It’s actually quite funny to see that Acrylamide classification as a CMR compound, which stands for carcinogenic, mutagen and reprotoxic is much pointed out, as well as the rest of its toxicity, on the French Wikipedia page of the compound but on the English page it’s more debatable. Still, as a scientist you have to be careful before spreading the kind of information that may possibly mislead people when the information is not completely based on several studies or when studies say “further researches are needed“ Another thing is that even if acrylamide is carcinogenic does not mean it is good for your health
Actually, I'm not very sure about these. The first two probably are fine, but the third one, especially on plastic, U of California just released a warning ("Why you need to STOP microwaving plastic") clip a week ago. It's not exactly about cancer, but saying no chemicals released into the food is not correct--a large amount of microplastics are indeed released into the food. You can UA-cam the title to find the clip.
How valid is it to give the null hypothesis that "no chemicals are released". Won't it be more scientific to say that they had not been able to find the evidence that any chemicals are released. I am deeply sceptical about the validity of the third hypothesis.
I agree with you on microwaves and microplastics. Microplastics even enter food from just regular packaging that hasn't been heated. The microplastic is "phthalates". This microplastic is in virtually every plastic packaging. Now imagine what happens when you heat plastic.

I get around it by exclusively using metal containers to heat food in the microwave. We sure do get through a few microwave ovens, but so far no cancer.
When it comes glucose/sugar and plastics they can cause and raise the risk of inflammation, which *can* raise the risk of and even cause cancer, impact your immune system, and etc but the risk is low and/or dependent on the individual. More so, consistent and regular use vs occasional or even rare consumption is a major factor too. Smoking for example causes inflammation and other chemicals can directly damage DNA in our lungs leading to cancer, but some individuals just don’t get it while others who don’t smoke can still lung cancer (such as men with breast cancer). Athletes can and do still get diabetes. At the end of the day it’s all about risk, with different classes easing and associated with increased risk.
BBC? Im 34 now. I only knew of your existence when the Pandemic hit. I went to college at the age of 17. I we had good internet connection when I was 16 and I saw this? I'd do my best to end up either as a doctor or a chemical engineer. Σ>―(〃°ω°〃)♡→ thanks for this
"The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a British public service broadcaster headquartered at Broadcasting House in London, England. Originally established in 1922 as the British Broadcasting Company, it evolved into its current state with its current name on New Year's Day 1927. The oldest and largest local and global broadcaster by stature and by number of employees, the BBC employs over 21,000 staff in total, of whom approximately 17,900 are in public-sector broadcasting." Do you have evidence to back up your opinion? From what I could find out in the case of sugar it is a question of consuming excess calories in the form of sugar that causes cancer but that could apply to other foods. There is no credible evidence that mobile phones cause cancer. Some studies suggest burnt food may cause cancer but the evidence is weak.
Why do ya think so? It would be more helpful to provide insight on why you are skeptical with some explanation as to why. The only thing I may disagree with them on is microwaving and that's because of microplastics.
Can you explain why ? Do you have proof they are wrong? Do you have scientific references ? Are you a scientist? Following your path is i should say « after reading your comment i can say that you are stupid ..i feel it! « That is the way you interact here ! Just Giving your impression , no explanation.
There are many types of cancer. Some of them have a very large genetic factor and therefore can also harm young people. But most cancers do not harm young people
The fact that these 3 items were selected out of the blue and the topic too is just very co incidental now people are becoming wary of sugar, makes me wonder if there could be a conspiracy involved.
Out of the blue? In which way cancer is a recent thing? And sugar? It has been years of people saying that sugar is poison. If this is the first time you have heard of sugar blamed for cancer (and for many bad things on the planet), you haven't been paying attention, and that's all the conspiracy that is. I highly recommend you the channel Tasting History with Max Miller, which has a couple of well-researched videos on sugar history; you'll see it has caused many evils you haven't heard about. The other recommendation is the channel SciShow. Its main host, Hank Green, was diagnosed with cancer, had his treatment, and is currently cancer-free. As a science communicator, Mr. Green has made a bunch of videos about cancer, including the sugar-cancer relationship, both in the main channel as in his own channel: hankchannel, and the one he shares with his brother, writer and activist John Green: vlogbrothers. You may find out that, if your first idea to explain anything is "conspiracy!" you don't know enough about the subject. Good luck.

Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Also, for burnt meat, the chemicals are HCAs and PAHs, both are associated with cancer, according to UCLA Health.

It’s complicated, right? Even the ones that study and inform about these topics, contradict themselves. Who should we trust?
Some people do drink more than 14 cans of diet fizzy drinks in a day.
That's more than 4.5 litres. How large are the bladders of these cola guzzlers?
Bad for your teeth as well and untreated bad teeth can impact your circulation.
What about nitrates, nitrites and other preservatives?

0:32 I will probably trust you, but you are not answering the question: How does one separate the myth from the reality?
It was a rhetorical question. The point of the video is just three things that won't give you cancer.
1. Sugar
2. Mobile Phones
3. Burnt Food
Just for the record. I completely disagree. I believe this video is rubbish.
Agreed.

I find this video misleading in some ways and can lead people astray.
Number one thing that caused the cancer is ageing.
