You might be nerdy, but you have a pleasant demeanor and a non-annoying voice like some other UA-cam videos of the same ilk! I’m a pharmacy tech student, and this was very helpful. Thank you.
I begin nursing school in a few weeks, and I feel so confident about dosage calculations. It's like he said, “I’m screaming out the answers at the screen.” Thank you for this video!
Thank you so much! Pharmacy calculations always makes me cry!this gave me more confidence.
God bless and this channel I literally have been wrecking my brain trying to figure this out for the past 2 weeks my first dosage calculation exam is Wed. I actually understand the material WAY better omg
This video helped me so much. I start nursing school this semester and I feel like I am already a step ahead. You are so entertaining and clear when explaining information. Thank you thank you thank you!!
Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make this video....It was truly helpful. I wasnt sure where to go to get an in depth explanation of conversion with worked examples. You are right on point with this video. Bravo and thanks again!!
Dr. Wyatt you are awesome you taught me what I have been pulling my hair out trying to learn. Thanks for taking your time out to do this!!!!
OMG!!! I am so blessing tonight. I found your video Dr. Wyatt, watching and I learned a lot. Thank you so much. THANK YOU!!!
I have been so stressed for weeks now on med math. It's the only subject I could not grasp. Your video broke the process down for me and I truly appreciate it. Thankyou so much!
THANK YOU! You explained everything in the way my brain needed! I struggled because everyone said "just multiply or divide by 1000." I followed those simple and straight forward instructions without arriving to the correct results. Had they not omitted the rest of the instructions then I would have already mastered this and moved on!!!
Yes, God bless you ... my professor went over this last night and actually left everyone very confused. You have really clarify the entire 3 hrs lesson we had last night. Thank you very very much for this.
Excellent teacher! Thank you for this!!
For the metoprolol practice question, there seems to have been an error:
It’s asking us to give 200,000mcg twice daily.
This is equivalent to 200mg twice daily.
We have 100mg tablets available. So we would give 2 tablets per dose. (which is what the question was asking).
This would mean that the patient would get 2 of the 100mg tablets for the first dose and 2 of the 100mg tablets for the second dose. (Totaling 400mg per day).
I was thinking the same thing.
I've been in school all semester trying to get this... You just nailed it 😊 great job
I love it!!! Thank you so much. God bless you!
I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! Im in lpn school and im currently in dosage calculations and was failing because i didnt understand i watched this twice and got it!! Thank you soooo much...

Courtney Irving "Excellent teacher! Thank you for this!!

The dosing is 200mg bid, 2 tabs in the morning and the evening, 200mg (Ordered dose)/100( available dose) * 1 (tab concentration)= 2 tabs per dose
You are AMAZING!
your channel just made learning tolerable and funny, "Crap No one uses anymore" but we need to know it Thanks for making it fun and humorous.
😅😅... I like how you said you have so much fun marking things wrong when there's not 🚫 a leading zero. Are you still on UA-cam?😊 My teacher recommended your acid - base video to us for fundamentals! Love how detailed you are!
Omg THANK YOU!! I hate math and I’m old so it’s been a long time since I’ve had to do any. I’m studying for my pharmacy tech license. I have a super short attention span and your video really kept me engaged and laughing 😆
Thank you!
Informative video 👍
Dr. Wyatt, great video on dosages! Thank you. Do any of your videos cover Dimensional Analysis?
wow thank you so much
im confused (42.58) The order is for 200mg BID which means 200mg per dose twice a day so 2 tabs per dose. if its 1 tab per dose then the order would be 100mg BID. if the order was 100mg daily then 100mg total daily dose...100mg twice day its 200mg total daily dose not 50 mg each dose to total 100mg.
La'Vy, I believe you're right. Dr. Wyatt, are we missing something?
That messes me up too why did he divide by 2?
I think this may be an error because I also got 2 tablets per dose.
I am confused, too! I figured up 2 tabs twice daily since we are giving 200000mcg or 200 mg BID !
If I give 100 mg each dose, then it is 100 mg BID. I looked in the comments bc I was doubting myself
wow amazing thank you
great video
Thank God for you 😇
Please make more like this !?
I have a question, do you have some practice questions we can work on? This is so awesome. 🙏
Your Amazing 🤩
good job
For the metoprolol question does it not state you are giving 200 000mcg twice daily, meaning each dose would be 200 000mcg and therefore 2 tablets per dose? I am just confused about the wording of the order. TIA
i understood this to be 2 tablets as well
Me too
I just watched this and got 2 tabs as well !!
For the first Metoprolo Question He states to give 2 tabs, but I think it's 4 tabs, and for the 2nd Metoprolol question he states to give 1 tab, but I think the correct answer is 2 tabs?
Thank you, thought I was going mad lol
I love this video but the only thing I wish is that you would make an updated video because in nursing school they don’t want us trailing zeroes
😅 He got me at the last question. I really read it carefully lol.
Thank you for this video. DR. just wondering on the calculation for 16:30 , 66.5 in. X 2.54 cm = 168.91cm right not 167.64 cm??
I double and triple check and I got 168.91cm also
@@alexiadkma3817 yes i did the same thing calculator and phone , maybe its just an error , i was just wait something is not showing up right.
I came to see if anyone else noticed in comments. ☺️ I checked with calculator and phone to be sure 😅
Wow love your videos!
Congratulations on your md !
Where did you go to medical school?
Thanks! My evil nursing instructor😂😈😍 Yey I got the 2nd to the last question, but I got tripped with the wrong medicine lol😂😂
You are awesome!
Thanks!!!
Today I managed to tie both of my shoes well enough that they stayed tied all day. The smallest wins are the best.
@@KendallWyattMD Every little win counts!
Hi There, I think there may be a typo in your Conversions-to-Memorize for NCLEX. The 1 kilogram= 1000 milligram. I'm thinking it should be 1 kilogram= 1000 grams. Great videos and helpful info.
Do u have more videos on conversions
question, I have been NURSE for 30+ years , give 200mg twice a day mean to , give 200mg bid, not 100 mg bid, it doesnt say total of 200mg bid. this is confusing
You are right. Absolutely.
i had to read the comments after he said that youre right, thankyou!
Thank you, I thought I was completely wrong understanding the 200mg BID.
I am a pharmacy technician and I was thinking the same thing. I thought I was going crazy for a moment! Thank you
OMG I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY
do you have a drip cal video- I am looking at this video daily!!!!
Hey thank you for this informational video however, 66.5 in * 2.54 cm is actually 168.91 thank you!
silly question regarding does , the second example question, the answer was 1 tab because that is considered a dose even though
you are giving two tabs each time ( 400 mg twice daily ) just wasnt clear on that
🙏🏽
I am sorry, but I used my calculator to calculate 66.5 x 2.54 and I came out with a completely different answer than you did... I got 168.91...I checked 3 times and I keep getting the same answer. Can you tell me how you came up with 167.64 cm...I will admit that math is NOT my thing but I am so confused on this.
Could someone plz help with these two pharm questions. I am struggling, I appreciate it so much. Thank you..
A client with heart failure is prescribed an IV infusion of dobutamine. The concentration of dobutamine is 250 mg in 500 mL D5W. At what rate in mL/hr should the nurse program the IV pump. Ans in whole#.
Admission will 70 kg
Dobutamine 10mcg/kg/min continuous infusion.
Client with ascites had 5400 mL of fluid removed during paracentesis. The health care provider prescribed 8g of albumin IV per 1000mL of fluid removal. If the albumin is supplied as 25g in 100mL bottles, how many mL will the nurse administer? Record answer using one decimal place.
0.000001 at 21:30ish
How did he get two tablets at 40:54
Found a typo on your 2-page conversion sheet. 1 kilogram (kg)= 1000 grams (g), NOT 1000 milligrams.
question, i got lost so how many oz in i gallon again
I can't get the conversion pages when I click on the link, it's blank
is it just me or does "200,000 mcg twice daily" sounds like giving 200,000 mcg two times a day totaling 400,000 mcg
400K QD= 2 tabs BID since 200K mcg=200mg and dose on hand is 100mg- give 2 tabs PO QD BID
I think the English is different when it comes to medicine
I made the mistake too😂
Love you 😘 sweetie god bless you
I think at 21:47, 1 millionth (1/1000000) should be 0.000001 not 0.00001 like you said
Your chart at 54 seconds in shows 1 kilogram = 1000 milligrams. It should be = to 1000 grams.
PHARMACOLOGY IS NO THAT EASY.
Our book have 1gr=60mg

Hey Dr. Kendall I'm a nursing student and wants to become a Doctor someday, being tryin so hard to email you and but can't find an email address for you. If u see this meaasage would you please provide me an email address that I can reach you on, just wanted to know how it was from bridging from rn to md, how long did it take you after becoming an rn to get into med school, the classes required and all that good stuff.
Thank you!
You may be surprised to hear that I DO NOT recommend trying to go from RN to MD.
Unfortunately you'll likely have to take all of the prerequisites just like any other premed student unless you go to a school that doesn't require it (there are none I can name off hand in the US).
I get a lot of requests and questions about going from RN to MD and I can tell you that it is not a shortcut or a "bridge" but instead actually MORE work and takes MORE time overall.
The short answer is that the risks of failure likely aren't worth trying to take any shortcuts.
If you are an RN now... finish your degree, take the prerequisites, (make sure you get an excellent GPA) and apply.
Good luck!
at 42:50 in the clip... .isn't 200,000mcg with 100mg tabs (bid) 2 tablets at each dose? 200,000 mcg = 200mg/100mg = 2 tabs. Not one tab. It is 100mg per tab. You want to give 200mg twice a day, not 200mg total for the day.
I just came to see if anyone caught this 🤣🤣🤣 the good doctor got ahead of himself on that one 🤣🤣🤣
This might be a stupid question but... on the NCLEX, did u get a calculator the whole time every time? Lol
I'm wondering that too
i'm sorry, but this doesn't make sense. Why would the answer be 2 tablets? Wouldn't it be four because you are asking for 400 mg BID basically? so 4 tablets twice a day would equal to 800?
ARE YOU SINGLE? CUZ YOU CUTE!!
Gee you talk to fast!
Thank you!
