    Most of your "just talking about something" videos are quite enjoyable and informative

    It's always fun to go back and take a look at what you are creating back then when you were younger happy early interested to see your designs 👍👍

    Hey Dan, that’s a pretty cool video. I enjoy finding old track plans and exploring the “what was I thinking” 😂. As always, great stuff!

    I'd definitely like to see more videos like these. Your quick reviews are always awesome but I also like looking at things you've done like in this case with a bit more slower tone. Another example would be your custom painted/built locos which you've done videos about when you were active elsewhere on UA-cam. All layouts and models either built or only planned have stories and I always like to hear them.

      I appreciate the feedback. I will probably do some more like this, and maybe some more showcasing my finished models as well. I have quite a few old track plans to share. Thanks for watching!

    I enjoyed seeing this track plan from your younger years. Maybe you should attempt to rebuild it again and see how it turns out. just food for thought

      I think I would want to rethink the plan for the reasons I discussed in the video, but doing something like it could be fun. Thanks for watching!

    As someone who enjoys switching operations and volunteers at a streetcar museum as an operator, I have to say I quite like the idea of this layout. I think of the switching tracks were moved closer to the foreground and you had smaller houses or buildings the reaching problem might not be too much of an issue. Will definitely consider this when I build my layout someday.

    Fascinating video of your travels in the hobby. Interestingly, I am modeling a seaport wharf scene as we speak!

      There are so many neat things you can do scenically with a harbor. That's one reason I repeated that theme with the Siren Creek build. Good luck with your layout. Thanks for watching!

    It’s good to keep a few sketches, ideas we once had. I did some similar, but not nearly as detailed as yours. Kudos on the show, was interesting…

    Dan, I can relate to this, as I grew up in my parent's farm house and lived there up through my college years at Ohio University and my room measured 10' 7" x 10' 4" and though I belonged to a model railroad club, I wanted something of my own. I was in HO scale, so I had an impossible task. I ended up just building the most detailed diesel service area I could, so I could move some of my locomotives around. I ended up in the NMRA Division 6 in Columbus, Ohio running on the huge HO module layout at the time, where it would handle four 100 car trains at a time. So I built a lot of equipment that was stored at the time.

      Model railroading is a journey, isn't it? I look back at all the things I've tried to build, and even if they didn't get completed, I learned something. I've gone through periods of being mostly an equipment modeler, too. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching!

    Dan, I believe Nichole needs an N Scale traction layout. Something about 2'x4' that you all could take to train shows. Think of it as the other end of the line for your North Coast RR.

    • @DanielCortopassi
      @DanielCortopassi  4 місяці тому +1

      Funny you should mention that. I ran across a plan for a tiny N scale traction layout that I drew around the same time. Maybe I'll do a video on that sometime. It's basically just a loop with a carbarn, going around a city block. I think the structure building opportunities could be really cool. Thanks for watching!

    I plan on creating a small temporary layout set in the period of 1905-1909. The layout will feature a Civil War-era 4-4-0 locomotive that has been updated for early 20th-century use. The rolling stock will include a boxcar, a stock car, a flatcar, and an RPO baggage-passenger combine. For the passenger car, I hope to get a custom 3D-printed body and use either Central Valley trucks or Walthers trucks.

    • @DanielCortopassi

      I have no control over what ads UA-cam shows you. The only options are to monetize or not monetize the video, and if the video is longer than 8 minutes, whether to allow ads in the middle of the video, which I haven't been doing. Thanks for watching!
