"The wisdom to know when to break those rules or when to suck it up and push through" - This is the gold of the video:)

Thats so important. I feel like that a lot of tips from "fitfluencers" are not adaptive enough or too rigid. Refreshing to see it differently.

It seems like everyone likes this video format, so I'll keep making "Quick Tips" videos... Which is good because I already have a few recorded and ready to go 😂
    Thanks everyone, you're all amazing!

Good tips! I concur on run/walk strategy and I rarely ever spend more than 1min at an aid station.
I have done almost 40miles with 2run/1walk interval (wasnt far off from my record 50k time) and the plan is to do all of LongHaul next week using this same method and do it sub 24.

The goat with more great tips. I used this during my ultra Sunday and it really helped!

This is a great tip. I too have a similar rule that applies to any stopping during a race. I've never timed my stops, but my rule is simply: prepare before you stop, get what you need as quickly as possible, don't sit down, walk while you eat. This gets me in and out of aid stations in as short a time as possible. I do need to try and apply this rule (or a variation thereof) to moving late in an ultra. I've done some step counting in the past (count every right footfall and run 50 steps, then walk 50 steps, etc) and that works well but I've not been as consistent in applying that strategy. I'm going to focus on this rule during my next ultra!

Thanks for the great tip. I’ve got my first 50k this weekend. I’ll apply that at the aid stations. Keep posting and inspiring. Cheers!

Don't forget to bring a tiny tube of gel to spread on your testicles if needed.

I made a 100k when I was 18, now I'm much older, but again loosing weight and getting into shape. Two years ago I made a marathon distance around a lake all walking in 9 hours. This year I want to restart long tours of cycling. The goal is another marathon mostly jogging and more altitude meters. I'm looking forward for more. Videos like yours are very helpful and motivating. Thank you.

Loved this! I really enjoy the atmosphere of ultras, and will often stop and chat with volunteers... but I'm ready to push beyond just finishing, to performing. This will help! I just found your channel and subscribed, can't wait to binge.

@Feet First Athletics - In a few of your race videos you mention doing a `full body scan' to assess your status - I would love a vid about what you mean by that and how you have used it in the past to make changes during a race to improve the outcome. Best wishes for 24.

    I absolutely love your videos!
As someone who is looking to star marathon training (from a casual runner), are there any training programs either free online or in a book that you think are good for a beginner?

I can't concentrate on what he's saying! Because his mustache is wonky! I just want to trim the right side for him slightly 😂
