3rd shot drive isn't banging. Bangers are the ones driving 5th shots, 7th shots, 9th shots that are knee-high or lower because they can't or refuse to learn how to drop. The goal of a 3rd shot drive is to get an easier 5th shot drop, off a deep return of serve. Alternatively, if the return of serve is short and high, that's a very attackable ball, and should be driven by anyone looking to improve. The entire reason this happens is because of how difficult it is to hit a perfect 3rd shot drop from the baseline at the pro level. John Cincola and Zane Navratil both have great videos on this topic. Throughout this entire match, you almost never saw QD hit a 5th shot drive, and he absolutely didn't play "banger" pickleball. His playstyle was almost all drive -> drop -> dink until a pop-up (outside of lobs in games 4/5).
Right on, but on these given points you see the tactics that do allow you to overcome hard shots strategically. He's not saying it will work every time, but if you don't have some strategy you won't have a chance. Even in the last point here you see Klinger trying to drop in order to counter Tyson and Tardio's hard attacks and slow it down, it just didn't work because Klinger's drops were too high.
He's a banger too 😂😂
Haha 🤣 yes, he can be. Frankly, all PPA pros are. I heard when they play 4.0’s they just bang to win.

How to beat bangers??? They lost 11 - 4 11 - 6 and won 12 - 10 11 - 8, the total score is 40 - 33 for the bangers.
