Went to a workshop and they encouraged panning kick and bass. Learned that way is not recommended and decided to learn how to correctly approach it, and this video helps. Thank you so much!

I also recommend chopping the bass drum sound and tuning it to the key of the song. That gives them more punch and helps them to lock in with the bass. Sometimes adding a sub bass to the bass sound also helps. I also use Kickstart and LFO Tool for sidechaining instead of the compressor.
