I guess I shouldn't question it, but that guy at the rear of the caboose at 18:20, is he... a statue? He looks like one of those guys you would glue on the back of a model caboose lol.
9:44 Those guys are lucky I don't own the company where they work. If I did, I would tell them, "You don't get to drive no truck; here, take this handcar, and pump it up and down the tracks."
Where does that 5 engine coal train go starting 10:43 with D&H hoppers before caboose at 13:26...it appears to depart gateway yard...where did the iron ore cars go? Ty
Its bitter Sweet to see this video for many reasons . But I do miss seeing these trains .
Nice! That is a cool railroad. Love the P&LE!
As a boy, I had the chance to see the main dispatcher station in the P&LE building in Pitt. I am now 65 and remember it like it was yesterday.

Whatever year this was almost everything in background is gone except for a few sheds, and nature has done the rest

Great Catch

That would have been a coal train headed to interchange with the Bessemer & Lake Erie at Greenville.
What mill is in the background? I'm from Armstrong county, north of Pittsburgh. This is great!!!
These are in the struthers/Youngstown area
I am also a lifelong railfan originally from Armpit County....I mean Armstrong County.
What year was this taken?
Probably before 1985
Whatever year it is , Gateway yard has already been pretty much turned back into an empty field.
It’s way after 1985, I would guess 93
@@davedon4616 At 23:44 the date and time is listed on the video as "4:15 PM MAR. 20 1988." There you have it!
@@WAL_DC-6B Right on thx. Seeing the blast furnaces and coke plant gone I figured it was after 85 or so
