Yes, there are 2 or 3 videos on my UA-cam channel that I posted In January or February of 2020. Those videos share what I like to use when I hike, backpack or kayak. Hope you enjoy your hikes.
That's a good question. I have been calling a shallow canyon or wash on the side of a mountain a draw since I was a kid. I have even seen the word in some western novels referencing the same type of geography. So I looked it up in the dictionary because you asked the question. It doesn't show up with that definition or anything similar to that definition in Dictionary.com. I think that's kind of funny. Maybe I have been using it incorrectly my whole life.🙂
I did find this on Wikipedia "terrain feature formed by two parallel ridges or spurs with low ground in between them. The area of low ground itself is the draw". Whew, I was worried there for a minute.
Fantastic views and commentary of an iconic Valley hike. Thanks for consistent high quality videos.
Another Instant Classic!
My favorite hike in the valley.
Its a great hike, we took the right draw and found the views at the top exhilarating.
Nice hike!
Enjoyed this one. Never went up the left side. Great views! Next time I do this hike I’ll try that way.

I’ve been there myself a few times greater area😊
It is the petrified remains of a mile high tree. That is why so many columns look like old wood. Those were the days my friend.
What is a draw? Just a wash that comes off a mountain? Or is it spring fed?

The lower smooth rock canyon is known as Siphon Draw. The large flat area on top is known as Flatiron.
This is not the Superstition summit though.
He did share the locations for a reason
Great locations are never easy to get too, if they were they would be packed with people.
No! It is called: The not so curious mountains. Renamed in 2018. Please update this post to reflect the correct wording, Thank you.
