Thank you Fran! All of the stories and fabric pieces sent in from your Subcribers certainly made for enjoyable listening and three great fabric matching challenges for you. Each quilt turned out just right and did honor the memories of those making these quilts. My mother passed away 5 years ago. I know she would have loved to have the Peace and Tranquilty quilt. I was so surprised how you solved this matching issue. What a beauty this quilt will truly be for everyone making it, I just loved the water colour floral fabric and the cherished batik.
I have to agree with Patti . Fran you show so much empathy when creating matches for the fabric. That Jacobs Latter is very very beautiful 😍. You have a true gift 💝 from the Almighty. God bless your heart ❤️.
Fran, you show real empathy when creating matches and choosing patterns to suit these very special stories. Seriously, I was moved to tears. Your flip flop for Antonia's fabric was right on point. Hopefully through piecing these quilts together, your viewers can find solace.
Three touching, and beautiful stories. Perfect choices on patterns, and fabrics Fran. I've made 4 quilts since my mom/quilting teacher passed away a few years ago. Each one has a treasured fabric from her stash. I can hear her encouraging words guiding me along. Thank you Fran!
What lovely fabrics you have chosen. I think your matching fabrics is a gift. They are so memory minded. Your kind heart also adds to the show. Thank you so much.
The story about the lady's mother really touched me. My mother was legally blind with macular degeneration, and lived with me after my father's passing. She knit and crocheted, while I was always a quilter. A couple years before her death, she wanted to make a crazy quilt, so I collected velvets and satins and sewed them together in crazy quilt layouts. I then collected lace, buttons, sheers (with cobwebs), etc. and she did all the stitching and embellishments using her strongest glasses with a jeweler's loupe attached for even more magnification. She was in and out of the hospital and rehab centers for most of her last year, but she managed to finish 12 blocks a little at a time. I put them together with black sashing and a rich burgundy velvet border and back. I had a label embroidered with her name and the year. I took the finished quilt to her in the nursing home and she had it on her bed for her last two months. Today, it is always close by and the memories of us making the project together are always with me. Thank you for helping others with memory quilts. They are special in ways few people can appreciate because they are made with so much love.
You do such an amazing job in matching fabrics. I love watching the program. I need to get busy with my stack of quilt bundles from fariccafe. I think I have 31 kits to get started with. Love to you and Donna
