I came here tonight feeling like a refugee from the overwhelming issues scouring the land in this year, 2020. Ironically, a number representing good vision. I came here for a break from all the mind-numbing critique, the howling and the yelling and the demanding and the denouncing. I came here because I've been a big fan of Eric Schlosser for many years, and his speaking style is a thing I find soothing.
Ironically, again - social justice as it parades around the nation, often as I find it, concerned with microscopic issues and ancient grievances, pales by comparison with the ruthless and barbaric treatment of the people whose labor brings us a thing we cannot do without - our food.
I came here to discover that I am only the 4th commentator in over 5 years, on an issue that is at the very heart and center of injustice in the land, but still the people who are abused in our food industries remain just as invisible and forgotten as always.
Which should shame us, as a nation, but we find it so easy to be oblivious. Consumed and distracted by other things deemed to be far more important.
This was an incredible moving thing to watch and listen to.
And Eric - I'm still waiting for that prison book! Patience is a virtue, I know. But a dedicated reader can only stand so much...

I've been brought to tears over your stories. I will continue to to listen to this format and I would really like to hear more about what solutions are being talked about and implemented!

Everyone wants a better Education for their children and are prepared to move mountains to do so.
However the speed at which so many jobs are disappearing and changing and the 'left over ones' that are low paying and de-skilled doesn't give a lot of opportunity for optimism
