I'm glad I have a narrow foot because I've never had issues getting shoes that push my toes together. Though I have noticed that high heel drop shoes, like running shoes I used to wear all the time, cause me to get heel/arch pain. Ironically I think higher heel to toe drop shoes were designed for preventing heel pain by cushioning heel striking

I think since I have wide feet... most my life I always tend to be bare foot at home and alot of the time I'd be standing on my toes and my family would tell me I'm gunna ruin my feet or toes... but I'd say my feet are the most healthy even more so then my younger siblings my feet do get dirty especially if I walk outside to take out the trash or whatever.. I also feel that since I walk on my toes I have stronger legs in general then everyone else who doesn't.. I might buy some bare foot shoes I think they will feel more natural to me since I can still seperate my toes and have pretty wide feet.. they are expensive though and I have no experience with any of the brands

Thanks for all this! Just got the Milo book and looking forward to digging in. Most information out there is about IT Band Pain or anterior knee pain (patella). I have a bit of IT band pain, but I also have some sharp POSTERIOR knee pain (when/after doing squats or lunges) that nobody seems to talk about. Any thoughts? I'm 48. Is this cartilage degeneration or something? What do I do?

Great video. I have a question.
I've had a history of ankle sprains on the right foot. A couple of years, an arthroscopy of the ankle revealed the talus cartilage has worn off. While I'm doing my best of keep the muscles of the legs strong, yet I have some pain and the dorsiflexion of the right foot is restricted (not as great as the left one). If this is because of the cartilage issue, is there way this can be rectified? I'm 34

Can you guys do a video on your thoughts around squatting with a smith machine? The gym closest to me only has dumbbells and a smith machine and personally I have back pain so I don’t want to mess around and get hurt.

It is actually much better specifically for that purpose. Having the bar travel on a fixed path means less recruitment of the smaller stabilizer muscles and you can then load up more weight while targeting the major muscle groups. Win-win.

What if my feet is aligned when in a base, bipedal position however when flex my toes, especially during propiocetive exercises, they flex inward? What shouls someone do? I feel this is relevant because when my big toe flexes inward, i lose is arch support, making my foot/ankle overpronated.

And because of that, my knee follows the foot, going valgus

I was born with bunions; I know I know it’s not hereditary. But it was in my case.
Is there anyway to strengthen the muscles in my foot. Seeing as I was born with them though. I don’t experience any troubles other than being a kid and having growing feet. Unimportant info but I played soccer for 23 years.

    • @MrGobledeeGoop

Slightly off topic. Being born with bunions may be a possibility, but have you ever considered if you were just wearing narrow tipped shoes as an infant, never fully allowing proper foot development from an early age? I'm just curious

So many claims made in this video with absolutely no good evidence to justify it. No reason to have to have such rigid rules for healthy feet. Ridiculous and you’re just brainstorming random barriers for people.
