Thanks for the videos and congratulations! The bike IRIS is beautiful. I'd say it's understated (but not minimalist). Really easy to admire. Such attention to detail. You must be very proud.
Cheers, Eric! Thanks for following along. Hopefully you'll like the Moto vlogs I'll be releasing next spring. I should have a bunch of videos coming out over the winter also.
Absolutely AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL! I JUST discovered you and binge watched your ENTIRE series from start to finish! FANTASTIC! You deserve exponentially more subscribers than you have, and I am certainly now one of them! You have done what is only still a DREAM for me. Something that has been on my "Bucket List" for quite some time. I actually would be STARTING with more experience than you STARTED with, having done a few 2-stroke engine top ends (much less complex), and other minor repairs as a KID 35 years ago when I raced motocross. I have NO idea how those bikes actually RAN though, after I got done each time. And, because of all the intervening 35 or so years, at 51 years old now, I am, again, a CLUELESS BEGINNER (unlike you, now an expert). I don't know that I could ever achieve your level that you achieved on this bike (my dream being to restore vintage DUAL-SPORT and DIRT bikes). I have FOUR rare and vintage dirt and dual sport bikes (2-stroke and 4-stroke) from the 70s and 80s now ready for me to have the courage to begin on. I ONLY JUST got a building to do the work in though, and it still has some interior finishing work that needs to be done, but I'm basically ready to go. My challenge though is that, here in rural Southwest Georgia (almost in Florida and almost in Alabama), I have pretty much no one to come to my rescue like a Jeff Busche if I screw up. My mistakes could be huge and permanent. Still though, I "rediscovered" motorcycling again after decades, a year and a half ago, largely because of my autistic son, and to my great surprise, it has turned out to also be a passion for him, even though he was initially TERRIFIED to even sit on a motorcycle with the engine OFF. He warmed up to it quickly though, and eventually took to riding "like a fish to water". In a very closed-off world, there is little of the "real world" he connects with. Having recently beaten cancer (just barely), he is full of life and energy again, now that the damage done by the chemo is finally starting to heal and correct itself, and we are looking for new and amazing things to get involved with TOGETHER, and so, with his passion for motorcycles on a level with mine, it is my DREAM to now properly learn motorcycle repair and restoration, starting with the bikes we already have, and since "life skills" and "social skills" are going to be his major obstacles in life because of his autism, I want to SIMULTANEOUSLY teach my son these amazing life skills while I learn them at the same time. I feel these would be worthy life goals for him, for us, effectively beginning his (our) life over again. Our challenge is of course, being so remote and isolated, and not having mentors to stop us before making really big and expensive mistakes. I wish I could do a Skype "lesson" with someone on a weekly basis or similar, but everyone I've asked on UA-cam that has proven success with restorations has kindly and regretfully turned me down simply because they don't have time. I totally get it though. Nobody has TIME any more. I can relate. My work schedule is also insane... Anyway... THANKS SO MUCH for your videos! I have learned a TON, and these are some of the BEST VIDEOS ON UA-cam, and I've seen a LLLOT of them! Most channels go quiet. Most disappear or just stop posting. You've actually seen yours ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO COMPLETION!!! BRAVO!!! 😊😊😊
+Steve Hacker Steve, I'm not even sure where to begin to respond to your super heartfelt message other than to simply say Thank You! You seem like a straight shooter and it's a nice idea that you and your son will work on these bikes together. As for the online lessons, I can relate to the no time thing and have spent many many weeks, days & hrs creating these videos to inspire and teach others. So all the knowledge is there.. I plan on making a lot more in the future but for now, as winter grips my lands, I've had to take a step back. Thank you kindly for your comment and I wish you all the luck in the world with the upcoming projects!
OJ dude YYYEP! There's a jealous fucktard troll in every bunch... By all means, OJ, please show us YOUR videos of your amazing work... @Saturdays Wrench, just go ahead and delete this slime ball who's just a waste of bandwidth...
A beautiful looking bike, congrats and kudos to you Sir, am nearly at the end of my own from the ground up rebuild, and know how much effort and money it takes to produce something as high quality as that.
Looks great!!!! Love the 70's esque scheme on the tank. You must be pretty happy :D Curious to see those M-blazes going. I need to pick on you about your rear set mounting sometime, mine are in the mail but I'm baffled at how to mount them properly. Will see what hardware they come with.
Cheers Cal! I am planning on shooting a few night vids. The lights look rad! The rear sets should come with instructions or a link to a video where you can watch the manufacturer mount them. It will all makes sense when you see the hardware. Best of luck with it!
What's up Zach! I'm hoping to bust her out ASAP!! She's been hibernating for too long while I had to deal with some home renos. I still need to fine tune the carbs and get her going though. This will all happen very very soon!
brother I got to tell you that two years you spent on that bike absolutely looks like it because that is one gorgeous bike my man, I really really like your paint scheme on that gas tank I would have never thought of that, brother I just got to say that bike is bitchin, very well-thought-out, I have a 1970 cb350 of my own that I want to try and do something like this on my gas tank, congratulations brother, have fun and be safe with Iris my man, and I'm just noticing the paint stripes on the tank, are those the colors of the Honda motorcycles of the 70s, like the candy red, candy gold, and the flake sunrise orange, if that is where you got the idea from for those stripes on the tank that is absolute genius brother, I fucking love it!
The bike looks incredible, I've been following the build for quite some time now and you've given me such an amazing amount of inspiration. One question, What exhaust is that you've fitted?
Hey man... great job. I'm particularly interested in the M Unit, my next investment for my 78 750. You did a great job outlining that hardware for sure. Keep it coming. I'm signed up and watching.
Need info on three items please: What do you intend to do with the OEM factory right left exhausts? Please show from where you guided/routed the starter cable to the relay? Where did you procure the tank decals?
1 - sell em! 2 - I went down the right side of the main verticle part in the middle of the frame, down underneath the engine (where the original cable sits) towards the front of the engine then up and around the the starter motor 3 - the tank decals are the original decals from the bike when I purchased it
Great work! Anymore updates coming on how she is running after some miles have been put on her? Likes, dislikes, lessons learned , etc. Would love to hear some hifi engine/exhaust note recordings!
+Hunter Longshore definitely making videos on ALL that stuff in the near future. Life has been a bit crazy this year. But that is the plan. Still have not put too many miles on the bike. Just got her out of storage last wk.. next wk will be a road break in! Excited for that! Will make a video!
Saturdays Wrench, I completely understand. I was impressed at the consistency you were able to maintain through the documented build. My K3 project will be at the 2 year mark in a few months, and I'm still doing frame mods! Hoping to hear her run by the end of the year. Look forward to hearing and seeing more of Iris! Any new projects on the horizon?
Yep! When I was working on the bike I had way more time. Now I have a house and a puppy and a group of friends who all decided to get married this summer! It's been jam packed and expensive! You really just have to pencil your garage time in and stick to it as best as possible! I would also keep pictures around of inspiration of the finished bike and that helped me a lot. I'm getting close with the tuning but it's been a long process. I did pick up a new Triumph in the spring but won't start mods until next spring or summer probably. Nothing too major like a rebuild or anything though.
Great videos!! Wish I seen them sooner. I am in middle of putting together CB250G ( same as 360 ) The Bike looks fantastic and everything is so proffessional. Music you choose for IRIS is also nice ( what is it? ) I will try to build my own harness like you recommended. Thanks again and thanks for taking your time for making these videos! All best from Iceland
+IcelandDive Thanks! Iceland is on my travel list, looks beautiful. I cannot recall the name of the tune but I found it for free from the UA-cam free music library. I'll try to dig up the name for you. Best of luck with your harness.
Tony, Great job on the bike. I hope my 69 turns out half as well. I continually watch you videos for tips and inspiration. What type of exhaust is that? I haven't seen it on the videos. Again thanks for you contribution to helping noobs around the world.
+snuffelsuf I wish bud! Been swamped with house reno work! Hopefully in the next 2 wks. I'm dying to get back on her but I also need a kitchen also! Lol
+Axel Feurst no I actually had someone make it bc I was too overwhelmed with all the other things I needed to do and I wanted it to turn out well.. I'm going to remake a different seat over the winter with a small cowl.
I had a friend source it for me. It’s from an old Triumph I believe. The frame diameter was the same. It’s honestly not the best though. I need to tilt it a little so there’s not such a risk of it bending back.
Great work man! But what happened to your Motogadget gauge?! I just ordered one so I was hoping to see the install process, especially the magnetic reed switch speedo sensor. Either way, really clean build and super informative. Thanks!
+Tom Caridi coming soon! I had to put the bike away for winter. Then I moved and have been balls deep in a serious house reno. Will get back to finishing the bike asap.
Beautifull overall, the seat is too long for one sitter bike but I see that you are planning to change it, also think about head light, in my opinion is too big for the size of the bike (but is only my opinion) Iris is a good looking one however
+Silver And Ashes Still in tuning process. Had to store her for the winter last November then dealt with a busy home reno all spring and into summer. Broke her out of storage last wk finally and am continuing the tuning.. also dealing with a sticky throttle at the moment. Will be posting a video soon!
I will never sell this bike! Even though she's being a bit of a bitch lol.. She runs really well at times and horribly at other times. People told me the tuning process is painful but this is crazy! It's a very very difficult thing to nail if you've never done it before.
+Richard Powell haha you're the best. I know! Life has been full on for me lately so I haven't been able to get into the garage at all. Hopefully in the next few wks tho. I still need to finish tuning and build the seat cowl. Thx for checking bud!
The tank looks incredible. 70's for days!
Thanks! Definitely wanted to keep that 70s feel! Glad you like it.
This is absolutely amazing. I strive to do such incredible work when I become older.
Thanks for the compliment!
The tank is amazing, what a nice choice! Have fun riding, it's been a fun build to follow.
+Mat B cheers Mat! Still a few more things to do over winter!
Thanks for the videos and congratulations! The bike IRIS is beautiful. I'd say it's understated (but not minimalist). Really easy to admire. Such attention to detail. You must be very proud.
+Warren Crosbie Thanks Warren.. very proud. I can't wait to ride her next summer. Stay tuned for some moto vlogs. Thanks for the support.
Looks great man! Love the grey and the colored stripes. Super cool!
I probably wouldn't ride it but just stare at it all day.
Ya but it's so fun to ride too!
Awesome mate. That was fantastic. So much help and inspiration.
Kudos.
+stu barker Cheers bud!
oh very yes. top job, loved the series. good work there chief.
Thanks! Plenty more to come, though. Thanks for following along!
Awesome! kept the 70s vibe with those tank graphics, sweet.
Thanks Frank! That was the goal.
Saturdays Wrench It's just the sort of thing I'm looking to add to my CB360 project. I'll have to look for someone local to me to manufacture one.
Stunning bike there mate.. well done !!
Thanks man!
Awesome job man! Very clean bike.
Thats one sexy looking IRIS! Well done ! Love the paint job
Congrats !!!
Beauty!!! Wow love the colour choice. I've been waiting a long Time to see this bike together. Looks awesome. Great Job.
Cheers, Eric! Thanks for following along. Hopefully you'll like the Moto vlogs I'll be releasing next spring. I should have a bunch of videos coming out over the winter also.
It's to bad us Canadians can't ride all year round. 😥😥
Badass dude, I love the paint scheme!!

Dude nice vids and beautiful bike... Sadly I already saw the last video but I'm gonna watch all your videos! Thumbs up from Germany!
+Kiddo Bill Danke!

Droooool! She is looking bad to tha bone! every bit of effort shows.....just wow!
Thanks man! I'm overwhelmed by the positive response.
DAMN I wish my 73 350 looked this good
From a shop that does this a lot. Great job!!! super clean and runs great. Ill be doing the moto gadget on my next build.
Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words. For sure, Motogadget stuff is really great!
😍 I only watched this 100x's today
haha I must admit that I find myself just staring at the bike at times too!

Well done! Can't wait to see the riding blogs :)
Definitely a bunch of those coming in the next riding season! Cheers bud!
Beautiful! What headlight is that if u don't mind me asking?
It's the LSL headlight from Cognito Moto.
AMAZING!! Where and when can I see IRIS... I believe Scarlett wants to ride along side! gimmie a heads up.
What's up Zach! I'm hoping to bust her out ASAP!! She's been hibernating for too long while I had to deal with some home renos. I still need to fine tune the carbs and get her going though. This will all happen very very soon!

Ok I hope you still have my email address. If you are selling the mufflers I would be interested in them please.
absolutely. Would you mind sending me an email so I can respond? I get a lot of emails and apologize if I can't remember yours.

+Brian Badovin Cheers Brian! I appreciate the kind words. We all have to start somewhere right?!
Are you planning on completing another restoration any time soon?
+Ben Zhuk Not sure, Ben. Probably in a year or so. My next little project will be modifying a more modern bike that I'm hoping to pick up this spring.
Perfection!! bro i want your motorcycle!!
haha Thanks! I think I'll be holding on to this one for a while :P
have you been puttin miles on it........mines gonna be ready in a week or so...i think NH has aboot the same weather as where you are
+snuffelsuf I wish bud! Been swamped with house reno work! Hopefully in the next 2 wks. I'm dying to get back on her but I also need a kitchen also! Lol
Super cool! Did you make the seat yourself?
+Axel Feurst no I actually had someone make it bc I was too overwhelmed with all the other things I needed to do and I wanted it to turn out well.. I'm going to remake a different seat over the winter with a small cowl.
Well it's an awesome bike anyhow! Looking for similar results with my CB125 build.
OOOHHH MMYYYY GGOODD!!
Hey! What exhaust set up did you use? I like it a lot and was wanting some more details
+Ian Malis it's a custom one off exhaust. I had a exhaust technician build it for me.
So where's the follow up??? Did it ever drive ?
I've been desperately trying to get a video out. It drives!! Haven't had much time this summer but hoping to get it going again soon.
What happened? Been waiting to hear this bike and see it go.
Hey man! Where did you find that bolt-on kickstand?
I had a friend source it for me. It’s from an old Triumph I believe. The frame diameter was the same. It’s honestly not the best though. I need to tilt it a little so there’s not such a risk of it bending back.

+María Mallón thanks for your opinion. I agree on most parts.. I can deal w the headlight tho for now. Cheers!
It's been a year. How about an update? And the promised carb video!
Yes! Getting to that asap! Posting a riding video then the carb one as soon as I finish editing.
I'd like to know how much the tank getting painted cost.
Frig I can’t remember. More than $300, less than $500. Something in the range.
@@SaturdaysWrench that's not terrible at all.
What has happened since the completion?
+Silver And Ashes Still in tuning process. Had to store her for the winter last November then dealt with a busy home reno all spring and into summer. Broke her out of storage last wk finally and am continuing the tuning.. also dealing with a sticky throttle at the moment. Will be posting a video soon!

Iris is ....Hot!
Very professional job, how much for bike ? I'm buying from you just give me price ;) - we require more footage you riding on IRIS.
hahaha Sorry bud, not for sale. I will definitely be shooting plenty of riding footage. Thanks for following along!
When are you gonna drive the fuckin' thing?
+mustardbackpack Whens there's no fucking snow and ice on the fucking road so I don't fucking kill myself. We get proper winters in Canada.
Would like to know the performance is like on the bike. I owned a "69 back then and went all over the country in it. Great job
Can you buy another barn find bike please, I'm bored .........
+Richard Powell haha you're the best. I know! Life has been full on for me lately so I haven't been able to get into the garage at all. Hopefully in the next few wks tho. I still need to finish tuning and build the seat cowl. Thx for checking bud!
No worries mate hope your well!
+Richard Powell you too bud!
Bike looks great man, good job.
