@Wheretheresmuck I'm also inclined to think that if you give a full refund even if the item is returned, there should be no negative feedback allowed, as the buyer is in the position they were before the transaction. Also, if they don't like an item or have an issue with the item, and don't try to return it, i think negative feedback should not be allowed.
I always ask for advisor in the online chat until it offers a cal back. I try to call in the morning or early afternoon to get their Irish or American customer support. The online chat support staff in my experience seem to only do what their script says.
Ricky, I have to Thank you mate. You have been a big inspiration! I've been watching you for a while now and I thought I would give reselling a little tickle to see how we go. I'm picking up unusual items I find in charity shops and reselling on Vinted. So far some items I've picked up, I would usually just walk past and not bat an eyelid! Best to date was a Vintage Kenny and Kyle Southpark plush figures! They are 15" tall still with the tags on from 1998! Not sold yet but I'm sure they will shortly! Again mate, thanks and keep it up! 💪 Ade
Ebay chat service is poor too. Buyer messaged to say item was lost, I raised a claim to find out. No return/refund case was opened by the buyer. Tracking shows item delivered. Questioned this to the buyer who left a negative review. Replied offering a refind but item shows delivered. Ebay tells me they cant remove the feedback even though I followed the process through out. First negative in 500+ sales
I wonder if the automated system ever actually removes anything? Last negative I got for a shirt was "I don't like it, I look like Harry Hill" 🙄 I can't see how that's allowed as they got exactly what was pictured and described, and it's merely an opinion on how they look in the shirt. One before was a negative for jeans being 1" less wide on the waist than the tag size, when I mentioned it in the description.
Have you seen Tam resells recent couple of videos about a buyer who scammed him. Obvious scam. He didn’t give up and eventually eBay refunded him but it was a hard slog. They need to train their staff better. We can’t understand bad service because we pride ourselves on being decent honest humans. Sometimes it gets me down. Do you know what I’m doing today Ricky? I’m watching you while I’m wearing my hoodie and shorts and eating a very nice roast lamb dinner delivered by my friend’s son. It’s true that you help a lot of us out with your videos. BTW I’m old, a pensioner reseller and I love wearing shorts. Also I have fought to have negative feedback taken down and always won. We have to keep pushing but I find that if I get a good eBay employee then they will see sense. Have a good week. Peace 💕
I got a neutral my only 1 and I'm not bothered by it. A Hornby train was damaged in transit, and a pin broke off of it. No big deal, has not affected my sales :)
Ive just learnt to live with the feedback. Had a few negative and neutral and trying to fight it is a waste of time. I do, however think its S**t that you cant leave feedback for buyers. Ive had multiple occasions ive had bad feedback because the buyer hasnt read the description properly and Ebay just arent bothered. I wonder how much feedback scores actually have on sales and if buyers pay that much attention to it. Keep up the good work.
usually if item has words "spare parts" in title and description it means the device doesnt fully work and might have working parts inside to fix same device, like if i see spare parts listing for say 3ds console im aware it wont work fully and people just want certain parts off it to fix other 3ds console etc.
Same as you bud sold a heater double boxed it something came loose internally in transit (Shit Happens) customer didn't want to return kicked up a right stink but as you know if you don't your open to scammers so asked to be returned. Out of spite they left negative feedback despite great packaging and new item did everything correct to the letter but ebay wouldn't remove as said it was their customer experience. I argued took it to managers wouldn't remove despite it obviously being unfair and a kind of revenge feedback really pissed me off and left me feeling vulnerable as a seller. Ebay need to change their attitude as now I'm diversifying even more than before plus with their fees they are quickly becoming an expensive unreasonable dinosaur Great Channel Chas
Ricky...to give yourself a better chance, always report the buyer first! You'll at least get a 10-15% better chance of feedback removal/better outcome and also help the eBay community🙂
I sold someone a solid gold bracelet for £500. They said it was broken and opened a return. They sent back an empty box. I opened a case. EBay refunded them as they had ‘returned the item’ sellers have 0 protection with eBay.
@ I raised the issue with eBay and they sided with the buyer as the item was returned so they released their payment and automatically take it out of your bank account.
I was left a negative after buyer didn't pay after 3 days. I messaged buyer day 2, no reply. Cancelled sale 3rd day, relisted. Buyer contacted me literally within 30min of relist. Contacted ebay by phone, they referred me to do it online, negative not removed. I am swapping to vinted, love how the buyer sorts postage and very easy to list. Enjoying watching the war between ebay/vinted....... Ebay got too comfortable being leader for so long, bring on the disruptors!
Always wait for the option on the cancel form where it says buyer didn’t pay,it appears after four or five days you have to give the buyer reasonable time to pay before it appears, then your covered if they get nasty and Chuck a neg in you can get it removed,I’ve done this several times.
Sometimes you need days where you just do nothing. It's called a rest day, something we don't do very often! Good to see you back. It does make me feel guilty too though because I know I could be doing work and then if it's listed it may sell, but I have to remind myself I can't work 24/7 and sustain it.
Vinted is the same so strange a buyer made an offer which i ignored...then made the same offer and cancelled it. Then bought the item for the full amount then CANCELLED the order themselves....I got automated negative feedback. I never cancelled the order the buyer did....
Listening to you right now I've just realised that we are already controlled by the algorithms. Because working so hard to give the best service on eBay still affects the mood negatively if the tiniest thing goes wrong. Adding to the difficulty going through eBay to rectify the simplest of any issues. I have to consciously take myself away from the ebay drama in order to get perspective. As human beings we will have to work harder not to be unconsciously controlled by big business superpowers A I's. Perspective is everything!😉 Organise a fail safe reminder in your life , that's the key
Everyone needs time out - I'm having one of those days today 😒 Re the Ebay feedback system - it's pretty pathetic, highlighting the fact that it's purely customer focused, which is ironic as without sellers.....
Your attitude towards eBay is the same as I feel about depop. Depop was my biggest platform. Selling cameras I can’t use Vinted but I’m definitely spreading things out, selling cheaper and not really digging in and invested like I was. I literally list 20 items on a Sunday and that’s it, nothing in the week and 3 postings days. The system is broken as there’s too many offers and stuff, also feedback I try to fight it but I’m certainly not bothered either- I know I’m a good honest seller and often people only leave bad feedback
Mate I’ve had the same I’ve got a negative because apparantly the package arrived dirty and broken ?! No message off the customer no contact whatsoever and requested the buyer to review it, nothing , then to eBay I went and they promptly said they hadn’t breached the community guidelines !!
My mum left eBay as it is all for the buyer and got so frustrated as they don’t seem to care. Plus their call centres are abroad and are employed robots!! And she lost it in the end.
i like vinted, so easy to list and my evri depot dont care about weight in general 👌 yes you can get low ball offers, but thats just part of the haggle👍
I rarely bother to challenge feedback I just reply to their comment and call them out if they haven't contacted me to try and resolve and issue. Shows customers that they can resolve an issue if they bother to contact you
I've been on ebay since 2013. Got my first negative feedback in July this year as the buyer didn't look at the photos or read the description that showed marks on a magazine cover. Then in August another buyer left negative feedback because the movie on the new DVD he had bought, was not as good as the original movie. Both times the requests to ebay to remove were denied. I'm a private seller so don't have a way to speak to a person in ebay. I got another negative feedback yesterday. I've pulled 100 listings and have reduced the price of almost everything to get rid of everything this year. I've had enough of ebay.
Lil tip for you, go to help page type “hacked” this will put you through to the automated chat,,, type “hacked” again and you are instantly given the option of a call back,, your welcome 🙏 😃
I think I’d have left a neutral. Someone clicks on it they know it’s wrong. I’ve had a few like that in the past. Sometimes it’s because they left neutral for someone else before you. I’ve had a negative with great item etc. one of your UA-cam ads was for eBay just after you were talking about eBay 😂
My sales on eBay have strangely been better than vinted. I've sold two Xbox 360 consoles, one fully boxed with games for £60 and the other console with cables plus controller and few games for £40, I've also had a couple more games, a boxset and a Steven seagal film go...all of that today. I would recommend putting a few games with consoles even if it's just call of duty, fifa, halo etc
I seem to be getting more neutrals than ever just recently. I messaged one buyer to see if I could resolve whatever the reason for the 'as described' neutral was, and they didn't reply. I went through Ebays automatic system...and it was rejected. It seems the automatic system only removes feedback with abusive/rude language. Doing my nut in! 😵💫
A few weeks back, I had someone leave negative feedback because they didn’t like the music on the CD they brought! 😅 eBay bot didn’t see an issue, but it was resolved when I spoke to a human!
in the early days I got the opposite to you, the feedback was "wasn't what was expected" although it was what was listed (I even stated "This is NOT XXXX, it is xxxx.... ) to stop any confusion. Although they left a negative comment they did tick "Positive" :) Not sure there was such a thing as a request to fix feedback at the time...
Over 20 years on Ebay now and came into the year with one negative. Now standing at 2 negative and 6 neutral... Ebay gave me the usual garbage about my seller rating not being affected etc. Sales are dead, so looks like I could be focusing more on Vinted now also!
I watched this podcast with this guy on who use to work at eBay and they do stop your traffic and sales when you get bad feedback and returns as they worry you could be a bad seller
@Lisa-cj8cu like Ricky is proving, Ebay is a sinking ship 😆 would be good to see some weekly stats on Ebay vs Vinted sales from an established resellers perspective.
I currently have two neutral feedback on my eBay profile, clearly left by mistake from buyers leaving positive comments. Have I done anything about it? No. I just don't have the time to chase something so trivial and almost don't blame eBay for not bothering either. Unfairly/wrongly attributed negative feedback I have taken issue with as you need to protect that 100% if you can. I was actually surprised how quickly it was resolved in my favour on each occasion.
The feedback system on Ebay is shite! Especially for sellers. I appealed two negative feedbacks that were completely unjust, I even managed to speak to a human at Ebay. On both occasions, they agreed that the feedback was wrong and that they would take it down. This was about a year ago. Guess what?? It's still bloody there. It also pisses me off that a buyer can leave negative feedback immediately, but as a seller, I think we have to wait 14 days before negative feedback can be left for a customer. I've normally forgotten by then!. I, like yourself Ricky, don't really care about feedback anymore, I've been selling on Ebay since 2007. This year has been awful for sales. I decided to also start selling on Vinted earlier this year. My sales on there have been amazing. Just think Ebay has had its day.
Feedback system is wank, always in the buyers favour no matter what. I went 14 years clean and then 3 negs that wasn’t my fault and eBay did nothing for me Recently got a neutral and annoyed the help out of me, take a lot of pride in my account and clueless buyers blindly mess it up not caring If eBay had a star system it would be better, if someone accidentally leaves a lower star rating on Vinted it just gets diluted in and doesn’t change my overall 5 star rating so I don’t sweat it But honestly feel the same, over this last year I’ve cared less and less about eBay as a whole, they are take too much and you get little in return. Vinted is king
The touch something or when you think about something that needs to sell and then it sells happens ALOT for me. I was putting it down to being some kind of pagan witch or maybe its manifestations, who knows! But it’s a beautiful thing
Buy a lot on ebay. I avoid sellers with low feedback or significantly bad feedback. Don't blink at high volume sellers who've had a couple negs or neutrals in last 12 months. Some people just like to complain. But no, EBAY does not really care Ricky.
I think the key is how the seller responds to the negative feedback. You get the opportunity to have a permanent non editable public reply, so always use it to make you look like the good guy.
Personally if you dont get negative feedback then we should get POSITIVE feedback on ALL our items automatically, if shown it has been delivered. Oh and bring back the ability to leave negative feedback for buyers and if they get 10% negative feedback a year boot THEM off the platform for ETERNITY!!!!
Rick your ethos re the whole ebay shbang is 💋Mwaah! Don't change .... As for down n out days....They gotta be done, this game wears you out at times, so when downtime is calling you go for it big time.... 👍
EBay feedback is wank. They need to introduce automatic feedback for completed sales like vinted. Also had someone win 2 of my auctions this week for £55 each and they didn’t pay and ignored messages, yet we can’t leave them negative feedback! Bullshit.
They follow a script and don't care. They tell you to go to the person who left the crappy feedback, which is ridiculous. Ebay is going downhill. The removal of fees means the market is flooded with samey items. The scarcity element has gone. Loads of sellers sending unanswered offers, loads of watchers, reductions. The death knoll will be the buyers premium. I am selling my overspill from joblots off and will not sell on ebay again.
Ebay customer service is a complete joke, ive had negative feedback for something that clearly written into the description and eBay's done absolutely nothing about, it I don't even waste my time with them anymore I just leave negative feedback, still get sells with or without them so makes no differance to me
Feedback is a pain in the arse. I got a negative because the parcel came day after posting on a 2nd class and they missed the post...took me 3 days to get it removed. Buyers use this to barter with as ghey know they got you. Stupid system and hate ebay algorithm cassini. Can get no sales all day then 3 at once. It seems they switch u on. Also so many times i get 2 sdles and tgey in the same area i have never sold that area before. All controlled by these guys.
I don't even bother with a neutral feedback as it doesn't effect the score, I would just leave a reply and move on with selling other stuff, Ebay is so biased to buyers and does not give a crap about the sellers (amazon syndrome)
The logic behind 3 feedback revision requests is idiotic, if you can handle these things without ebay interaction then it saves both sides from the stress and time it takes to resolve these problems
Not that I wish bad on you Ricky but I’m glad it’s not just me that thinks eBay is a complete pile of shite when it comes to having problems with your account I had a similar problem to you last month and had to use one of my revisions to get it rectified.
@ yeah unlimited would be great. Whenever I can be bothered I fill in one of them eBay feedback questionnaire and mention about changing the revisions to unlimited hopefully they may change in the future 🤞luckily I get 5 per year I don’t know if that’s with me having a premium store.
the feedback is poor and getting worst. just as annoying when don't get any feedback. I sold an sealed item. received all fine, i received no communication and learned i got my 1st negative, saying had dust on the item on the inside. how amazes me when sealed unopened but the fact is the comment is there for 1 year on my account as negative because it's not against the there policy.
Ebay feedback is absolutely trash, cant glitter a turd and pretend its no longer a turd...doesnt matter what Ebay do with their updates, never cared, never will unless theres money in it for them
I had negative feedback from some donut who moaned that there bank didn't refund them the entire amount because they took a small fee,I spoke to an actual person who agreed it was out of my control but all they did was remove the comment but left the negative review stating that they are within their right to leave it ?? Um wtf was the point of leaving a review that's negative with no context absolute bell ends, and negative reviews do affect your account i can't begin to tell you how pissed i was. But I'd prefer eBay to vinted with zero customer support they are trash.
Yo ricky, i have had an absolute nightmare in a similar situation, so much so, that its making want to make a youtube channel to expose this bollox. Should i?
I think eBay is still superior think about it shows sold items in a way it can tell a median so if you go charity job carboot etc you know what will sell and for what price when etc however Vinted is very hard to know the price of something as it’s hard to base it on which could be good for the people who resale from Vinted but other then that it’s not great but if Vinted had the sold system it would completely kill eBay
I skip past the chat and request a phone call right away. Saves so much time.
Personally, I don't think neutral or negative feedback should be allowed before contacting the seller to try and resolve an issue 🤔
It seems they only ever do anything if you phone them up
I always ask for advisor in the online chat until it offers a cal back.

Ebay chat service is poor too. Buyer messaged to say item was lost, I raised a claim to find out. No return/refund case was opened by the buyer. Tracking shows item delivered. Keep an eye on that Stanley heater, I've had 2 that spontaneously combusted.
I got a neutral my only 1 and I'm not bothered by it. A Hornby train was damaged in transit, and a pin broke off of it. No big deal, has not affected my sales :)

But they are doing a great job

You can speak to an advisor as a private seller, just into chat bot and keep putting in speak to an advisor
@@rosieraver1 Thank you. The first 2 negatives are too old. The negative from yesterday was my first valid negative!

@judithpride1690 best get in touch with the director of the film to re shoot it for your buyer 🤣
Love your videos as always keep plugging away mate
Ebay, don't give a toss about anything but money. I stopped using Ebay over 5yrs ago. I use discogs for my vinyl and vinted for other bits.
Yeah, don’t blame you mate especially if you predominantly sell records
yet here you are checking in on ebay lol
@SteveJones-gz4vd How do you work that out? I follow Ricky cos he's funny, unlike yourself .
Cheers Ricky Mate 😊 Well done on feedback change 👍
My sales on eBay have strangely been better than vinted. 🫶🏻🥇🙌🏼 cheers mate
I just ring and speak to a human and make sure I’m firm and fair
Had a few removed recently that way
I seem to be getting more neutrals than ever just recently. I messaged one buyer to see if I could resolve whatever the reason for the 'as described' neutral was, and they didn't reply. I went through Ebays automatic system...and it was rejected. It seems the automatic system only removes feedback with abusive/rude language. Doing my nut in! 😵💫
It’s honestly ridiculous
A few weeks back, I had someone leave negative feedback because they didn’t like the music on the CD they brought! 😅 eBay bot didn’t see an issue, but it was resolved when I spoke to a human!
That is absolutely insane 😅
I'm easing off a bit now bro, ebay is failing. Struggling to get sales a d I'm doing everything possible 🤯
Had exactly the same, they just said they hadn't gone against any policies.
Policy schmolicy
Had exactly the same off eBay my envelope arrived dirty apparantly 😤
Feedback system outdated and the robots always refuse removal

If eBay had a star system it would be better, if someone accidentally leaves a lower star rating on Vinted it just gets diluted in and doesn’t change my overall 5 star rating so I don’t sweat it
But honestly feel the same, over this last year I’ve cared less and less about eBay as a whole, they are take too much and you get little in return.
Vinted is king
Hi, if you put 'request callback" on the chat , someone will call you back normally within 5 mins,.
It feels like every ai service is run off the post office dodgy computer system.
I feel you
Ebay customer service is a complete joke, ive had negative feedback for something that clearly written into the description and eBay's done absolutely nothing about, it I don't even waste my time with them anymore I just leave negative feedback, still get sells with or without them so makes no differance to me
Feedback is a pain in the arse.
Yeh that’s happend to me, I say to myself hmm that hasn’t sold in ages and a day later it sells haha
I think the eBay feedback service is awful
Mate you are looking well 👊
Much appreciated even though I have just hammered my second pizza of the weekend
@ always need a cheat day mate just a shame mines everyday 😂
I don't even bother with a neutral feedback as it doesn't effect the score, I would just leave a reply and move on with selling other stuff,
Ebay is so biased to buyers and does not give a crap about the sellers (amazon syndrome)
What is up with capping revisions anyway? Just do unlimited revisions.
@ yeah unlimited would be great. Whenever I can be bothered I fill in one of them eBay feedback questionnaire and mention about changing the revisions to unlimited hopefully they may change in the future 🤞luckily I get 5 per year I don’t know if that’s with me having a premium store.
@@RickyResells I spoke to soon Ricky 😂 today eBay retracted a neutral feedback!!!!
the feedback is poor and getting worst. just as annoying when don't get any feedback.
Yeah, that is absolutely ridiculous
Ricky, wanna sell that jacket ? If not, what's the make pls pal.
No, I’m gonna keep it mate. It’s a vintage bootleg polo.
Yo ricky, i have had an absolute nightmare in a similar situation, so much so, that its making want to make a youtube channel to expose this bollox. Should i?
Go for it

Hi Ricky can you let me have ur Vinted name so I can have a look at the items for sale, cheers, keep up the good work 👏
Thanks mate. Yeah, it’s 2002rl
IIIIIII DDDROOOPPPPEDDDD THEEEEEEE SCCCRREEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW IN THE TUNA!
Welcome back pal, you have been quiet
It’s only been two days 🤷🏻♂️😅
@RickyResells I know, I have had withdrawals 😫
