I need your help, we have live database server & Reporting database server, I need auto backup and restore in reporting server , both server are connect on same network....
working fine. but after some time, Less secure app settings are enabled by google.. my question is that without using a less secure app setting how to send mail.
I am not able to send mail using sql 2019.
But I followed same process on sql 2012 and mail works fine.
Microsoft has has not tested this tool properly.
Configure app password in gmail and use same app password when configuring send mail account-- do not use original password or it will fail.
I have not tested this process in SQL 2014, 2016, 2017.

This option is no longer avaliable in gmail security.
In SQL server Logs I don't have the option "Database Mail". please suggest what I have to do to get the option?

I am getting this error even after changing gmail settings...
The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 3 (2022-03-25T14:51:55). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. how to resolve it.
An important step was not mentioned. SQL Server Agent needs to have Mail system and Mail profile selected under Alert System
But how can I send mail without the send test email option...?
*Does this tool require smtp.?*
One thing that I noticed that was weird was that after I went in to 'Manage Existing Account' for Database Mail that the account password only showed 5 stars for my password despite it being longer. I wonder if that's normal. I can't get the mail service in Sql to send the test email. I'll keep trying and update you here if I can get it to work.
Update: Ok! I got this to work. For this to work with Gmail you have to go to the 2-step Verification settings on your Google Account and set an App Password. You use this in the SQL email settings in place of your gmail account password and it works.

Please post how to enable sql server Agent
To enable sql server agent service, all you need to do is to open the sql server configuration manager, select "SQL Services". Once you select "sql services" option, you will get all sql services. select sql server agent service, right click on it and select enable option. this is enable your sql server agent services.
i didnt get any database mail in management
Gmail changed so you can no longer turn on "Allow Less secure apps" as of May 30, 2022.
The mail can not be send to the sender.
it is showing in red mark
