Imagine what we can do now in our own backyard with today's technology, we couldn't even dream of doing years ago. Thanks to all those people who led the way in understanding the cosmos.
Loved this episode. But please do not be confused: some of the old footage is of the 200-inch Hale Telescope at Palomar, not the 100-inch Hooker at Mt. Wilson. Edwin Hubble is also shown with the Palomar 48-inch Schmidt.
Pictures are often confused with the subject matter! I was present when they moved the 200 inch telescope mirror up the winding road to Palomar! I get confused when the picture doesn't match the story.
What an amazing documentary! Mind boggeling and very well made! Sub earned right here... and on behalf of the red cars... very cool stuff on this channel 😲
23:55 now if only we could get to know our real place on the planet... an annoying skin condition that is getting out of hand. Either we take care of the planet, or the planet will take care of us.

I remember being "dragged" to the mt Wilson observatory as a child. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I knew the history
Where I was born and lived. Showing what I grew up with and loved.
This was amazing. Thank you.
Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰:-)
I never will forget the first time I viewed Saturn and its rings...age 10. In my mind, science fiction and science Fact blazed into my reality....

Another excellent episode.
KCET + me = 😁
Hubble wasn’t the first to discover the vastness of the universe, he was just the first to be recognized.
Be careful with that plate!!! Wear gloves at least. Thanks for the video.
