Why?
because they have talent on both sides of the ball and will have a new qb who has huge upside. Nobody is saying they're a super bowl contender, but why shouldn't we be looking forward to see what this kid and team can do?

He didn't actually. The 3 big number 1s went south but Josh Jacobs, Maxx Crosby and a number of his mid-round pics are continuing to play well above their draft slots. Everyone says he and Gruden failed. They didn't. They were 3-0 when they got the email news. And 3-2 when they fired him. The point is, he was exactly on track with what he did his first 4 years in Oakland. The league knew it. Set him up and burned him down for saying stupid stuff 15 years ago in email. Total sabotage. And Mayock was collateral damage, plus now he has to listen to people saying he failed.
In my opinion, it's a bad rap.

Oh they’ve recovered definitely. Have you seen that Defense last year? They beat the chiefs without completing a single pass in the 2nd half and now signing Christian Wilkins is massive.
Those 1st rounders were Grudens Pick Mayock was hitting with the late round picks

I've been saying for months, Penix is my QB2 in this draft. With the right fit and a decent o-line, he will excel and be one of the best QB's in this class. Made some of the most impressive, tight window NFL throws in all of college ball last year. I'm hoping Miami decides to not pay Tua and drafts this kid. MN would also be a great fit.

Interesting what he said about Drake Maye. I think I’ve heard a few things like that now and to me it’s sound kind of inconsistent, wouldn’t be surprised if he dropped a bit. It seems he has quite a lot of wow moments but also quite a lot of Huh moments.
