work in Orchard Park....I'd rather sit a little higher when the snow gets deep with the distance I drive. 😁

@@CarCoachReports Thank you, lady! A good friend of mine loves those things and I was considering buying one for her but was on the fence because of uncertainty with reliability and safety.
It is made by BMW (luxury German automaker) known for reliability issues and high cost to repair. This will be high price maintenance and repair and all those cool features, like barn doors opening remote and little turbo engine are problematic. They are fun and cute, get the extended maintenance plan for sure if you buy.
No worries there, it’s my 2nd but my family and friends have Mini‘s and BMW‘s since I can think ☺️ not more issues than with other brand, I’d say even less then other brands, but as always bad luck and you got a Monday car
I wonder if it would feel quicker without all the add ons: auto transmission, sunroof, power seats, heated seats etc...remove all those would save about 200 lbs...and reduce center of gravity
@@CarCoachReports Yes, most certainly its a personal choice, I do not want a sunroof or automatic...to me, they detract from the nature of the Mini brand.
No android Auto for the mini‘s; also The HUD is not possible in the window, it is simply to steep. Also no twin Turbo, it‘s got one twin screw turbo, and this config is over the top, so for euros around 50 k, if you find a 1 year old go for it ;)

We own a Clubman S and a JCW 2 door. The Clubman its self rides better. The increase in cost would only make sense if you want the power. Both ride equally in Green Mode. We’ve owned Minis since 2002 when they returned to the US.
Do 2015+ Clubmans use the more reliable N18 engine? I've got a bud who's slowly getting his feet wet with really getting into cars. Not to work on and upgrade/tinker with but just spirited driving on occasion then reliably taking him to the grocery store and back (or cross country). So are the 2015+ Clubmans a pretty hands-off car to own or do they have quirky and costly issues that will show up regardless of routine maintenance? (Like melty thermostat housings, etc)
It depends on the model and if you’re looking at a manual or an automatic transmission. Is there a specific vehicle you’re looking at?
