Nice to see you so happy with the run! Just finished in Berlin Half with a sub 1:30 for the first time and you were always a motivation to get it done in training. :)
Awesome blog Ben, the smile on your face says it all. Sorry about shouting over you at 17km however always gonna cheer you on. Well done stay strong & thanks again for the weekend run... 👍
Who else does a gear check/sell merch whilst running a 3:40/km half marathon pace?!
Only the legend himself 😂
Yes and talking all the time a 3min40/km ! 😄🤣🤣
He must have one of those new GoPro Turbos
Hahahha. Lege.
Just imagine how fast Ben would be without the camera…
Well done! Great seeing that smile on your face and hearing how happy you were during and after. I'm predicting more smiles and happiness in London!
Thank you for taking us with you in this race. Lovely people in Northern Ireland and a stunning place.
The smile on your face just says it all👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪
Im about 8 months after a surgery and in the same boat, it is amazing how just feeling like your back to normal is the best feeling in the world.
From just up the road from there, in Antrim Town! Such a feel good video, so glad you had a great time over here!!!
goodluck for London Marathon .. All the best Champ !
Superb time and with a Go Pro!! You must be so pleased with that Ben - so happy to see you smiling.
Absolutely amazing @ben Parkes inspiring injury recovery
Brilliant video. Really glad to see you enjoy yourself at a great race in beautiful Northern Ireland. Come back soon!
How on earth do you keep a smile on your face when it hurts that much absolutely amazing 👏
Ive got my first ever marathon in Manchester in October! Ive been so inspired by you ever since I started watching you back last year. You are honest and genuine and open about male mental health, which is a big thing for me. I wish you all the best in your races going forward. Hopefully meet you one day too!
Thank you. Hope everything is going ok in your world. The more everyone talks about it, the better we’ll all be. Sending positive vibes.. 🤗
Absolutely. I started therapy a few weeks ago after ignoring my own mental health for many years. Slowly but surely going in the right direction. Running has been a constant for me over lockdown and Im going to be doing more of it going forward
mate im so sorry to hear you've been struggling with mental health and anxiety.
I've battled those demons myself and know how physically crippling they can be in so many ways, notwithstanding the fact they are mental issues.
You seem like an amazing guy and God bless you for putting yourself out there to tackle your demons.........you're a bloody good runner as well mate ;)
Wonderful! Locked down here in Sydney and no races happening, not even parkrun :-( But still able to run on own's own or in pairs. Grateful for small mercies.
Sending some love from Melbourne, Australia. We are facing more extensive lock-downs over the coming months. As much as I felt anxious just seeing you in a crowd that packed at the start of the race, I love others are able to this at the moment! Keep up the great work, Ben.
Same. They have like 700 covid deaths a week now so it's absolutely wild to see this. And there are comments on this vid from people saying things like "look at the dopes wearing masks" and it just makes me shake my head. I guess they've become numb to it or something.
Class to see a packed start line! Sunday morning was perfect weather in NI. I got a 41.40 10k pb along the Belfast coast.
Feeling the same sort of anxious feelings recently mate. Watching your videos is a big motivation for me to push on. Ill be running my first Marathon in London, hoping to get a 3:30, a lot slower than yourself but I hope to see you at the end somewhere anyway. Keep it up man!
Brilliant 👍 great to see this as I'm running it this year. Glad to see you enjoyed here too
What a crazy start^^ Good to see you running with that big smile on your face, this immediately puts me in a good mood :)
Happy to see you in Norn Irn!!
Really nice video seeing you smile keeps me motivated. 😀
Wow what a beautiful run, congratulations mate. Got relatives in NI, great place 👍

Thank you for your lovely comment Ian. Most appreciated
You're helping motivate a TON of people here Ben. Keep the videos coming! Gettin' it done!
Great to see you back racing with that smile on your face. I also have london and am battling injury also. Less than 5 weeks and the tough times are real. This marathon has been a loooooong time coming!
Stay strong Peter! Hope you get it sorted. See you in London!
@@BenParkes how did the race go for you? I had a fantastic day enjoying the crowds and came back with a 3.05! So delighted considering the 2 months of injury leading in. Sub 3 is in me, I know that now 😀 I hope you had as good a run and came out happy! Looking forward to the next video!
Nice run Ben! I did Sälen trail marathon. And I did reatch the 5 houer!! New pb is 4:59:57 Im damn proud, I got cramps in both calves from km 22. Was only possible to run faster for shorts periods. But now I know I can take a better time next year =)
The Races are back, The Smile is back, The Pace is certainly back....Ben Parkes is back!! 🙌🏼
Well done Ben you looked like you enjoyed that! Keep up the great work both of you 💯

Really enjoyed it, one your best, love the positivity. Well done Ben and Sarah, good luck for for London!
Congrats! Looking forward to your marathon performance. I am sure it will be awesome!
As for myself, at 41yo I'll be running my 1st race of my adult life this Sunday, a 10k trail, and my 2nd a half marathon the Saturday after. Getting nervous :-). You have been an inspiration since I quit smoking and started running in february of last year! Thanks, and keep getting it done, Ben!
Wishing you all the best Jonathan. You’ve got this!! Forget about any times and just go out with a smile and have fun. It will be a PB for sure!! 🙌
Thanks for that great tip,@@BenParkes! Indeed, when I think of just enjoying the experience of these first races instead of having to race my best possible times (my younger colleagues are trying to make them into competitions 😀), it does take a lot of the pressure off! I'll just go out with a smile thinking about your kind words! Enjoy your running!
Class well done dude running commenting in the same breath way to go

gotta get the go pro up on the hat somehow get the race POV style. Good run their rounding into some better form at the right time :D
Well done Ben. A great improvement from the Big Half. I went past you at that event and finished slower than my usual time due to training being hampered by hamstring issues but I’m ok now and training g has improved so you’ve inspired me to have a go this coming weekend at Dorney Half (what was meant to be the Maidenhead Half but was moved)
Great video as always team 👌😁
