While a very listenable tune, Blue Monk is definitely not an easy song to play especially with all these freaking chords and add-ons. Here today, Mr. Whitman made Blue Monk clean his apartment and get the in-between spaces.

This trio is really top notch! Obviously, Chris's guitar playing stands out as that classic sound, performed with effortless facility. But, less acknowledged sometimes is just how superb the bass and drums are in this format. Emre, in particular, exhibits the ultimate in poetically restrained support of everything happening musically around him. He's attuned to the melody, the cadences, setting up sections, and in maintaining the momentum of the walking bass line, the compass pointing north towards the songs ultimate conclusion.

I 'm reproducing this chorus by ear, and let me tell you, it flows so smoothly, so perfectly, the lines are so clear and beautiful, this is the exact jazz expression i'm in love with. Simple beautiful lines flowing, that's an acchievement i want to reach. Your choruses are so perfect, musical. That's master craft right here.
