Except that SCOTUS is illegitimate. Three of the judges were appointed via the credibly accused rapist Trump. The convicted of fraud Trump (NY tax fraud). This is why I argue that conservatives do not deserve the same human rights that the rest of us do. Nothing good comes from conservatives. this is just another inhuman ruling in their quest for power and domination. I would argue that conservatives are never legitimate members of a democratic society. If they won by cheating, did they really win? If they are never held responsible, via qualified immunity and rigged elections, why are they granted any power in our democracy? They don't belong. No conservative, from judge to politician to voter is a legitimate member of a democratic society. They barely qualify as human. Humanoid probably. But not human. Prohibition. The entire nation refused to recognize the "legitimacy" of that constitutional amendment. If we refused to legitimate republican bs, say ignore their laws, target them for retaliation if they use the cops or the legal system, ignore their judges' rulings.. we would win. It has to be a democratic movement to reject them. Every hand lifted in protest. Every person standing and refusing to obey these illegitimate interlopers in our country. No respect. No acknowledgement. Because if this doesn't work, it's war. You must never give succor to the enemy.
Not really. The Constitution was meant for wealthy white men. Black men couldn’t vote until later 1870s. Women of any color had to fight for it and that wasn’t until 1920.

I believe the electoral system was to help the balance of powers between the larger vs lessor populated states. If not for that system, the drafter's believed that The lesser populated states would always be at the wishes of the more heavily populated ones. It was a compromise at the time in order to create the union.
I once felt it should be popular vote in the US. However, once I got thru 5th grade social studies, I realized the value of the electoral system. Popular vote would mean the entire country would be ruled by what California and New York wanted. It would mean folks in major cities would dictate the law of the entire land. You’d end up seeing the decline of our food supply system because city dwellers (mostly leftists and democrats) would likely end private ownership of vast swaths of farmland. They’d forcibly split it up and distribute it, thereby destroying untold farms. It’s a great thing we have farmers that LOVE what they do and provide our food. Remember what AOC once said; “We don’t need farmers, we have grocery stores.” Well, if we went to popular vote (ie. a pure democracy), then it wouldn’t be long before we didn’t have those farms. The people who received the parceled land as part of the “redistribution” wouldn’t be likely to farm it. Then we’d truly suffer. People on the left keep crying about “losing our democracy.” The fact is, this is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. Our representatives are democratically elected. Not to mention, this is the united STATES of America. The STATES created the federal government. The federal government did NOT create the states. Each state has its own constitution and its own laws. People in different areas of the country have different likes, dislikes, values, etc. Folks in the city wouldn’t want folks in the country to dictate how they live. The opposite is also true. Go to a popular vote and that’s where we’d end up. The electoral prevents that, or at least that’s the idea. Frankly, I’d be more concerned about losing our republic. Lose that and we’ll descend into chaos and possibly a civil war.
It think it's weird that only 15 million people voted in the last election in a country of over 330 million people. And apparently that was an unusually high turnover rate. How the hell does that happen?

The USA is one of only a few countries to use this antiquated and unfair system - Myanmar is one of them! It should be "one person, one vote," or at least apportion EC votes as a percentage of those available in each State. As an Australian, where we have compulsory voting, the whole US electoral system seems bizarre.
That's a FACT!
@@jessicaarmstrong5035 if you’re talking about Australia, I don’t think the population is 330 million. If you’re talking about the USA, then supposedly 158 million people voted. A little less than half the population. That’s estimated to be about 63% of voting age people.

@@SurelyYewJest It's like a parent saying "Because I said so." 😂😂😂
@SurelyYewJest that would be funny if the situation wasn't bringing us that much closer to fascism.
While we're certainly having our problems in Ecuador I'm so happy to have fled all this crap. #HAPPYEXPAT
The image of the 'frog in the slowly boiling pot' comes to mind. Step by step we are heading into the same situation like Germany in the 1930ies. And we're still thinking it can't happen here.☹️
Democracy hanging on by it's fingernails, the right to vote should be immune from attack.
We need to do away with the electoral college. One person, one voice. That will end the need to gerrymander.
Seems easy enough, doesn't it?!
I'm in Missouri😞😠 Can you help fix it ?????? Scary, frightening, also evil?!
Last sentence of the first amendment: and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. What do you mean private citizens can’t sue for their rights? conservatives don’t read the constitution.
It feels like the 8th circuit doesn't believe in government for the people by the people then. And I live in one of those blasted states.
They never have.
Time to do 3 things 1st increase SCOTUS to 13, 2nd to get the DOJ to setup away to assign private litigators as a special DOJ plaintiff, 3rd to announce subpoena of records and testimony of possible compromised SCOTUS justices. Needs to happen NOW.
Perhaps if you had SC judges who didn't have life tenure, they might be willing to try more than 60-70 cases per year. Looking at the ages of some of your judges, they should be put out to pasture and more energetic people appointed
What about POTUS Pilate? You know, the guy who questioned "truth"?
We might be able to do this if we have a better majority in the Senate. The Democrats would need to be in complete power. Vote blue!
@@pickingpetunias1318 Vote red, vote blue ... tell us something Patriot: Who created the National Debt:
We the People Democrats?
We the People Republicans?
We the PERSONS the voters?
Who is saddled with the debt to repay:
A few million We the People Democrats?
A few million We the People Republicans?
A few hundred milllion We the PERSONS?
LOOK AT A MIRROR PATRIOTS! Do you "think" the unseen hand Mr President is borrowing from doesn't want to be repaid for lending the $400T? You Patriots, and Christians, have voted away America! The land has been given up, due to debt, the resources are spoken for and the utilities are owned by this unseen hand! Who do you "think" has to pay the debt? Do you PERSONS "think" money grows on trees?
Marc keep fight for us, I believe in you
THIS IS ONE GOOD REASON ALL BLACK AND PEOPLE OF COLOR SHOULD VOTE FOR BIDEN, WITH OUT VOTERS RIGHTS ALL MENTIONED ABOVE AND BEYOND, AS IS ALL THE WAY OUT, DON'T BE A REAL DAMN FOOL, DAMN REPARATION RIGHT NOW, ALL (AS) WILL BE OUT IF YOU DID GET IT, A WHOLE LOT OF IT, ONCE VOTERS RIGHTS ARE HARDER TO OBTAIN LEGISLATION FROM THE RIGHT WILL PASS YOU OWE THEM YOU.
*The Supreme Court has already ruled that individuals CAN sue.* That was in the Turtle Mountain Chippewa case against the state of North Dakota.
It would be interesting to see if Marc or his colleagues are aware of this case…
Wow, this is crazy. A nod to Jim Crow.
Red maga loves it
Thank you Marc Elias and BTC!!
So much for the redress of grievances. The courts are slowly eroding the Bill of Rights through legalese .
