  • Tom Misch 'Lost In Paris' solo - Adam Lee (with my new 'old' Strat)
🙌🏻🎸NEW GUITAR DAY!🎸🙌🏻 Super excited! Well, new 'old' guitar day. My beloved black Stratocaster (currently in Dubai) - that I've always had - was my first proper guitar; I have had it from new, and bought it as a kid, back in 2000. It was one of the very first instruments to reach the UK as part of Fender's then newly-launched American Series, that had replaced the American Standard. The American Series went out of production in 2008, and some of those early-run guitars have been some the nicer instruments to leave the Fender Corona plant. As I can attest to with mine. I always wanted a similar guitar with a rosewood board, and stumbled upon this one. A mint condition American Series Stratocaster, in translucent, white blonde (photographing it so you could see the grain was pretty tricky), with a Rosewood fretboard, and that all-important (to me) 22nd fret. And it was made in the same quarter and year as my black one.
It needed these heavier StringJoy strings on it to really come to life. I am so overdue posting this solo - it's one of my favourite trumpet solos, from the amazing Tom Misch track 'Lost In Paris'. I wanted to cover this solo, the day the song came out, but never had the setup to record anything, back then... Here I am, using Waves' GTR instead of an amp. Very decent, and sounds better than it feels but man - I cannot wait to hear this guitar through a decent amplifier and a Tone Tubby speaker. It's already telling me what it can do, and I already know it will be insane. I can just feel it! Such a lovely response from this ash body, and rosewood board.
Hope you enjoy this, and catch you in another video, soon!
    Adam :)
