- In celebration of Hal Holbrook's 90th birthday, this video highlights the legendary actor's life and career, and the beginnings of Mark Twain Tonight in 1948 at Denison University. Both Holbrook and Michael Eisner are graduates of Denison.
God Bless you Mr. Holbrook. You are a brilliant soul. You have given America an enormous gift in your dedication to its history, and future in portraying yet another American hero.
Thank you Sir.
RIP Hal. I saw him live in Elmira NY. My hometown and where Mark Twains buried. He did an amazing job of playing Twain. The mayor of the city at the time gave him a key to the city as a thank you.
I went out of my way to attend the events and Vail Arts performances in Swasey Chapel for just this reason. Thanks for an inspiring interview Michael Eisner and Hal Holbrook!
Very touching interview! Very strong words! And ending by the unforgettable handshake of Michael Eisner I knew when we were still working at Disney. Those "Happy days" in the company left a great impact on me. Thank you so much for these fireworks of nice and great talks, I love it!
He does a wonderful performance of Mark Twain, I believe that I am watching Mark Twain give the Dialogue. All that is needed is for him to give the War Prayer. Again thank you Mr. Holbrook for all you have given to us.
Very talented Man. I loved him in Magnum force.
Hal Holbrook ’48 and Michael Eisner ’64 discuss some of the ways Denison set the stage for their careers, including the auspicious beginnings of Mark Twain Tonight!, and the night an 18-year-old Eisner watched Holbrook perform in Swasey Chapel.
I woke up thinking of the name Hal Holbrook, not knowing who he even was. So that's why I'm here.
Hal Holbrook R.I.P.
looks way younger than 90
I wonder how many times Holbrook has been asked to say "CALLAHAN?"
lol. Probably loads cause it sounded great.
Your all heart CALLAHAN!!
Or maybe asked if he knows his limitations!
val kilmer is pretty great as Twain as well.
His portraying ABRAHAM LINCOLN in that movie was to me one of the finest performances and also helped me to understand Lincoln
Sadly nowadays movie are empty and no value. No wonder young people are drifting without a positive goal
Quelle longévité! Il a la peau dure le bougre.
I feel
Ashamed only knowing him from sons of anarchy 😂
