This is some dance 12inch mix, you would have been better off, listening to the single version, the 12inch version in those days were awful, use trying new effects, completely losing the song, they were slightly interesting when you knew the original really, but definitely not for your first listen lol
I've since listened to the single version, which I like more. I still enjoyed the dance mix, but the single definitely fixed all of the issues I had with this.
lot of this around in the early 80s when the 12" single became a thing and producers didn't really know what to do with it. Relax/Two Tribes was the pinnacle of all that.
What the heck? Nobody ever listened to the 12” extended mix. In those days they didn’t really know what they were doing. This is Altered Images best 7” single. The ‘remix’ is a balls up 😊
As someone who caught this song first off a streaming mix on Deezer, I really got into this, I’m keen to check out the 7” version right now!
Try their song Dead Pop Stars, it’s more of a straight up post punk song.
This is the album version, but the single version is way different. The single version is like 3 minutes with more vocals and doesn’t have that long instrumental. Plus, the production is more straightforward. I like both versions but the single version would probably have been the better introduction to the song. One of my favorite new wave songs/bands.
I've never heard this version before
Woah, haven't heard this in forever.
Altered Images were very unique for the time. Catchy songs. And a good handful of them that became alternative classics. Not fantastic but certainly each of their songs have good memories attached. Especially if u were a kid like me
this version was for DJs to add time etc
Pure Blondie. Try “Boy” by Book of Love” or “Goodbye Horses” by Q Lazarus.
grim until the something like the 7" starts at 5.20
This is the 12" mix which is pretty poor, check out the 7" single version.
I just assumed the album version would've been the best choice. I'll check out the single.
why the dance mix?...awful
What an awful version. Stick with the single.
Yeah, I think the 7"/single version would have been a better demonstration of this song.
I like some of the typical 80's instrumentation in the first 3 or 4 minutes but the single version is much more punchy and this version just feels wrong to myself.
