Thunderation! If Beethoven could hear that (when he was able) he would have composed for trombone choir.
Maybe only a choir of 3 parts but he did write the "Three Equali" for trombones.
Ah, but I think they do. They sneak glances at their former prof- the man all the way in the left.
Even after he lost his hearing, he was able to compose music, he could hear in his mind!
Wow, I have probably watched this 20 times in the last couple of years and it still brings tears to my eyes - absolutely wonderful!

Interesting. Even in this arrangement, at around 6'59", 7, and 7'01" there's an overtone that speaks as loudly as if it were being played by a trumpet. Nicely in tune, here!
In the full orchestral version this happens too, only there, it often sounds like a screech trumpet, and wavers fairly wildly.
Sad to think Beethoven accidentally created that with the voicings, and never knew it.
