@@IanMalcolm-rw5pn they were hunting for cattle grazing land. The bear was at his home minding his business being chased by pack of dogs, the bear was only acting in a normal self defensive mode. A pity the bear was shot. I wasn't there so I can't really know what I would have done. But it is kinda strange that they bring the dogs looking for cow pasture. I think they brought the dogs in case they were fortunate to jump a bear.
Why did he have his dogs chase the bear it was to chase the bear off the property however if they couldn't chase the bear off the property it was expected that the bear would go up the tree if the bear doesn't go up the tree then there's going to be a confrontation that the dogs are going to lose and they didn't want that the humans were trying to get to the dogs not to call him off the chase but to control them only after the bear was in the tree.

I've been backpacking and came right up on the trail and saw a black bear (cinnamon colored), a moment later her little cub arrived. I just took photographs. We were not allowed to bring bear spray, weapons or anything of that kind. No dogs allowed because they attract bears.
Recovering Soul lots of federal land and state parks are designated for hunting. Can’t speak to this piece of land because I don’t know where exactly they are. Also you are asking for trouble by going into the woods without any methods for defense. Where were you that you couldn’t bring bear spray or a camping knife?
@@hbl6304 we had pocket knives, but nothing to do battle with a bear. We started in Kings Canyon national park, and came out Inyo National park after making the summit of Mt. Whitney. Bear cannisters required. No feeding of bears allowed. And this was a Boy Scout activity, so no fixed blades, only folding knives. My son was 12 at the time, we had 10 in our group but I was the only woman. Naive, yes, but all worked out and it was amazing.

I don't know where this is, but im from Canada and Iceland and in both places we say a prayer even if we arnt religious. Not only to respect the indigenous peoples who came befor us but to have a sort of a celebration of the animals life. And the reson was kinda sad that was the bears territory and problye fought for that land. And just so they can have some cows on. The cows arnt helping the environment either. But this is my opinion and if anyone thinks it's wrong or just disagrees i would love to here to be more open minded. Thank you
