A SUGGESTION!!! IF YOU ARE STANDING WITH THE CAMERA, I would highly suggest you back away from the tracks at least 10 to 15 more feet. If a car of finished lumber has a broken steel band and it hits you it could take an arm or possibly all of you down the track with it. With the trains moving 50 to 60 MPH the band can be off the ground and you would not see it coming until it’s too late to move away, if you could see it at all.
I’m a retired road engineer off of a major class one railroad. The first two stack trains and the auto rack train looked like 60 mph to me. The auto rack train looked slower because the cars are much longer. The oil train looked like 50 mph. Amtrak looked to be doing 70 plus MPH. The mixed freight in the 50 to 55 MPH.
@@billmorris2613 Lately I've been basing the speed of freight trains off of the GE traction motor sounds and since then, Ive been pretty much spot on. Each speed has a certain pitch, 70 being the highest pitched one, and I just go down from there.
Oh yeah the train in unstoppable was far from doing 70 miles an hour I mean that train at the most was doing 35 maybe 40. And that train has to be moving pretty slow for the actor to run across the top of the cars like that at 70 miles an hour with those trains the rocking side to side no fucking way is that even possible at least I wouldn't think so.
Great video CC and these CSX trains you caught were definitely in NOTCH 8! They certainly roll along down South! I go to a HOTSPOT in PA called WYOMISSING JUNCTION and they don't waste any time going through there. It's an NS location that comes out of the HARRISBURG YARD! Thanks for sharing this video and I'm viewing it from Delmar, Delaware.
Nice catch! I guess you really like to get up close and personal with these speeding trains. Stay safe! You wouldn’t see me standing that close to one going that fast.
Great good video, mr Carter's Caboose. Man, this is a very busy railway. I guess the speed of this trains was about between 40 mp/h and 60 mp/h. If you filming this trains stand a 7 feet distance from the rail against you. I saw the turbulent wind🌬️ made trough the train. He can blow you away Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands 🇾🇪🇺🇸
Loved the vid but you changed positions on me each time i tryed to count how many cars were being hauled. So if you know off hand or get bored one day let me know. I cant really see the train number but im pretty sure these are all different correct? If so im only interested in the first one but would gladly take all of them. Thanks bud.
It’s absolutely incredible how many trucks one train can take off the roads! ❤️
I’m a retired road engineer off of a major class one railroad. I could haul more ton miles in one day than a truck driver could do in a year.

Cool catches! Very fast trains!
Amtrak 98 looked like the only one going 70, the freights looked like they were going around 40-50mph

10:20 Interesting how the reflection of headlights from the tracks makes it look like the rails are on fire.
Love the mid train!!! Well it does look like 70 mph vs.The so called 70 mph in the movie unstoppable lol

Yes it was
Question? Why are locomotives different, I mean freight and passenger trains use different designs in locomotives why not use the same as freight?
That was a great 18:15 vid, any particular mp you were located? Thanks for sharing
I loved ❤
I do not miss dropping and turning intermodal trains
