- Hello everyone! This is a weird announcement for me to make. It's gonna be very disappointing to a lot of people, and I really do apologise for this. However I think it is time for me to move on from making UA-cam content. I'm NOT moving away from Geometry Dash, as I've talked about my plans extensively for a while now about a new hardest, and a bunch of other levels I want to beat, however making UA-cam videos just isn't for me anymore. I don't want to come of as ungrateful, I really don't, so I hope that my explanation is sufficient enough for you to understand my decision. My passion for Geometry Dash has always been the driving force behind me making UA-cam videos. I never started UA-cam with the passion for video creating. I started making videos because I wanted to share my passion for Geometry Dash. Over the past year or 2, I have compromised that passion with making videos I haven't had interest in with the purpose of making videos because it's been my job. It's not that I hate doing this. Don't get me wrong. I made the videos because I wanted to share these things. however my passion for GD has become more focused lately. I do not enjoy covering topics I have no interest in, and I've had to make a compromise in what I want to share as a means to make enough videos to keep up my schedule. I'm not under any illusion, and I am well aware of the fact that I would have to inevitably move on with my life, as UA-cam would never be sustainable for my entire life, however the choice to move on as early as I am may be a weird one to many. The decision to move on from UA-cam as my job, and re-focus my channel on uploading completions with a review at the end is a decision I made to stop compromising my love for Geometry Dash simply to do a job. My personal belief in life is to enjoy what you do. I have never been in it for money, and now that my passion is being surpressed for the sake of uploading videos without any passion put into it, I think it is better to move on to a different part of my life. This is not to say I'm quitting Geometry Dash - as I've implied my passion for the game is arguably at an all time high. I just wish to move on to playing the game for fun again, and upload completions of levels I think are cool, and talk about them. UA-cam has been my job for the past 4 years now, and it has truly been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I owe Geometry Dash and this community so much, which is what makes this such a difficult thing to do. Part of me feels like I'm giving up, but another part of me tells me that I am doing what is best for me. I hope you guys understand this decision, and I hope you will support it. I am not leaving, and I will continue streaming, as well as uploading my completions, but UA-cam is no longer going to be my job. Sorry to those of you who find comfort in my UA-cam videos, but I hope the more than 1000 videos I have made still brings you joy. I might upload a highlight video for levels that are special to me, but it won't be my main focus anymore. Sorry, but at the same time thank you so much for changing my life.

It is always easy to sound ungrateful when you're in this position but in reality, it's just you being genuine to those that you care about so don't feel like you're being ungrateful to those who have followed you over the years. You just want to follow your passion and that's a good thing, it's something I've personally been working on for a long time to get to the next point of life. Letting go of something that has worked for a long time is always tough, but it's a lot better to let go early and look back at it proudly than to hold on to it and see it deteriorating until it's no longer worth doing. I totally understand where you're coming from!
When the pandemic hit, it was our moment to have an excuse to play videogames all day, and making content was the only real thing we could do to pass the time, but it's been 4 years, life went back to normal and eventually everyone stopped doing the crazy amount of content they were doing, but I feel like people kept expecting the content flow to continue, and it just became stressful
What a run, can't wait to see how many crazy hard levels you're going to beat next, and the commentary videos along with the completions are exactly what people in the Extreme Demon scene want, it's awesome hearing about someone's experience with a level to try and decide if you wanna go for it or not :)

For a person like me who's purchased both of Aeon's poster, seeing this video in the recommended gave me a heart attack.
I'm glad Aeon is deciding to make the decision to do what he wants to do. He's a content creator that I and I'm sure most people who read this would really enjoy watching and see his everyday uploads in the morning. As great as these videos are, he doesn't need to force himself into a burnout like so many past UA-camrs did for ignoring this exact issue of lack in passion, so I think this turned out for the better.

Started GD in the second half of 2020 and watched almost all your videos over the years. Literally all my memories of GD are associated with you in some way. It's going to be weird for a while not seeing regular uploads but it's understandable that it would happen at some point.

Huge respect for you to go and find your own way man. I've been there myself - and sometimes you can feel like you are letting people down by moving on from making videos fulltime for the community.

i think it's cool personally, i've never been into "rating icons" type of videos, and as a demonslayer myself, i'm excited about completion videos and thoughts afterwards. looking forward to see you completing very hard levels, very curious what your next hardest will be
I completely understand not wanting to make videos, i've tried making highlights videos, and i've made 2 (one got deleted), i hated the editing process, it feels like i could be doing something else but you have to just sit there and watch yourself for hours while you could be playing the game or doing something else. We love you Aeon and wish you luck on your new journey. ❤

He's still gonna make vids, too. Just not every single type of them. The only thing he's quitting is fully running and maintaining a yt channel as a full-time job, which would and has required plenty of "filler" videos he simply isn't passionate about.

Been here since like 2017 or whenever the hell it was, im sure this has to be draining eventually. I remember the previous breaks and how everything effected you at the time. I unfortunately don't have the time during the day to stop by streams, but I find myself going through your videos a lot, I'll still be watching your content on here when it comes and I'll still keep digging through the old stuff to relive the memories. The day when I almost screamed
I am in the same situation Aeon. Although my channel is very small (35 subs) GD was my starting point, and as much as I love the game since Ive been playing since 1.9, I have been making videos for other games. Call of Duty Zombies game mode, the most recent Paper Mario remake released for the switch for starters, and more games are to come. As of right now in GD, I'm still topping off Ultimate Demon Mix II, beating all of the 2.0 gauntlets, and completing and re-recording all of the map packs. Long story short whatever may come, just know you aren't alone.

There's a reason why my channel is just full of cliche GD level completion videos. If I were to go as far as making highlight videos, they'd be just, what, compilation of my fails? Even then, it'd probably be for select few levels only.
Nowadays though, even with my interest in GD greatly waning, I still play the game every now and then - beating some amazing levels like FFFFFF, Ulon, Lustre, etc. However, I don't feel like making videos of completions anymore because it's like what you said, that it's just not the passion anymore.
For however long I've been uploading GD videos, I'm grateful that I could showcase my achievements, but that's a thing in the past unfortunately. I wish everyone else - especially mobile players - a good luck.
Summarized how I feel as well. My interest with the game is at an all time high despite me rarely uploading videos, mainly because I can play the game for enjoyment’s sake instead of being fueled by the need to showcase achievements.
I’m really happy for Aeon with this decision, and I can anticipate more GD UA-camrs to follow suit. I have utmost respect for content creators because this current market is just too demanding .

this is so relateable, since the release of 2.2, ive learned all triggers in a time span of only one month, but every time i go like "yo how about we make a tutorial explaining each triggers today" i go like nah lets do it later, and this has led to me never actually doing it, because i was never motivated, because i didnt have the PATION to do it, but im glad that youre not LEAVING the community, you became a huge part of it already

I completely understand this. I’ve been playing GD ever since 1.8 because I was bored and I was hooked. But now I feel like there isn’t much to do that I would be happy to do. I can understand that being a UA-camr is a lot of doing what other people want. Sometimes those things are not what *you* want. I think that doing this is fine and reasonable. Do what *you* want and not what they want.
I can totally understand how you may be feeling aeon. I loved your GD content while it lasted and can’t wait to watch your streams, I’m so excited for the future.

Throughout the video you kept thanking us, being all personable like you always are ; and I want you to know that at least from my side of the computer screen I was thanking you. Getting to watch you develop as a content creator and player right around the time I came back to the game was really lucky timing on my part and your streams have always felt incredibly welcoming
Every time you would upload a video to UA-cam, I would always watch it from start to finish every time, and replay the same parts that would make me laugh or smile.
I remember even the very first time I watched one of your videos, and that was the video where you showed the GD twitch experience w/ Juniper, Technical and Xaro. That constantly made me laugh the entire time, and it's crazy to think I've been here for this long.
I understand your choice on your own channel, Aeon, and I hope I can be here a little longer to enjoy your videos, even if it's just two or three minutes long with your completion to an extreme demon.

Aeon ive been watching your videos since i started playing gd. Every time you upload i feel good now that your leaving idk man youe a big inpack on me. Im not so sad that i wont see your videos it just doesn't feel right i guess. Many youtubers have quit but this hit me the hardest (other than matpat lol)

I was watching his stream the other day where he said "there probably wont be a highlights video for *whatever level he was playing idk*" and now it makes alot more sense, I'm glad hes moving on to doing stuff hes more motivated by and enjoys more!

Aeon, You are amazing and I think I speak for everyone when I say we understand, as a very miniscule youtuber I can agree that it does get boring after so many videos, especially with geometry dash constantly putting out content can be very stressful. however you continue and wherever you go we will always be with you.
