    Are you comfortable with using a pedal system canoe?
    Has the pedal system ever broken down?
    Is pedaling tiring?
    Does the canoe get water into it?

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  2 роки тому

      Hi there. I have been kayak fishing for close to thirty years. Both paddle and pedal kayaks. I am very comfortable in both.
      I enjoy the pedal system when fishing. I can still have both of my hands free to fish.
      Pedal system has never broke but I have had issues with steering cables breaking. I have had no issues with water, but a way to get water out of your boat, like a sponge, is always recommended.

    How do you like the kayak now that you have had it awhile ? Is the rudder an issue another owner said the cable for the rudder sucked ?

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  2 роки тому

      I have broken several cables on this kayak. They have sent me the new steering system which is better, but still snapped that. I’m on my third new steering system and this one seems to be holding strong so far. The key is to have very tight cables so there is no bunching.

      @@dkat1108 I don’t blame you. A couple of the times I was several miles from my launch spot when it snapped. Luckily I had a paddle so I could peddle and hand steer.

    How good is the plastic? What is it made out of?

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  2 роки тому

      I have t had any issues with the plastic. I do drag it all around and have some scratches and grooves, but nothing out of the ordinary.
      As far as what it is made of, no idea.

    That's not a grab rope on the side, that's an anchor trolley system 🤣

    Hey I'm 6' 265, will I have any issues? Worried about it being too low or water coming over to much. Thanks for the review

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  4 роки тому

      Hi Jerry- Odd, looks like my reply isn't here anymore. I'm 6' 230 and have had no issues at this point. It is a low sitting kayak as you can see in some of my other videos. So far, having taken it out on the big water a few times I haven't had an issue. You will get some slap and spray, but you get that with most kayaks. Sitting lower, it may be a little more so. Definitely lower and wetter than an Outback or ProAngler. So far, very satisfied with this kayak.

      Scuba Chris 450 on this kayak.

    Nice video! Can the seat be moved forward to adjust for leg length?

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  2 роки тому

      It can. I’d say the rear rail is about six to eight inches long, so you’ll have about that much length to play with.

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  2 роки тому

      @@iamalemontree I do still fish it. And yes, I have broken it about six times. They do offer a newer, updated steering box now which is much better designed.

    Hey Dave, nice review. Any idea what kind of chop on the water will this kayak handle? I know they are light, which is cool, but does the hull still feel pretty solid?

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  4 роки тому

      Hi Mark- Thank you for watching. So far I haven't been disappointed with this kayak. I take it out in Long Beach harbor and out to the breakwall quite a bit. Good amount of chop usually and hit handles it well. You will get some splash as it does sit a little lower than say the Hobie kayaks do, but I haven't found that to be an issue. Taking chop and waves head on hasn't been an issue either.
      The kayak is light but also feels very sturdy. I wouldn't say this is the end all be all, but for a great priced kayak, I like it.

    Hey Dave, I bought the Mako 10 a few months ago but noticed that your rudder lines/connection points are different. Mine are just loops with no real way to tighten. Did you do that yourself or is that how it came?

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Cory- This is straight out of the box...so to speak. No alterations to the rudder. They did mention that this was the newest version of the boat, so not sure if there was a modification from the last version. Interesting.

    I just had mine delivered. I have taken it out twice and can't even get to the middle of the creek without the garbage steering falling apart. Literally falls apart. Austin kayaks sold me this garbage kayak and getting someone to discuss the problem has been a problem. Spend a little more and avoid this piece of junk. Read the comment and see the photos I left on their Facebook page.

      Is the kyak junk or did you not assemble it correctly? If its falling apart can you describe where it is falling apart? Just was wondering if it was user error?
