Done it twice no big deal and my hair was long both time middle ways my back. It’s just hair and if you take care of your mind body and soul, in 3 years it will be right back there but healthier

I did mine last week. Last time I big chopped was 10 years ago. & yall. My hair went from a dull brown 4c lil fro from like the mama from Good Times. To a silky jet black curly soft fro like toni braxton. I been researching can hair texture change naturally & basically found that hormones change, follicles die after 7 years and new ones come in, & when those hormones change it can be do to age medication change and different genes being initiated. So somehow my 4c gene switched and i stop taking birth last 2 years. Thats the only way I can make sense of it bc tbh if my hair texture was like this last time i would have never wore wigs and eventually texturized. I even had a texturizer ready for this big chop to my surprise its more than good without it! I got silky black new born hair even my edged are slick straight
I do this every four years and cleanse myself of the past , find my inner strength and start over. It’s SOOOOOO therapeutic! ❤❤

I just did this three days ago after a four year journey. I did it to let go of past energy and embrace a new era. I'm loving it so far

I’ve done the big chop so many times… years when I didn’t remember then in 2013, 2017, 2021 and will do it again in a couple of weeks.
I've done this probably 5x in my 39 years and I don't regret it, it still short now with dreads on top. I love it.
