Without question, one of the best live performances on television ever recorded! Linda has a very rare talent, a great God-given gift, and a desire to always sing at the highest level. She brings extra joy to everyone who listens to her, and she brings great emotion to all who do!
She is Streisand with a bigger range and looks like Linda Carter . What a beauty....this is the first song I here and sent to my friends in 2021. We all deserve to find love and be loved in return. 💜
This is art personified. She paints pictures with words and notes. She also gets more beautiful with age. It's really not fair, but she shares it with the world.
Yeah, you see a lot of pop singers who don't seem to "believe" the words they sing, a sad song with a sh...eating grin, or a happy song with a frown. Wish they would all take a cue from "someone like her". Another great one you can see on UA-cam is Tina Arena doing "Don't cry for me Argentina"--she also gets it, also gives a spell binding rendition of that song.
I can’t stop listening to Linda’s version. One of my favorite singers who has a gorgeous voice sang this in concert, but it didn’t have the same passion and interpretation as Linda, who sings with SO much meaning behind each word. It’s absolutely riveting; as a singer myself, I am just mesmerized by Eder.
I’ve been attending Broadway shows for 40 years now: I’ve seen so many fantastic singers, it’s impossible to say this one is the best or that one is the best; having said that I have to admit that every time I hear Linda sing I can’t help but think she is simply the greatest voice I’ve ever heard on stage.
Just been introduced to the wonderful voice of Linda Eder. She has an absolutely beautiful voice with a remarkable range. Just adore the song 'Someone like you'...
I Love Linda Eder. My Mom actually got her autograph when she performed Jekyll & Hyde on Broadway. Her voice is stunning. I just do not understand how she was not more commercially successful. There are so many popular singers out there who do not have half her talent, yet they have achieved more success. It is bewildering. Linda Eder is Amazing and so beautiful. I wish that I could see her live.
Ponette it was her personal choice. She chose to raise her kids rather than chase stardom. Aside from solo concerts I don’t believe she ever starred in another Broadway musical despite the acclaim after Jeckyl and Hyde and the rabid fan base asking her to do another musical.
I was thinking about posting a comment until I saw your comment. Two things you said that I totally agree with are (1) "I love Linda Eder", and (2) "Her voice is stunning." The emotion she puts into her singing is so genuine, but seemingly so natural and effortless for her. And what a great vocal tone she has. Yes, I love Linda Eder.
This was the performance that I discovered Linda on and I told her last Tuesday night at her concert, here in Florida, that over 20 years later at 58 years old she still sounds the same to me. I HIGHLY recommend seeing her in concert, as the tickets are very reasonable and she sounds better in person. Also do the meet and greet as she is so down to Earth and humble. She loves her fans.
Holy Crap! Is Linda Eder amazing or what??? and gorgeous too - J&H best musical of all time....how can there possibly be 14 dislikes - are people kidding me?
I watch this clip every once in a while because it just makes me feel good. It's like therapy for me. There's so much I like about her. Thank you Linda.
Incredible Linda Eder such a amazing voice. She is truly blessed. I can listen to her for hours. And also extremely good looking. She's perfect for Broadway.
I've seen just about everyone sing "Someone Like Me" from Broadway's "Jekyll and Hyde," and take my word for it, this is the single greatest live performance of this song ever made... period. So fully mature and magnificent in her delivery, this is sheer vocal perfection :)
This performance is so incredible I almost find it difficult to appreciate her other work. There's Vienna, there's New Life but this performance of Someone Like You has passion, expression, virtuosity and artistry in impossible quantities.
I still remember her on Star Search when I was only 12 years old. She is, indeed a superb talent! only few filipino knows her, but I'm happy to know someone like Linda Eder. I love you Linda from the Philippines!
She is so amazing!! I've seen her 3 times. It's been five years since the last, and cannot believe she is coming to my hometown in July... and I'll be in the front seating.. I am so blessed and CANNOT wait!! : )
Phenonmenal video. There must be a huge amount of Jekkyl fans out there for all these hits years after the musical ended. I never felt that it was produced well in the NYC version. The original version in Houston in the early days is THE BEST! Linda had a great concept album with Colm and of course the wonderful Andrew Warlow. One of these should have been the co-star with a better Producer like Hal Prince or Cameron Macintosh. I am optimistic for a revival. .
I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever and she sings it wonderfully. I was fortunate enough to see her in "Jekyll & Hyde" in 1997 and she was fantastic. Always wished they she would have done another Broadway show but at least I saw her in concert a bunch of years ago.
It always amazes me how incredible vocal talent utterly enhances a woman's already-impressive physical beauty. She's a knockout, based on looks alone. Add that incredible voice, and I'm ready to lay down my life for her.
To me it doesn't matter WHEN she breathes. All I know is that she can HOLD notes forever with that kind of breath and with a power and strength that blows your hair off !!! Just listen to " Don't rain on my parade" , " Man of LaMancha", " Let him fly", " By myself" and " I am what I am" !!! Incredible !
weeeellll, shit. They just got a free show to one I'd pay big money to see. Linda Eder is a goddess. and can Wildhorn write a tune or what?! (sorry for the curse word; only way to express myself at this very moment lol)
I'd commit several illegal things to be able to sing like that - no doubt. What a pure wonderful voice. That's what makes the difference from good singers and GREAT singers.
Linda appeared, last night, in Raleigh, NC at a taping of Clay Aiken's PBS Special (to be aired in early summer) to do a gorgeous duet with Clay of 'Crying' (Roy Orbison song)!!! They were fantastic together.
She was already 36 yrs old here. To bad she was not in the public eye when she was much younger. She won star search in 1988 first ever singer to be undefeated. No one sings this song like she did.
Right, but a younger singer would perhaps not possess such mature phrasing and interpretation. Just compare this to the recording on the album. This performance is incomparably more nuanced.
I already have and I hear a much more developed style on here. Would have been interesting if there were recordings from the earlier theatrical performances of this song (before Broadway).
She is incredible; I've seen her two times and was supposed to see her again tonight in south jersey. Luckily, she decided to cancel the show due to the snow storm but she was gracious enough to reschedule the concert sometime in January.
I interviewed he on my radio show on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, gave her new album a big intro, the called her Linda RONSTADT and she yelled EDER>
I had the pleasure of meeting her in Houston once, after she had just given a concert with the Houston Symphony, that would have been about in 1999 to 2001 time frame.
my women's choir is singing this, when we got the sheet I screamed "OMG! JEYEKLL AND HYDE!! YAY!" My teacher looked at me and laughed and I laughed and said "I love that musical"
Yeah, I hear that. Not just voice, acting too. I love it when they sing it, not LIKE they believe it, but because they DO believe the words. I don't think the real thing can be faked, this woman is the real deal.

AGREED.
I absolutely agree! This is the version I always listen to.

I agree. We look alike!

Im Tearing up just listening to her with my eyes closed.. absolutely NO comparison. a flawless performance.
SIMPLY bravo BRAVO!!
This is what most singers aspire to be. Phenomenal.
Just been introduced to the wonderful voice of Linda Eder. She has an absolutely beautiful voice with a remarkable range. Just adore the song 'Someone like you'...
This is the moment I fell in love with LINDA EDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Rosie!!
Ponette : It's probably her singing style which is great. Some people are born for musical theater. And yes, she's absolutely beautiful.
lol being famous has nothing to do with talent.
Because people are ignorant and they can't separate quality from trash..
Ponette it was her personal choice. She chose to raise her kids rather than chase stardom. Aside from solo concerts I don’t believe she ever starred in another Broadway musical despite the acclaim after Jeckyl and Hyde and the rabid fan base asking her to do another musical.

This is the Moment I first Fell in Love with Linda Eder. Lucky I was taping the show that day, (Giggling) because of this I still own a VHS player.
This was the performance that I discovered Linda on and I told her last Tuesday night at her concert, here in Florida, that over 20 years later at 58 years old she still sounds the same to me. I love this song and I love her singing it. It makes me cry every time I have a listen. Wish I was her...
I watch this clip every once in a while because it just makes me feel good. It's like therapy for me. There's so much I like about her. Thank you Linda.
Same here. :)
same here! wish i could sing though! oh well! laugh!.....
I have been a huge fan of Linda Eder for years. Her voice is beautiful!
She has one the most beautiful and well executed/supported pianissimo I've ever heard.
Yeah, and it totally makes this rendition when she is able to follow up all that incredible belting with the delicate close.
@@MadanRajaRock so true. She is easily one of my top 5 greatest vocalist of all time.
Wow! Just discovered this singer - incredible voice, makes my hair stand on end! reminds me of Streisand - go girl!
Very Barbara Streisand like.
Such an amazing and powerful song!! No one can sing this better than Linda Eder and this performance gave me goosebumps!! What A Voice!!!
Linda Eder possesses the most magnificent voice ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Linda Eder is such an amazing talent! It is so nice to hear a singer with such a raw talent!!
Incredible Linda Eder such a amazing voice. She is truly blessed. I can listen to her for hours. And also extremely good looking. She's perfect for Broadway.
She is wonderful. Have been to three of her concerts. Amazing to hear.
Bella voce
I've seen just about everyone sing "Someone Like Me" from Broadway's "Jekyll and Hyde," and take my word for it, this is the single greatest live performance of this song ever made... period. So fully mature and magnificent in her delivery, this is sheer vocal perfection :)
Listen to regine.
Well she is the original singer of this song. It was written for her by her husband.
Regine from Saturday night live ?
I start my day by watching this.
Just randomly picked this song today for a jazz and broadway music recital in a few weeks, and I'm blown away. I couldn't've made a better choice.
This performance is so incredible I almost find it difficult to appreciate her other work. There's Vienna, there's New Life but this performance of Someone Like You has passion, expression, virtuosity and artistry in impossible quantities.
I've always loved this tune. It's so raw and emotional. She gets hotter with age.
You should have seen her last Tuesday night in skin tight black leather pants. She was working it and sounds the same at 58. It was magical.
One of the most beautiful songs ever and Ms. Eder is simply amazing. I was fortunate to see her in J&H
I listen to this every day without fail
So blessed to have seen her live on B-way! AWESOME!
Audience was stunned...you could hear a pin drop while she sang those last notes. Beautiful job, Linda!
Linda's voice is so beautiful she must be a angel sent from Heaven.
I still remember her on Star Search when I was only 12 years old. She is, indeed a superb talent! only few filipino knows her, but I'm happy to know someone like Linda Eder. I love you Linda from the Philippines!

Always AMAZING. She needs to come back to Broadway.
Just saw her last night at bergen pac; 17 years since this recording. Fabulous!
She is truly a diva. Her voice left the audience breathless when she sang a Christmas concert in Playhouse Square Cleveland. OH!
Absolutely stunning! Beautiful!

wow, she just has a way of captivating her audience. amazing. and she sings each song with so much emotion.
love how she controls her vocals so well! absolutely beautiful. She is wonderful.
Oh, wow. What an amazing voice!

I've loved linda e for years. Thanks for posting!
Beautiful voice. My grandmother loved this when she was alive. Thinking of you, grandma!
One of my favorites of hers! She is amazing in this song.
I love this so much... and I sing it, too...
A beautiful song sung really well. Love it!
What a beautiful voice; why don't we know this lady in England?
So beautiful

OUTRAGEOUS!! What a voice and what style. She is the best.
weeeellll, shit. They just got a free show to one I'd pay big money to see. Linda Eder is a goddess. and can Wildhorn write a tune or what?! (sorry for the curse word; only way to express myself at this very moment lol)
As a singer this is a woman who I aspire to be like her voice is soooo amazing and her range is awesome. xxx

magnificent voice. magnificent song. literally written FOR her. 'nuff said.
If someone like you loved me......is what I really long for now..
Thank you Linda!!!!
I'd commit several illegal things to be able to sing like that - no doubt. What a pure wonderful voice. That's what makes the difference from good singers and GREAT singers.

+Madan Mohan she had that phrasing back in the 1980s this was 1997 I believe
+Madan Mohan check out her videos when she was On Star search from 1988
I already have and I hear a much more developed style on here. Would have been interesting if there were recordings from the earlier theatrical performances of this song (before Broadway).
+Madan Mohan there is now for the play. she has personally recorded the song also
She is incredible; I've seen her two times and was supposed to see her again tonight in south jersey. Luckily, she decided to cancel the show due to the snow storm but she was gracious enough to reschedule the concert sometime in January.
how can any man listen to this song and not have his heart melt? astounding!
Awesome.
Goose bumps.
she is amazing.
Definitely my new role model :)
Breathtaking performance
I interviewed he on my radio show on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, gave her new album a big intro, the called her Linda RONSTADT and she yelled EDER>
I had the pleasure of meeting her in Houston once, after she had just given a concert with the Houston Symphony, that would have been about in 1999 to 2001 time frame.
She makes it look so effortless. Goddess.
I wish I had such a gorgeous, God given voice. *sigh* So gorgeous Ms. Eder
I saw Linda 2010 in Vienna "Wildhorn and Friends"! She was fantastic!
my women's choir is singing this, when we got the sheet I screamed "OMG! JEYEKLL AND HYDE!! YAY!" My teacher looked at me and laughed and I laughed and said "I love that musical"
At last..
I now know what others have meant my whole life when they say:
"I found true love!"
Because I too have found it ;-)
WOW!! So beautiful. I remember watching this when I was younger and instantly fell in love with the way she sang this song.
Awesome!!!
Yeah, I hear that. Not just voice, acting too. I love it when they sing it, not LIKE they believe it, but because they DO believe the words. I don't think the real thing can be faked, this woman is the real deal.
absolutely breathtaking, love linda eder, what a gift x
Absolutely breathtaking singing :]
Always Linda's fan since her winning days on Star Search.
What an angelic voice! WOW!

Really nice voice.
