@@frankpiccione8571 i think he means to say it is a pre-cursor to modern ambient music like the later works of brian eno, certain works by aphex twin, william basinski, grouper, etc. while i don't know if it was a direct influence on any of those artists, the first piece in this video certainly seems to have stylistic similarities with them like the slow tempo, long-held chords that change slowly bit by bit, and the general absence of any instruments or notes with harsh attacks
@@jonaszszulik1728 Although curiously, this modal harmony(second movement i think C myxolidian for example) makes it consonant but doesn't sound to me at all "Old Style". I mean, nothing here sounded to me Bach, Mozart or Beethoven. Only the ground bass in the second movement can remind me "baroque". But apart from that, nothing else.
I've listened to many versions of this piece but in my head I want the upper voice to have a greater presence on the first beat notes and a little slower and no one does it this way so I must be wrong ? Any one got any ideas why I hear this so differently from everyone else ? P?S I'm not a conductor just an amateur composer

Except that the second movement sounds interesting, it's like Sibelius.Everything else are all a tune,it's no different with noises when listening a long time.
Mi piace questo compositore, riescie a essere molto espressivo senza essere troppo complesso. 💖💖💖💖💖
the first reminds me so much of arvo pärt cantus in memoriam of benjamin britten. It's so beautiful
Part's piece if from 1976, this one from 1963... Gorecki was the real inventor of the Holy MInimalism...
0:00 - No.1
3:16 - No.2
5:29 - No.3
How wonderful to find new expression in material so old. "Old wine in new bottles"
I've only recently gotten into Gorecki but he's quickly becoming a favorite composer of mine. This is proto-ambient, to me
What is proto-ambien?
I mean what is proto -ambient? Can you be more clear?

Henryk Gorecki was kind enough to share with us what Angels whispered to him
C’est ma version préférée, merci milles fois
No.3 is masterpiece.
Mistrz Górecki!
Un lavoro emozionante!!! estremamente emozionante!!!
Could someone tell me what makes these pieces 'olden style'? Besides the 2nd movement featuring groud bass (of sorts) I'm at a loss.

Who knows, where is possible to buy score and parts of this music?
Chester music
He didn't happen to mention which old style he was referring to.
Probably in those days in avant-garde circles, this was old style. After all, Gorecki was an avant-garde composer.

Who is the conductor? What Orchestra?
According to the video description, Antoni Wit with Polish National Radio Symphony
Beginning part reminds me of Korean folk song 새야 새야 파랑새야 ua-cam.com/video/kvNq6P4R2aQ/v-deo.htmlsi=uAZ0IGpX8Xhe-_Ok
How it deserves to be executed
this is so beautiful! I wish I could join such an orchestra

Disagree, the first movement is extremely moving and very atmospheric.
Don't do Sibelius like that! :P
after learning holberg suite this will be fkin booring
I hope you've changed your mind. Gorecki is a great composer.
