When I was little, my mom would bring home the obsolete ordering pads from her work (catalog ordering desk at Montgomery Wards). I was in heaven. I could pretend to take and send out order requests. The best part was having the backside of the papers to glue and make my own paper dolls from the old store catalogs. I loved fussy cutting paper dolls and still love fussy cutting. So when I hear it’s just paper, I think, not to this little girl (I’m 67 now). Thanks for sharing and the memories.
Such great memories. 💕
These are so pretty. Such great ideas! I need to start working on my journal again. I got stuck and put it away. I have the hardest time with the covers.
I wish you could put the smell in your videos! I'm sure it would bring back memories of school days!
I loved paper dolls as a little girl. Me and my sisters would play for hours. We would cut out the yellow stamp books ads anything we could get our hands on. Then when n I got older me and my sister would draw our dolls. Oh those were the days I still love paper dolls I'm thinking of making a paper doll journal. Thanks for the memories
I wish you could package and sell your “just try it” attitude! You are afraid of no project. I just love it! You give me encouragement to try things. Thank you.
I love that you’ll start out with your “junk” materials like on your second project. You always come up with something so pretty. These are unique.
I just love when a new video comes out. Your instructions are so easy to follow. This series of videos makes me feel all warm and comfy. Thank you.
I got a parcel today from a small company in Australia called “whichcraftdoyoudo” and it was wrapped beautifully with tissue paper and l was in heaven, talk about timing, so then out came the junk and creativity and bobs your uncle Fannie’s your aunt made so tags and journal cards thank you lovely E
oh Edith i just love watching and listening to you. you are good for my soul thank you so much
You seem like you are really enjoying this series! That’s right have fun!
My mom loved birds and flowers. she would have loved your cards you made.
Ms. E, I look fwd to your videos so much. You bring daily sunshine and joy. Thank you for all these wonderful ideas ❤
Another fun project! There is something so satisfying about using things we normally discard and making something lovely out of it ❤
This looks like a fun technique. I love the look of the pattern tissue paper too….neat idea! You spoke of fussy cutting when alone or not much on TV. Right now my back has been out and I can’t bend much so I’m in a chair with the heating pad and I miss my crafting so I’m doing loads of fussy cutting in my chair…lol. At least it entertains me and keeps me crafting. I use a wonderful light that actually is portable/rechargeable that bends around your neck and has goose neck type plastic that curves around your neck with two lights on the ends so you can aim it at your project while it sits around your neck. It really is a blessing to give so much lighting for fussy cutting or reading too. I know I can’t live without it now. It’s from Amazon in case you want to pick one up for yourself…and if you need more particulars on it just let me know. Thank you again for all the inspiration and enjoy your stamps….I love to stamp probably more than anything else in my crafts.
What is that lamp called...at 75 I could use the extra help seeing clearly....thanking you for the info...hopefully😊
I would also like more info please.
This is the one I have and love it. amzn.to/42fGR1W it's on sale right now lol
Thanks for listing that. I just bought one.
I have loved paper since I was a little girl as well. I was always cutting things out of construction paper and taping them on the fridge to make scenes for holidays or seasons. I loved catalogs as well or any kind of notepad that I could find. I guess that is why I love making journals and ephemera now that I am in my fifties! I enjoy watching you make things as much as I enjoy making them.
You always amaze me as to how you make something beautiful, no matter what you use.
Such a great idea for scraps. Thanks for always coming up with great ideas and turning nothing into something beautiful and unique.
My favorite was the pattern tissue and packing paper. I love to reuse things.
Loving the tissue pattern paper. It sort of reminds me of the look you get using tea bags.
The idea from trash to journal is so great!!! What a great idea to use up junk paper with decorations into our beautiful journals! ThNk for sharing great ideas!!!!
This is a great idea! I love how you decoupaged the different papers and fussy cuts. It's beautiful. ❤😊
I love the idea of putting things behind the papers! I never done that but I will now! More great ideas. Thank you!
Love using old sewing patterns in all my projects. Works perfectly covering up stark white paper. My fav thrift shop sells them for only $0.25 each ☺️

EDITH-I love your new ideas! Wow you just gave me a flashback! I used these cards to learn the alphabet and my addition, great fun to learn that way. Lots of fun memories with my dad and family.I saw you decoupaging a few videos back , and ordered the products to do it, then I couldn't find the video, so glad you're using this technique again! I too love the smell of anything that's wood related! I Like the stitched look too, I have a journal you made me and the sewing is so special.Ive not added anything to it, it's just so pretty the way it is! Lots of inspiration here!! and the 'trick' with the brush - wrapping it in wet paper towel - is really helpful!~~thanks, Ms E~~
I love this junk to journal series, it gives me tons of ideas for what to do with what I've accumulated in my stash of 'stuff', lol.
I'm really enjoying your junk to journal series. You share so many great ideas to use up all the junk I've been gathering. It's very pretty the way you put ephemera under and over the tissue paper.
I was unsure that these materials could amount to much, but I guess I should have faith. They really turned out into something quite amazing. Talking about liking strange smellss: My husband is diabetic and it weird I know but I like the smell of the insulin when he injects himself,He usually does it in the bathroom after testing his blood sugar so he uses the preloaded pens he keeps one in his case. If I'm sitting next to him just after he injects, I get a whiff and I like it or if I use the restroom after he's in dealing with it, i just really enjoy it. When I walk by him after he injects and mention that he smell good, he just looks at me like I was strange. I've said it enough he knows. He occasional tells me I wouldn't love the smell if I had to stick my finger to draw blood and test myself 4 or 5 times a day and then stick needles in myself if I had to inject myself twice, several times a day. He uses 2 types of insulin a day. A long acting and a quick acting one. The long acting is a dosage that's about 3 or 4 times the amount of the quick. Twice in the last couple years he has made a mistake and gave himself opposite amounts. He quickly tells me because his blood sugar will drop very fast and I have to run around give him apple juice immediately thenotify scramble around and dig out emergency chocolate or candy and he does have an emergency shot I can give him if his sugar gets so low he passes out but it's expensive for one thing and 2nd instruction on the needle says to call 911 immediately once I inject one. He doesn't like the idea or the embarrassment this would cause him. I would tell him he gets to eat his favorite chocolate. But he just says being force to eat something kind of takes the joy out of it.
I am loving your junk to journal series! Thank you for working so hard to share with others!
Very pretty. I have playing csrda and lots of pattern paper from old sewing patterns and brown paper. So Im good to go . Thsnks Edith.🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤
I also love this new series E. You are so creative and I just love listening to you.
What a wonderful idea! I love the images under the tissue!
I never thought of using playing cards in crafting. Great idea. Thanks again. We always wrap up the paint brushes and put in freeze.
I love these! You are such an artist. The brown ink on the wrinkles hit the spot.
I agree, if you have it use it. That’s my motto for this year.
I never thought about putting elements under the napkin. Thank you for the great idea! 😊

Love the tissue paper. Love the envelope one. ❤
I love your videos. I was working on a journal watching TV when the program I liked ended and there was nothing else on that I even wanted to listen to. I started watching this video and it was like sitting here crafting with a friend. I even make comments to you occasionally. Thank you for being there!❤
Well looky there! I think this is the soonest after you posted that I got to watch. LOL Edith, I want you to know that I have been trying to send you our nice New Mexico weather since I heard about your ice storms. I hope it made it to you. It's now a bit colder here, which I'm not fond of, but we are getting rain so that is a blessing because we need every drop we can get.
There are wonderful! I love the layering under the tissues.
When I was little, I used to beg my mom to buy the McCall's magazine when we went shopping just for the Betsy McCall paper doll that was in each issue! I loved paper dolls! Fussy cutting brings back those memories!
You made some beautiful pieces. Lots of fun to watch. Thanks for the ideas!
These are wonderful! A great way to play with some bits & pieces.
Another good idea that I would never thought of. Love it.

I almost missed this video.
More great ideas, I now know what to do with my flash cards, I can't wait to try it !
Your junk to journal ideas are great. Thanks for sharing.❤❤❤
These are gorgeous. Some lovely techniques. A couple of suggestions... If using normal white glue you can add 1/4 water to use like the modge podge. If no roller put light acetate or saran wrap over the area you are pressing down then gently lift off. Try using a sanding strip or nail emery board to 'cut' the tissue off.
I love these… so very pretty!!! Thanks❤️❤️
Those are great! I love how the patterned tissue becomes transparent. Very cool. Thanks!
The flash cards mom helped us learn by. Mrs E. You create amazing stuff.
God Bless
Deb

I have so much stuff that I have been “collecting” and I can’t find the strength to do anything! I always think they don’t look good! 😭😭 Love to watch your videos ❤️
I've used plain white glue diluted with a little water for decoupaging with napkins. Got that idea from Natasha/Treasure Books.
