I have two things to say: 1. I’m pretty sure mobs have a time limit for how fast they can take individual “hits.” 2. Use command block to give yourself piece of Redstone with Sharpness 10000. Then hit the dragon with it. Bonus: Alternatively, give the Redstone Knockback 10000 to send the dragon into unloaded chunks. It would never come back as long as you don’t get near it 👍 That’s a win for me

Make a charged creeper farm near the end portal, set it up to feed into a machine that dispenses them into the portal one by one, put a delay on the lever that activates the machine, hit the lever and go through the portal, use pistons and slime blocks to make a launcher aimed at the middle, stand by the launcher and activate it every time a creeper’s fuse passes the point of no return You could use a tripwire and repeaters to automate the launcher, making it an AFK redstone ender dragon ender that eliminates the high risk of human error on the part of the gunner, but if you have mobgriefing on then this gives the dragon a bigger window in which to spike your gun

also, i think its cause the initial explosions launch him up in the air and the secondary explosions dont touch him at all

Sure... I mean it's true but it's just put down a command block and type like 100 letters (I know it's not but I honestly don't care) and put down a lever and flip it and it might not even work in New versions... 😐 But still a good idea.

I have two things to say:
1. I’m pretty sure mobs have a time limit for how fast they can take individual “hits.”
2. Use command block to give yourself piece of Redstone with Sharpness 10000. Then hit the dragon with it.
Bonus: Alternatively, give the Redstone Knockback 10000 to send the dragon into unloaded chunks. It would never come back as long as you don’t get near it 👍 That’s a win for me

The charged creepers are the key. Make a charged creeper farm near the end portal, set it up to feed into a machine that dispenses them into the portal one by one, put a delay on the lever that activates the machine, hit the lever and go through the portal, use pistons and slime blocks to make a launcher aimed at the middle, stand by the launcher and activate it every time a creeper’s fuse passes the point of no return
You could use a tripwire and repeaters to automate the launcher, making it an AFK redstone ender dragon ender that eliminates the high risk of human error on the part of the gunner, but if you have mobgriefing on then this gives the dragon a bigger window in which to spike your gun

He could use the clone command to copy/paste his machinery within Minecraft.
So the issue you're having with the arrows is that the special tipped arrows don't effect the dragon, but if you use plain arrows you'll do damage
Only when its flying you cant when its in mid
It cant be hit with arrows in mid only sword
You can't use arrows when the dragon is on th bedrock thing
no arrows never do damage when its on the center

The entity type is *minecraft:ender_dragon* but that individual Ender Dragon flying around the main End island has the name Jean, although it is still an Ender Dragon.
It is a bit like
every human is a human but one guy has the name Christian, some woman may have the name Jolie and so on.

The video and gus’ original comment specifically state “redstone”. The charged creepers are not redstone based, and therefore bear no relevance on the topic. If he spawned a sword and stabbed the dragon to death it would be the same. Not redstone, not relevant.
