I was fortunate enough to be selected as one of the first male tour guides at WDW back in the 70's. Back then all cast members in guest relations were tour guides. We gave the regular guided tours with the larger groups, VIP tours with smaller corporate sponsored groups, and staffed all the guest relations offices. We only had the Magic Kingdom then. When not giving tours, or when tours were not running due to large crowds, we were sent to help out everywhere in the park. That might mean working at a food location during the lunch rush, or anything that needed to be done. My favorite was what was called area hosting, we would simply walk around answering questions, giving directions, taking pictures, anything to make the guests day more enjoyable. Our VIP tours were 4 hours or 6 hours which included lunch. We did not go to the front of any lines, having to wait like everyone else. Some of the happiest days of my 11 year career at WDW.
Philip is one of the most amazing cast members my family has ever met! On two different occasions he helped us at Guest Relations to turn something that was frustrating or a real bummer into a great experience (you know those magic, Disney moments?) He is a pro and we always hope we run into him when we visit the park. Such a nice guy! We love you Phillip!
This video was great! Several years back my mom got me a tour at Disneyland called “A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps.” There were supposed to be eight people on the tour, but none of the other group showed up. The two of us got a personal evening tour of Disneyland with dinner! My favorite part was seeing the lobby of Club 33 and taking photos in the lift. Seeing the tour guide brought back a wonderful memory!
I found you last week...and I never thought I would watch something I know so much about...but you're a breath of fresh air and kindness. Please keep spreading your energy.
Great video as always! I noticed when you explained the “Land of dreams tour,” you mentioned one of the perks was visiting the Cinderella dream suite. However, that is only located in the Magic Kingdom in WDW, the castle in Disneyland is the Sleeping Beauty castle.
Thank you so much for stopping and taking a picture with me while you were on your tour. I was the one who stopped you before going into DCA. It was a pleasure meeting you and Amanda! You are just as amazing in person as you are in your videos. Love from AZ, Julie and Michael
Fun fact: The building of the Jungle Cruise was designed to tell part of the story. It was a shipping company, but when the Great Depression hit, they didn't have any cargo to move. So they changed gears and offered cruises instead. The main part of the que building looks different from the ends of it. The company had to quickly add onto the building to make room for the lines, so they just threw together whatever they could! If you look at the whole building, you'll see the "add ons." The wood is colored a little differently, and it is a little messy looking. I'd love to see a video on the hidden stories and meaning in Disneyland architecture!
Thank you Chris for this video and thank you Rob for taking him.... We have an autistic teenager who doesn't do waiting in lines well so this will be a great option for us.....
Look into getting a disability pass for your teenager with autism. My brother in law was able to get one for my nephew. It changed their trip from being almost unbearable to being amazing. They were able ti skip every line. 👌🏼👍🏼
12:50 They used to do that for anybody. If you bought something you could leave it with the store and pick it up out front when you leave. Do they not do that anymore?
Rob, what might be interesting is to find past Disneyland Tour Guides and have them gathered at a roundtable to share interesting stories recounting their experiences through the decades. Just saying.
I think I saw prince Harry following a plaid vest into rise of the resistance in WDW September 20th. We were doing rider switch and went right in but there was a brief wait and when we got on the ride was totally empty. Thanks for the special tour Rob!
ahh my family and i just missed you by 5 days! Darn!!! Would have been cool to meet you guys but great content as always. I had binged your vids before our week long visit :D
That was a pretty awesome experience, and it looks like you all had the time of your lives. I can certainly understand why people will pay for a VIP experience. I have a silly question maybe you can answer. Let's say we have a limited number of guest. Do you know if it is possible to ask people that might want to join us for a few hours on the fly? I think that would be an amazing opportunity for all involved! No sense in keeping it just for a party of 4 or 5. Your thoughts? Thanks for the good times. I love your stuff Chris!
Hello!!! How very nice to be invited to a VIP tour!! And how even nicer to be brought along, so a huge thanks!!! Los Pollos Hermanos t-shirt (from Albuquerque and still live here!) nice to see! Great vlog and thanks for sharing!!
Your fun personality is so contagious and absolutely adorable that I am going to hit subscribe and like...your whole party was tons of fun! Thanks for taking me along...THANKS, ROB!!! 👍
My family and I were at the park for our first day for the trip and actually got to talk with the Provosts after they got off of buzz. They were sooo much fun!!!! Nice meeting you Chris and Amanda!!!!
First - Thank you, Rob. Second - We are kicking ourselves, because we were at Disneyland and my husband thought he saw you, but didn't say anything. Now that we're watching the video he's certain it was you because he recognized Amanda's Mickey Mouse pants. Lol. We can't believe we were so close to you and we didn't get to say hi!! 😭
One of the best disney trips ever!!
This was DEFINITELY one of my all-time favorite days at Disneyland! Thanks again for taking us along!
Thank you Rob! That was a super day.
So much FUN!!!!
Thank you Rob for doing this for Chris and Amanda and the PPP Crew!
You're the man rob! thanks for an epic day!!!

The Storybook Land ride "fake laugh" got me every time 🤣🤣🤣
I always feel like Chris should say, "wakka wakka wakka" after each of his puns. Great video!
My FAVORITE thing and BEST memory on the Matterhorn is "Remain seated, please...
Permanecer sentados, por favor.”
VIP Tour! Thankyou..Will you do a Video about Genie+ and the Lightning Lines…Is it worth the extra cost?
Omgosh this was so much fun and watching you all bought us such joy. Phillip is a real pro and such a great tour guide!
I agree with Chris--Empire is #1! Well technically it's #5, but definitely my favorite as well.
Thank you Chris for this video and thank you Rob for taking him.... We have an autistic teenager who doesn't do waiting in lines well so this will be a great option for us.....

This most be awesome!! Riding rides with the group and giving them the tour they want, must be amazing
12:50 They used to do that for anybody. If you bought something you could leave it with the store and pick it up out front when you leave. Do they not do that anymore?
$400/hr/person or $400/hr/tour?
Fun video.
Thank you Rob, you're awesome!
It was per hour. Up to 10 people. Ranges from $400 to $700 per hr based on the season.
Thank you Rob for this amazing experience now I know how it feels like to be a vip person
LOL - the Buzz Lightyear segment was really funny. (all was good, but especially liked that part)
Thank you Rob! that tour looked fun!
Thx Rob! You are very kind!
Chris you really need a book of your disney puns. It would be great to have when we are waiting in line.
Rob, what might be interesting is to find past Disneyland Tour Guides and have them gathered at a roundtable to share interesting stories recounting their experiences through the decades. Just saying.
I would definitely watch that. Great suggestion
Thank you Rob. This makes me want to save my money to treat my ‘ohana to this. Best video ever!
Looks like so much fun. I try to keep an eye out for the plaid tours, usually they’re with a celebrity group, like PPP haha. Thanks Rob
Hey Chris! Do any of the tours allow you to see/enter Walt's private apartment above the fire station? I'd love to see that!
Not right now.
Land of dreams does but not the premium

Tempting to be there for 11-13. It is exactly 1,800 miles (literally from my front door to Disney entrance). Wish we could be there.

ahh my family and i just missed you by 5 days! Darn!!! Would have been cool to meet you guys but great content as always. I had binged your vids before our week long visit :D
Always wanted to do a VIP tour! Thank you for sharing your experience!
I like how the VIP guide waits in line for popcorn instead of cutting everyone lol
What's the (approximate) price range for the two different types of tour? Are there minimum ages?
Thank you, Rob, and thank you for your service!
The Tigger and Pooh joke was Throne worthy😉🤣
That was a pretty awesome experience, and it looks like you all had the time of your lives. I can certainly understand why people will pay for a VIP experience.
