Ann Wilson is indeed that Ann Wilson. Considering she is in her early 70's, I can't believe - but I am very pleased that her vocals are still this strong. Absolutely epic collab.

On their current tour, they're playing this live with Moriah Formica of Plush (supporting Disturbed along with FiR) and Moriah absolutely lives up to Ann's vocal talents. Such a beautiful song. Oh, and Moriah and Plush cover Barracuda!! If you haven't checked out Plush, Moriah's belts are chilling!
There was an interview on this song about Disturbed. Ann Wilson commented on how talented David Draiman vocals are. David Draiman asked Ann Wilson to be a guest vocalist to this ballad. Obviously she said yes and was honored to sing with Disturbed. A legend in Ann Wilson was honored mind blowing

Disturbed's Divisive album was four years in the making, during which two of the band members' marriages broke down. Drummer Mike Wengren got divorced early in the pandemic and guitarist Dan Donegan went through a split in early 2022.
This song is about a disintegrating relationship where each party struggles with letting go. It was inspired by the ending of Donegan's marriage.
"That was a really personal one for me," Dan Donegan told Billboard. "During COVID-19, I was going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage. Part of that divorce process is that there was still a great deal of love we have for each other, and we couldn't imagine our lives without each other. Just that letting go, letting somebody go that you still love, but maybe the marriage just might not be working anymore... It was touching on that. It was just very personal."
Donegan came up with the concept, then wrote the lyrics with Disturbed singer David Draiman. "I threw a few lines at him, and he took the ball and ran with it." Donegan said.
Then Feb 2023 David Draimen also got divorced.
Ann is my rock queen! I love her voice so much and I couldn't wait for this album to drop (Nov 22) when I saw David and Ann would be singing together. The video just dropped, but the song's been out for awhile. Ann just keeps adjusting her voice as she gets older to get the absolute best out of her vocal abilities at any given time. Women's voices drop when they get older and she's always had a glorious husky, warm (alto?) voice, but could belt it high, as well. She can still belt, it's just not at the higher notes like it used to be. Ann is the only person to be featured on any Disturbed album in their whole career, so that tells you what they think of her. Two of my favorite voices together ... such a treat!
I turned 55 last year and when I was growing up Ann Wilson, Joan Jet and Pat Be star were my heroses!
They were doing a contest to fly people out to the disturbed show in Nashville to promote this song. Sadly I live in Nashville and couldn’t go to the show. The way the promoted it made me think she’d be there.

Yes, there's no mistaking Ann Wilson of Heart and her powerhouse voice. Do yourself a favor and become more familiar with her decades of amazing stuff. I love this woman! I wouldn't say her instrument is 100% of what it was, but it's still a force of nature. And beyond power, Ann is an incredible musician who knows how to lead us on an emotional journey. She's the best! Try the Alive in Seattle concert, she's at the top of her game there.

Anne Wilson has been in the music business for nearly 50 years now.
Yes it is Anne Wilson she is 76 years old. Her sister the second part of heart Nancy Wilson is 69 years old. They were performing at the Kennedy Center of performing arts to honor Led Zeppelin into the Kennedy center honors and she’s saying their song stairway to Heaven along with her sister. It’s spectacular. You should look it up for a possible reaction. These ladies have not lost their gift. It’s a live performance so there’s no cheating.

The song was inspired by the divorces of drummer Mike Wengren and guitarist Dan Donegan in the last few years. I think David also split up recently too. David and Ann had connected via socials when Disturbed released Sound of Silence. They approached her with the idea, and she was all-in.
David did get divorced recently. I guess Mike and Danny wrote the song together and then when Dave told them about his split they showed it to him because he could relate to it at that point.
I knew about David Draiman splitting up with his wife but not Mike and Dan both going through divorces as well. Love Disturbed so much.

This is an amazing combination of two pure and powerful "Rock" voices (Ann & David). Great song and fantastic performance! As you have probably seen in previous comment, you are right that Ann Wilson is from Heart. This was written about the guitarist’s divorce.
When you get older your technique will improve but if you don't keep up with your voice and exercise it regularly it will atrophy just like any muscle in the body. Also you need to take good care of your voice and not abused it so a lot of artists as they get older lose a lot of their vocal tone because they party too much they live too hard etc.

It's interesting to me that David Draiman definitely doesn't use auto tune. I can tell because I have perfect pitch and he is frequently micro tones off in this song. They could have corrected it but they didn't. I would normally find it annoying but in this day and age of production destroying the soul of music, I am glad it's slightly off.
