  • STS faculty Nathan Zgonc, Colin Williams, Bradley Palmer and George Curran perform Beethoven's Drei Equali at the 2012 Southeast Trombone Symposium. Two altos, tenor and bass was a fun way to do it! The STS is held annually at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA.

    Rumour has it that a song arrangement of this piece was performed in the funeral of Beethoven. Thanks for sharing here...

    Played that peace on a concert tour in Sweden in the dome of Strängnäs, pure magic, still getting emotional thinking back.

    Excellent, the additional alto trombone gives a slightly brighter sound. Very well played gentlemen.

      .....for YOU !
      There is NO absolute in music.

      Indeed, very beautiful, Beethoven was the greatest musician, not just as a composer, but as a symbol of hope for all humankind, and a symbol of freedom against any type of tiranny!, he will inpire the next generations, even if the y don't know much about classical music, but knowing his story, will bring them hope on their own lives.

    A heart bleeding melody.. I hear it for many long years with the Cavatina opus 135 quartet with tears... I wish it could accompany my burial ₫₫₫

    Excellent playing! But why 2 altos when Beethoven scored this for alto, 2 tenors and a bass (I know some publishers have the two top parts in alto clef, but Beethoven didnt write it for 2 altos). Buit still superb playing!

    Use vibrato!

    • @jacksonmaberry5159
      @jacksonmaberry5159 7 років тому +16

      why though? vibrato was considered an ornament at the time this was written, not to be overused.

      and I honestly think that some phrases shouldn't have any at all

      it's all choiry though. vibrato would mess with the resonance of the chords.
