I'm thinking about India, because I'm a vegetarian and India is literally the only country in the world where veggies are as well catered for as meat eaters. I would struggle with the drinking water though as I get dehydrated very easily.

You had a guide who does not know much about importance of Mysore (but not his fault because he is just an indian but not belonging to hindu community).
The statue was MAHISHASURA (A demon) who was killed by CHAMUNDESWARI (the GODDESS inside the temple). That is why she is also known as MAHISHASURA MARDHINI (the slayer of Mahishasura). You can google or check wikepedia to know more about that.

It is a coastal town famous for temples, seafood, local cuisines and obviously beaches. Some must try mentions when it comes to food - chicken ghee roast, neer dosa, kori rotti, buns, golibaje and fish fry.

Rs. 50/- price for the jasmine flowers mini garland size is Okay, not too high! Maybe the correct price would be around Rs. 40/-.However, Rs. 10/- quoted by an alternative vendor must be for a much smaller size garland.

19:56 Funny how you said it is unnecessary, we see it as art. You will see many old homes build that way in Mysore which may look over the top for someone outside. I'm from Mysore, the things Kings of Mysore did for Mysore and its people is 1000 times more than all politicians and social workers combined after independence. Don't judge a book by its covers.
