- A collection of all the briefing scenes from Ace Combat 04, a classic. It's interesting watching the war unfold as ISAF goes from the brink of defeat to the triumphant victors as they march across the continent.
Pay no attention to the fact that the latitude and longitude coordinates for Stonehenge and Farbanti don't match up with those in AC7. Everyone knows that Usea does it's own thing and won't be cowed by Osean identification systems. - Ігри

There actually is briefing music. It’s just really quiet. Aptly titled, “Silent”

I love how the music changes after getting rid of Stonehenge, from depressed to upbeat. I always appreciated that when I was a kid.
First mission in most games: oh yeah there’s some small group of enemies causing us trouble, go deal with em newbie.
First mission of AC4: a whole squad of bombers is about to entirely destroy our Air Force! If you don’t stop them this war is finished. We’re in your hands, ace!
See the difference, that’s one of many reasons why this game kicks ass
It is truly the point of no return for ISAF. If you lose there, then it's over.
That megalith briefing always makes me shiver. The eerie background music didn’t make it any better.
According to TV Tropes, there’s hidden heart beats after the briefing is concluded and before you go and pick your plane. You can barely hears them which is yeah that really added the urgency to what is at stake.
For me it was the "you want me to do what?!" Moment
That's not bg music, but the sound of Ulysses fragments crashing down from orbit
In Megalith they remove music to let you hear Ulysess fragments impacting on Usea just to let you know there is people dying at the moment. This mission needs you to have the same cold blood and patience as Mobius 1 has while he is hearing the briefing being conscious of the current devastation, speacially in tunnel section. And Stonehenge is dead in that water (thanks to you! The player!) so they can’t do jack shit about it. And the anti-asteroid lasers and Fortress Intolerance were obliterated in the Usean coup in 98 (Again thanks to you! The player! In AC2) so that plan isn’t going anywhere. And Chandelier.exe is still not online yet as Estovakia is currently a still somewhat smoldering pile of rubble. And the Belkan’s can’t pull some shit outta their ass and even if they could Excalibur is now a leaning tower of rubble (once again thanks to you… The player… in ACZ… Has it ever occurred to you to NOT destroy the super weapons that could come in handy in saving lives later and instead send in a team to capture and take control of them?) granted Excalibur’s range doesn’t extend NEARLY that far. The Arkbird could be at risk of getting itself blown outta the sky by Megalith. And the SOLG is doing well… SOLG things… It’s just sitting pretty much abandoned in its fixed orbit around Earth. So yeah better get to blowing up Megalith Mobius 1! Other wise Usea is just going to commit die! And become a smoldering crater! No pressure.
Ace Combat 4 has the most memorable briefing soundtracks, idk how to explain it but it's just so nostalgic for whatever reason.
It gets me ready to go. It’s just so perfect to get you amped up before proceeding to fuck up some Erusians.

Just love the digital filter they used for this voice, compared to all the other briefings from the other AC games.
The irony was that it was probably just meant to conceal the compression they used to make the whole game fit on a single DVD.
I don't think anyone noticed this, but during the Megalith briefing, one of the asteroid fragments that rain down on Usea hits extremely close, if not, dead on impact on the city of Los Canas. It can be found at 14:09-14:11.
This will always be my favorite mission intro/briefing from any game ever. The Music is upbeat enough to get you excited for the mission without being excessive (And even more awesome when the percussion picks up.) The ISAF Officer has a perfect level of professional/formal voice without sounding forced or snobbish.
Ah that's what was bugging me about briefings in the other games, the forced snobbishness. His voice here is formal but endearing in a way. As if he understands the risk you're taking. "Remember, we need heroes after the war too." 🫡

I've always liked this guy's voice for the briefing. Monotone and to the point. Who was the voice actor?
That is a good question. I tried looking it up on Acepedia but it won't give me a definitive answer. The credits of AC04 lists its English voice actors but only says the character that one plays (the kid narrator.)

It isn't Jeff Gedert or Neil Howard (narrator and SkyEye respectively) but it could be any of the others. I looked up some of the voice work from the others on the list and my best guess is Jeff Kramer, but I could be wrong.

Praise the algorithm for bringing me here to relive my favorite AC game. Still have to fix my PS2 so I can play it again :/
Not at all mate, you can find it on PC using emulator. I still have my original game but don’t plan on booting my old ps2.
@@ogremair803 keep it in good condition. It can be sold for hundreds of dollars in the future especially with the new top gun movie coming out. It will be a collectors item soon as it already sort of is

Honestly dude? With modern AI technology you could probably synthesize his voice pretty well considering that theres a decent amount of voice material to work with. "ISAF briefing text to speech" actually sounds like a fun summer project.

@@420skill3 indeed even Shadowplay will pickup PCSX2. Sure Shadowplay is far from being the best recording device for PC but it's easy to use
Play it on your PC with PCSX2. All the PS2 Ace Combat games run perfectly, 04 included. Hell I even play them on the go on my Steam Deck

So why was Mission 17
s ("Farbanti") start comming from the ocean out of the south west? why not from the mainland from the south east which was ISAF territory? Seems odd that megalith would be just to the south from the mission start point. Might be because it looked cool, tbh that's probably it.
Every single mission in AC04 starts from the south. I believe this has something to do with every return line in AC04 also being to your south, it wouldn't surprise me if Project Aces took a programming shortcut with regards to it.
Call me crazy, but I really think the briefing officer is voiced by Dave Nowlin, the same guy who voiced Sam from the Sam & Max games- He's actually in the credits of AC4, it just doesn't say who he plays. Listening to the voice here though, I hear some pretty convincing similarities.
I know it's said elsewhere in this comment section that it's actually Kevin Miller from Sly Cooper, but listening to both voices side by side in their respective other series', it really sounds more like Sam. I don't want to come off as being dismissive though, as it's entirely possible I'm wrong. It's just the strong impression I get listening to their voices.
I'll be honest though... the thought of Sly Cooper doing the briefings does still sound pretty cool. :3c

I’m surprised there hasn’t been an Ace combat briefings ranking. We’re due for a female briefing officer too, unless there was one idk.
To my knowledge, there hasn't been a female briefing officer, only female pilots or side characters. To be honest I'd rather have a female protagonist. But that completely depends on what Project ACES wishes to do.
@@combatking20 there wouldn't really be a difference though, since protagonists don't get voice lines. All that would change is other people referring to the protagonist as "her" instead of "him"
@@nickfury1279 I know it wouldn't and I'm not saying Project ACES makes the protagonist female just for the sake of it. The side characters should be able to be able (and allowed) to add some characterization to the MC.
Larry Folke does that for Cipher in Ace Combat Zero in a way.
After watching this video I made a female version of the briefings minus some of the sfx of course.

You can, you just have to change the game to software 3D11 and the black plane will be gone. It might be a tiny bit slower depending on your graphics card
@@diobrando5020 I tried that already, my CPU can't handle the game and it runs way too slow.
First person HUD mode master race
First person actually makes this game feel like a completely different one. It’s really something.
I don't know if you've tried playing it recently but they've actually fixed the issue with the black planes in this game a while back. Explosions and clouds are also now rendered. Also, you no longer need to patch your rom, an unmodified rom works just fine now
