Good stuff dean 👍🏴⛺️🥾
Thanks for watching Alan
Very enjoyable video Dean some good walking and a little jog 🤣🤣 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
I find that I want to move quickee while out walking now after my recent running adventures, it's always nice to stretch the legs a little more every now and then 🤣
Great music
Thanks for watching 👍😎
I have been to that same chippy in Fort Augustus, before I moved with my caravan to Tenerife, I travelled the UK for 4 years and stayed on a camp site for a while just along Loch Ness near the castle.
I bet you visited some spectacular places in the 4 years you were travelling around. Thanks for watching
@@DeanRead i think my favourite place was North Uist on a caravan site next to a white beach for a month. Hebridean Way looks a trmpting walk.
I'll have to check that out
Cracking video Dean! Great watch
Thanks for watching Jamie 👍
Well Done. Great to se atrail walk that is not an established route 👍
Thanks for watching Ray, really enjoyed the wild sections of this route and the pathless parts.
Nice one Dean. What cracking first video. The TGO Challenge has been going for donkeys years, not done it myself but would love to give it a go. Off to watch part 2. 🙂👍
Thanks for watching Nige, the TGO had been on my list for years. 2 weeks of Highland fun was pure bliss, periods of no connection with the outside world was one of the things that appealed to me the most.
Nice one Dean I love Scotland I went a couple of months ago for the first time. Shame about the weather but the views made up for it😁👍
The weather improved as the journey progressed thankfully, a few periods of rain but overall it was perfect 😁
Seen all you videos well done keep them coming all the best
Thanks for watching Philip 👍
Hi Dean, I was a day ahead of you in starting: from Oban. I did meet Tim in Mar Lodge and at Tarfside where a bunch of us enjoyed burgers and beer at the Masons. Your videos are always great to watch and I look forward to the next installments. Is this you hooked on the Challenge? It can be a bit addictive 🙂
Thanks for watching Gordon. I really enjoyed the TGO, I'll definitely be back again but not sure if it will be 2023.
I'm not sure the good folk of Scotland will be too frightened by a pair of white legs 😁👍🏻 Looks like a delightful adventure so far.
Haha 🤣 In retrospect it was a bad idea going for the shorts that day... I removed 20 ticks while at Fort Augutus. I soon reverted to trousers 😁 Thanks for watching Mark.
Cracking vid Dean, will defo be watching the others! I knew about TGO before, but didn't realise the social aspect, that looks fun! Got me craving the trail now though so I'm off to plan my trip round the gower coast 😁

Thanks for watching Kat. I really enjoyed my first TGO crossing. I hope you have a great time on the Gower Peninsula, I visited for the first time last year and was very impressed
@@DeanRead its a beautiful part of the coast for sure. I've camped at Rhossili before but not done the whole coast, can't wait, I have itchy feet 🤣
Keep them vids coming mate 😁

Haven't been to Rhossili, I can't wait to return to Scotland either... Off to Snowdonia this weekend for a spot of trail running 😁 ATB Dean
@@DeanRead I'm off to snowdonia too, meeting up with mr wild Wales nr blaenau Ffestiniog. Shout us if you're round that way 👍
Great vlog Dean. Do you seek treatment for tics? They can be nasty little things. Beautiful views and cascading waterfalls.
I have the little things, I didn't seek treatment for the bites but will if I don't feel right in the future. Thanks for watching
Great to see you back on the trails.# Wildcamping.
It was great to be out backpacking again. Thanks for watching 👍
Another great video.Waiting for the rest... The inclement weather...does it keep the midges away ? ATB.
Thanks for watching Peter. I'm happy to report there were no midges while we were there. I'm not a fan of the Highlands in Jun to August, I hate the little flying beasts 😁
GReat to see you Dean i uster comment from another account Thomas anderson it was i really need a Dean fix that music at the begging was glorious love the bagpipes my grandad was from Scotland hope your well ill be catching up on some videos today
Ah I remember Thomas Anderson, thanks for returning to watch the videos.
Great video Dean Thanks for sharing - looking forward to the next one !
Thanks for watching Wren, have a busy week but will hopefully get chance to edit the next one soon 😁
Finally! Looking forward to this series.
Thanks for watching Marc, I'm a bit behind with my editing 😁
Another outstanding video Dean .
Thanks for watching Gazza
great to see you out hiking again mate 👍
Thanks for watching Graham, it was great to be back out backpacking and wild camping again. I'd missed it more than I realised
Some fantastic locations Dean 😍
Thanks for watching Matt 👍😎
Great video Thank you for sharing looking forward to the next one!
👍😎
Nice Video mate even though the weather was terrible :) typical for Scotland - its rainy season here in Vietnam and we have heavy storms far worse than in your video on a daily basis - keep up the good work mate !
We had monsoon like conditions on day 1 at times, didn't manage to capture it as I was keeping the camera dry 😁 Thanks for watching
Looked amazing, such a beautiful country. Can't wait to get up there myself. Looking forward to the next part.
See you soon,Atb Mark
Thanks for watching Mark. It was an amazing adventure, really enjoyed travelling through some new areas and being totally disconnected
Well done. Was wondering when the first video would appear. Saw you (but not to speak to) in the cafe at Fort Augustus. I was doing Shiel Bridge to Kinnaber Links.
Thanks for watching Geoff, hope you had a great challenge. Hopefully catch you on another crossing soon 👍
Great to see you out on another multi day adventure Dean. Looks epic and very different to the Pennine Way. I bet you missed the warm shower of an evening and comfortable bed. Being completely self sufficient must have been a whole different experience though. Look forward to following the rest of the trip 🙂
Thanks for watching Anthony. I'm happy to wash in rivers and sleep in the tent. Was great to be back to my routes and living out of the backpack again. The best bit was no signal for days at a time, it was thoroughly refreshing to be disconnected
What a stunning place, even when the weather is challenging! Great video as always Dean, cannot wait for the next instalment! Your mentioning of slippery river crossings rang true with me, I ended up sliding off the rocks into the water in the Peaks last month. All part of the fun though!
Thanks for watching Greg, it was a great first 3 days on the trail. Really enjoying reliving the adventure while editing
@@DeanRead that’s one of the delights of video footage and photos, I love looking back on where I have hiked and it inspires many a new trip, as do your videos 👍
Great video Dean, do you wear waterproof socks? If so do they work for you?
Thanks for watching. I never bother with waterproof socks, I find that they make my feet sweat which defeats the object. I prefer to have a lightweight trail shoe that will dry quickly rather than have anything that will hold moisture. It's all personal preference though I guess but I don't know many trail or fell runners that use waterproof socks even in winter.
Great video dean can you give us some info on your GPS watch
Thanks for watching Adrian. My watch is a Garmin Fenix 6s Pro and I have 'Talky Toaster' maps installed
Absolutely stunning walk Dean, I’d love to get the opportunity to do this some time in the future 👍
We should team up Col 👍😎
@@DeanRead I’d love that mate 👍
Great video Dean (I’m part way thru ep1), thx for making and sharing.
I think I have the same bag as you, what’s your water bottle carrying setup? And would you recommend?
Cheers
Hi Rowland, thanks for watching. I currently use a BeFree Katadyn filter, can’t fault it
@@DeanRead Same! What’s your Rucksack strap water bottle holder? Would you recommend?
Really enjoyed your tgoc series, thx.
@@rowland-g my pack is a Osprey Exos 48 and the bottles fit in the pouches that are on the shoulder / chest straps
@@DeanRead Aye - same bag as me, but no pouches. Dammit Osprey! :) Thx.
No Hobnobs then?
I bought HobNobs in Braemar if I remember😁
