    Solidworks has built-in feature for this. You are doing it the hard way.

    Just to point out (because it confused me initially) If you don't have an even number of spring parts in your assembly, you will encounter problems when you attempt to mate the two right planes. Just delete one :)

    A real compression spring should be done by spiral or helix path, it means the pitch and number of spirals, inner diameter a so on. But it is a good exercise anyhow the yours

    can you do a torsion spring? such as what is in a caulking gun? I have tried multiple methods.

      in featuremanager-> right click on assembly, properties, and check ''elastic'' on lower right of window.

    what about top projection?? this model is not the circle if look from the top.... It is some kind of ellipse...

    You're really gonna compare Inventor to Solidworks? Have you ever used Solidworks? Inventor doesn't really even compare. This is a usable demonstration in mating techniques and model generation. Not an example of the power of Solidworks or even its functionality really... Don't be Silly
