Try to break the mid smoke/reveal right when the heaven molly is fading and CT mid players want to peek highway. Giving the CTs a false sense of secutity and striking a bit delayed seems to be meta on Ancient right now.

in csgo it was all pew-pew puff-puff, not more than a handful of smokes needed for decent play.
cs2 is 4D chess

Endgame CSGO was like that as well tbf but now because of open skyboxes there's a lot more verstile nades. It's really cool though! I remember CS in 2015 being the exact way you describe it its crazy to see how it changed over the years.
