Merry Christmas Emma to you and your family. Your daughter will keep everyone young with her games and plans for Christmas. Thank you for sharing your journey this year. I think we all need to remember that our journeys are not all the same, sometimes only the tiniest but is similar but that does not make them wrong. Merry Christmas to everyone else who is here to support you. We will be celebrating with a hot Aussie Christmas of 40 + degrees.

@gettingtidy2495 bump is doing good thank you, still struggling with the sickness but on good days I'm managing it and have managed to do some things. We have been to our church's carols by candle light service this evening which is always my favourite and gets me in the mood to feel all Christmassy. Had quite a busy day today because we had our normal church service this morning too. Hoping I can get a few jobs done tomorrow as my husbands working so I'm home with the children but have my parents visiting tomorrow evening 😳 hoping to get the pets cleaned out and ready for Christmas and also have some jobs in the house done tomorrow so just hoping the sickness allows me to 🙏❤️💕 I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!

We are seeing in-laws tomorrow. Hoping Christmas eve will be a day at home 😍

Hi Emma, just watching you cleaning in the play room - how about adding a pantry type cupboard in there with shelves and doors to keep current things your daughter plays with but also can double as longer term storage for the things she wants to keep. They are relatively narrow so don’t take a lot of space but have lots of closed away storage. Wishing you and yours a safe and happy festive season 🎅🏼🎄. Cheers Mel from Tasmania x

@@gettingtidy2495- a lot of people advocating decluttering would disagree with me but I feel you want to keep a lot of sentimental things so I think it’s an issue of storage. Your house seems to have a couple of extra rooms not needed as bedrooms and I feel they would be useful as additional storage. My other random thought was what about moving your office to the guest room? And adding a small wardrobe set up in the tiny office off your loft room? 😊

    Hi Emma,
I totally agree with putting all of the cards received in one spot.
I have done this and have put them in an
Archival box that is rather pretty. I use the container method with the box. If I get a fabulous card for Christmas and the box is full, I must remove a card that is less important.
This ensures that I have all the cards that are most meaningful to me and that I don't have hundreds.

    • @gettingtidy2495

Hello Emma ☺️ so lovely of you to donate and double your UA-cam profits you are a bright light in this world.
So sorry about your daughter's purse and pram 😢. We were scammed once and it felt like a complete violation of personal space even though nobody had physically been around us. Weird feeling. So sorry x
I also can't do shops on weekends. We do Thursday evenings for the week ahead.
Yes, keep gathering categories together so you can see how much of a certain item you have and from there can make better declutter decisions and storage solutions . 👏
Keep peeling your layers Emma you are only getting better and better and tidier and tidier, finding your own system and having your own realizations of the things in your home. It is a lifestyle 🌼 it is a journey. It is not a race ! And there is no destination. I love the way you have approached your goal to get tidier 😉 what an adventure it's turning out to be!
So glad to be back in the old main bedroom/ current guest room/playroom and hallway. And getting mini me involved in the decision making 👌 when you say you sit in the play room and look around and think where do you even start ? I smile as an observer just thinking of how fr you've really come from where you started xxx
The hardest part of decluttering is getting the stuff out. So keep it up, every bag, every charity run, every online sale is making a difference.
I really wonder if your clothes would be better stored in the guest bedroom eventually, since you use the bathroom on the 2nd level.
This would give more space for hubbies clothes in main bedroom and he uses 3rd level bathroom. Just a thought.
When you take the dry washing down, you could put hubbies in one basket and yours and your daughter's in another basket and hubby can run your one onto the 2nd level and his one onto the 3rd level, where he can unpack his and you can unpack yours and your daughters.
A personal diary is great. The simpler the better.if you got an A4 1 day 1 page diary, you could divide the page in half and jot down work in the top half and daughters/home/hubby schedule in the bottom half.
I love checking my diary off at the end of the day and transferring the missed to do's along in the diary.
I even put my shopping list down and take a photo of it to refer to in the shop. Just easier to have it all in one place in a diary. Very useful.
Love all the arts and crafts and love in your family Emma, very blessed xxx

A creche is another word for nativity or manger. I believe my grandmother referred to it as a creche also. As for the carpet tool. It is designed for pet hair removal but is also called a carpet scraper, which I had never heard of before. I bought one about 8 months ago and it works great on removing cat hair and lint bits etc. I also bought a larger one with a long handle, but I had trouble trying to use it because the handle was uncomfortable for me. My husband used it last weekend under the bed and he thought it worked really well, so maybe it's the operator. Often times we would receive "free" cards with donation requests for different places. Usually, Christmas cards but some all-occasion cards, as well. I would put them in this box and every now and then I would dig one out for someone and put some money for a gift and send it off in the mail. Well, it got to be so many cards, and I did a sort and bagged them up and put with our charity donations. Years ago, I could have taken to the nursing home or the assisted living facility but now everyone seems to have access to what they need and then, the cost of postage has really reduced the number of Christmas cards being exchanged. They also used to use the fronts of the cards for gift tags or to remake into new cards, if the cards were previously used. I think there was also a charity that used to take just the front covers of used Christmas cards for them to be remade into new cards, but I don't know if they still do that. Regardless, our family is shrinking, so not much need for many cards really. I only mailed 3 this year. I like to believe that those days, while comforting a very sick cat, that Rylee and I watching your play lists over and over again, helped your charity donation. I spent a lot of hours just watching and comforting/petting her, while she tried to recover. It helped me cope too.

Hi! Wonderful video and job! My only suggestion, and I even wrote it on Remi’s video too, is if you use a carpet cleaner and you use a cleaning agent, do a second pass with just clean water to remove residual detergent as the detergent can make the carpet a tad sticky for dirt to attach to and vacuums have a hard time removing. Merry Christmas!!

    Yay for the donation! 🎉
I believe that all that you were sorting through in your lounge were Christmas cards. Earlier in the video you said you sorted them and put some in the donations. So they might have just been cards of all kinds. I have a large clear plastic bag that holds all of the cards I've received that I wanted to keep. We also have a small plastic container with three drawers that holds cards that we have on hand to send.
Sometime can you show us a video of your charity shop where you donate things? I'm wondering if you've ever gone in and seen any of your items for sale.
It sounds like your daughter has an issue with keeping hold of her bag and you are being overly responsible for it. I do understand why as it has her medication in it.
The spot I am now watching you vacuum at the top of your stairs looks as if it could use a carpet cleaner. You could look into borrowing one from a friend or renting one.
Can I please put in a request for whichever Sylvanian families that your daughter decides not to keep? Find a play therapist who is just starting out and donate them to him or her. If you are interested, I can show you where to find some. The time you were sorting or playing with your daughter was my favorite part of this video!
The orb with the candles inside of the cathedral was gorgeous! Beautiful playing girls! I hope you are making longer videos to keep for your daughter. What little I know of you, I am sure you are. 🎉
I know you follow feral tread wife. Not sure if you heard her mention Jamie Chaotic. This month she has put scraps of paper in a fish bowl with small projects that she needs to get done. Each day she will pull one out and complete it. This might be good for you for your busy seasons. I had thought of you before, but came to mention it now because she was sorting out paper. 😢
